Jomboy Media is seeking a NYC-based Intern to join our fast-growing team of trendsetters. The ideal candidate is a self-starter looking to make an impact in a hyper-growth environment. This person will work with our content creators, editors and social teams on a daily basis. A successful candidate will be familiar with our flagship brands, Warehouse Games, Talkin’ Yanks, Talkin’ Baseball, We Got Ice and Breakdowns and demonstrate the ability to think creatively and quickly.  We are in-office and expect all interns to be either at our NYC office or Warehouse in Jersey City on their assigned days. 

Start date: Mid to Late May

End date: Early August 

Hours per week: About 20-30

Requirements

• Strong familiarity with Jomboy Media content across all platforms. 
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including but not limited to Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment. 
• Strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of Jomboy Media’s brand, voice and audience.  
• You are here to get things done. You understand that in a start-up environment everyone wears multiple hats. 
• You are organized, creative, a good communicator and a team player. 
• Able to work out of either our NYC office or Warehouse in Jersey City. 

Responsibilities May Include

• Assisting the content and production teams with various tasks & projects throughout the entire content creation cycle.
• Working alongside and shadow producers on new and existing Jomboy Media brands.
• Contribute new and creative ways to engage our community members through our content and social channels.
• Support production by researching topics, assisting with show logistics and analytics and more.
• Work closely with producers, editors and social team to ensure content aligns with brand strategy. 
• Assist on various types of productions ranging from live events, studio shows, run-and-gun content, podcasts and more.

Requirements

• Strong familiarity with Jomboy Media content across all platforms. 
• Experience in a studio setting and comfortable setting up production equipment such as microphones, speakers, and cameras
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and a strong attention to detail.
• You are here to get things done. You understand that in a start-up environment, everyone wears multiple hats. 
• You have experience in live events, sports production or theater. 
• You are knowledgeable when it comes to video, audio and lighting signal flow
• Able to work out of our Warehouse in Jersey City. 

Responsibilities May Include

• Build custom Ethernet and SDI Cables for cameras.
• Working alongside and shadowing our Broadcast Manager with tasks such as taking inventory of all gear at the warehouse, software updates for any machines and maintaining prop organization
• Opening the studios, setting up the equipment and preparing the room’s aesthetics for the shoots for the day
• Assisting the Broadcast Manager in striking the previous set and building the new set for the games
• Assisting with audio and/or cameras for warehouse shoots

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Research Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a fantastic learning experience for individuals who are passionate about baseball, sports, and other related topics. As a Research Intern, you will have the opportunity to conduct research and provide valuable support for a variety of content shows. You will collaborate with our content creators and producers to gather information, compile data, and contribute to the development of engaging content across multiple platforms.

• Start date: May 11th 

• End date: August 22nd

• Hours per week: 20-30 

Responsibilities:

Talkin’ Baseball Research: Conduct thorough research for Series Recap Episodes, Topic Episodes, Free Agency Episodes, and Offseason Episodes.Gather relevant statistics, facts, and historical data related to baseball.

Things You Missed: Locate and compile information on obscure sports to be featured in content episodes.

Weekly Dumb: Source different articles and information related to baseball, other sports, and non-sports topics to support content creation.

JM Football: Perform research for JM Football shows and assist in the development of football-related content ideas.

Warehouse Game Tracking & Warehouse Game Productions: Utilize Excel to track and enter data for future tournaments and events. Assist the team during Warehouse Game Productions-by tracking live data and ensuring a smooth production process.

Any Other Content Show: Conduct research for a variety of content shows, including Talkin’ Yanks, Talkin’ Giants, JM Baseball Trivia, JM Football Trivia, Jolly Olive, and JM Radio. Collaborate with content creators to provide valuable information and insights.

Any Other Side-Requests + TBD: Fulfill any research projects requested by various departments within the organization. Adapt to and support any additional tasks or projects as they arise.

Requirements:

• A strong passion for and knowledge of baseball, sports, and related topics.
• Excellent research and data gathering skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and entry.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in research.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with content creators and producers.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work on diverse projects and meet varying deadlines.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new research tools and methods.
• Prior experience in a research-related role is a plus but not mandatory.
