In the expansive spirit of our Catholic, Jesuit, and Marymount tradition, this role balances the pastoral and administrative demands of stewarding our Jewish student community, collaborating on departmental initiatives, and accompanying students in exploring the vast vistas of their spiritual lives. LMU Campus Ministry attends to the sacramental, liturgical, and spiritual requirements of a Catholic university, provides pastoral support and programming for Jewish, Muslim, and non-Catholic Christian students, and collaborates with other partners to offer layers of religious, educational, and social student support.
Reporting to the Director of Campus Ministry, this position manages religious programming, pastoral support, and community building for LMU’s Jewish student life. As a member of Campus Ministry, the Chaplain for Jewish Student Life and Hillel Advisor is responsible for engaging Jewish students in Jewish life on campus and integrating Jewish student life into the overall campus milieu. Responsibilities include advising and engaging Jewish students in their activities, developing and supporting programming to enhance the Jewish student experience, overseeing Hillel and student leaders, end-to-end event planning and coordination, and collaborating on departmental projects and events with Campus Ministry staff. The Hillel Advisory Board works closely with the Chaplain.

About Hillel at Stanford
Hillel at Stanford is the heart of Jewish life on The Farm, which is rich with Jewish institutions and individual teachers wanting to connect with our curious students. Our goal is to leverage everything that is amazing about Judaism and Stanford to help about 550 Jewish undergrads and 1200 Jewish graduate students (and Stanford faculty and staff) make an enduring commitment to Jewish life.
