Job Overview

Jensen Hughes has a rare and exciting opportunity for a talented Principal Fire engineer to join our UAE team and help us drive excellence across our projects and deliver world-class life safety solutions to our diverse client base across Middle East. In this role ,you will not only lead on some of the industry’s most exciting projects but also have a key role in shaping the future talent within our teams through mentorship and development opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Will be responsible for managing large and complex projects to ensure successful delivery to important clients.  
• Will have the opportunity to work on a huge portfolio of projects across the Middle East and anywhere in the World, involving all kinds of buildings. 
• Conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and analysis for smoke movement.  
• Develop and use other forms of Computer Modelling software such as CFAST, Pyrosim and Pathfinder to provide alternative fire engineering solutions. 
• Manage personnel in a team of engineers in addition to mentoring and training graduates.
• Will be client facing role , manage site inspections and deal with construction related queries.
• Will have a responsibility on Business Development and finding new clients to help grow the business.

Requirements and Qualifications

• BEng/  MEng or equivalent
• Experienced working in a fire engineering consultancy, delivering fire strategy and fire safety consultancy services conducting fire risk assessments , developing fire management plans , fire protection design and analysis
• An articulate communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
• Willing to be based in UAE and travel more than 50% across the projects sites

Job Overview 

The Senior Fire & Life Safety Consultant, Qatar requires a highly motivated and experienced individual with strong analytical and creative thinking skills to manage diverse projects workload across ME. This will be a client-facing role and therefore a solid technical understanding along with excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. In this role, you will demonstrate experience and passion in Code Consulting, Performance Based Design, and Fire Protection System Design.

Responsibilities 

• Manage projects and coordinate technical workload of diverse projects implementing a variety of Fire & Life Safety consulting projects across Qatar displaying expert experience in Fire and Life Safety Code consulting, Qatar Civil Defense Codes and Standards (including NFPA) and also the design of fire suppression & alarm systems, developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment.
• Conducting code consulting, fire safety drawing reviews and producing reports.
• Responsible for key Jensen Hughes projects in Qatar and across the Middle East region including Saudi Arabia for various Fire and Life safety projects including but not limited to performance-based design and sensitivity analysis for smoke control systems using FDS software in Stadia, high-rise atria, car parks, theme parks projects, and others.
• Travel occasionally mainly across project sites in Qatar and Saudi Arabia for meetings, workshops, and inspections
• Attending client project & design meetings, managing project expectations and completing the assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
• Preparation and presentation of technical reports and analysis
• Lead and carry out design reviews, participating in various levels of meetings and presentations with Clients assisting in the development of effective business proposals and solutions

Qualifications and other Requirements 

• Degree in Fire safety Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / equivalent.
• Relevant experience in Code consulting and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment.
• 10 plus years of experience in Fire and Life Safety Consulting.
• Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills along with excellent communication skills including speaking and writing in Ability to present clear and technically sound fire engineering strategies, speak in public, negotiate, explain fire protection concepts, and enforce standards while strengthening relationships, occasionally under pressure.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, enjoying professional challenges, wanting to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes.
• Strong Project Management capabilities and understanding of Project Financial Management
