General Ledger Accountant

Overview
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for the maintenance and reconciliation of assigned General Ledger accounts, including prepaids, accruals, and other short- and long-term assets. This role supports the monthly close process, prepares balance sheet reconciliations, and maintains strong internal controls in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The General Ledger Accountant also serves as the system administrator for the Concur Employee Expense Reporting application and manages the corporate credit card program, including user administration, system modifications, and coordination with Concur auditors.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure all General Ledger (GL) transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Process journal entries for month-end close, including subledger-to-ledger reconciliations.
- Create accounting schedules and analyses to review additions and deletions, depreciation/amortization, and department expenditures.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, including prepaids, accruals, and other short- and long-term assets.
- Support the monthly close process by performing fluctuation analyses month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and year-over-year.
- Maintain documentation of internal controls.
- Ensure accurate sorting, GL coding, and matching of invoices and receipts.
- Administer the Concur Employee Expense Reporting system, including processing employee expense reports, managing user access, system configurations, and serving as the primary liaison with Concur auditors.
- Manage the corporate credit card program: record and reconcile transactions, ensure proper GL coding, and resolve cardholder issues.
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred but not required
- Minimum 4 years of related experience
- Must be analytical and detail oriented
- Sarbanes Oxley experience
- Excellent skills in Excel; experience with MS Office Suite
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to work independently

This position will work in both an office and a laboratory setting. Overview
Provide support to Sr. Accounting Manager and the finance team needed during Q2 close.
Responsibilities
During the internship, you will:
- Concur: Allocating department to air fares; Creating new hire accounts; Updating accounts (changing manager, department, name)
- Generating monthly checklist/ Calendar
- Quarterly Board member Related party search (SOX)
- Balance sheet reconciliation for Operating Lease ROU/liabilities
- Assist with cash account reconciliations
- Assist AP to review Monthly statements
- Manage and process credit cards and perform monthly allocation of corporate credit card expenses by department
- Ad Hoc reporting & Analysis using tools –NetSuite, Concur, Bill.com
Education & Requirements
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in business/finance/accounting.

Overview
The Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) Summer Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting real-world Sales Operations analytics within a commercial stage, oncology-focused biotechnology organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on meaningful commercial analytics projects while learning how data informs strategy, field execution, and leadership decision-making.
Reporting structurally to the Vice President of Business Analytics & Insights and working day-to-day with the Associate Director of Sales Operations, the intern will collaborate closely with experienced professionals and gain exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional partners across the commercial organization.
The internship is designed for a motivated, analytically curious student who is eager to apply data-driven thinking to complex business questions. Over the course of the summer, the intern will contribute to two core projects (HCP Targeting Optimization and Incentive Compensation Plan Effectiveness) focused on improving how the sales organization prioritizes healthcare providers, deploys resources, and aligns incentives to drive desired field behaviors.
By the end of the internship, the intern will have delivered tangible analytical outputs, strengthened technical and communication skills, and gained practical experience in commercial analytics and pharmaceutical sales operations.
Key Projects and Learning Outcomes
During the internship, you will:
- Contribute to an HCP Targeting Optimization initiative by analyzing multiple data sources, evaluating targeting strategies, and developing insights that inform how sales teams prioritize healthcare providers.
- Support an Incentive Compensation Effectiveness & Alignment assessment by examining how incentive plan metrics, performance outcomes, and payouts align with desired sales behaviors and business objectives.
- Develop executive-ready analyses, presentations, and dashboards that help inform Sales Operations and leadership decisions.
- Gain exposure to how analytics supports sales strategy, resource deployment, and commercial execution in the biotechnology space.
Responsibilities
Analytics & Insight Development
- Perform quantitative analyses using Excel and analytics or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
- Analyze historical performance, attainment, and payout data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
- Document analytical assumptions, methodologies, and outputs to ensure work is repeatable and scalable.
Business Partnership
- Work closely with the Associate Director of Sales Operations to understand sales strategy, operational priorities, and analytical context.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions to learn how analytics supports commercial decision-making.
Communication & Delivery
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for business and leadership audiences.
- Communicate findings through presentations, dashboards, and written summaries.
- Manage assigned workstreams with increasing independence while actively incorporating feedback and guidance.
Education & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Health Informatics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Must remain enrolled in university for at least one semester following completion of the internship.
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
Preferred Qualifications
- A curious, analytical mindset and interest in using data to solve real-world business problems.
- Comfort working with data in Microsoft Excel and an interest in learning tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings.
- A collaborative attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, professional environment.
- Interest in the biotechnology and oncology landscape; prior exposure to healthcare systems, data storytelling, or commercial operations is a plus.
