The Compute Platform team as a part of Software Foundations and Architecture is responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that enables Glydways to track, build, deploy and operate our software.  From the build system everyone uses, to the tools used to submit and deploy changes, to the compute infrastructure they use to operate it - we support the entire development and operational experience.  The Compute Platform team forges the tools that empower the entire software engineering organization while working with engineers throughout the company.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As part of this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Perform physical hardware configuration, racking, cabling, and routine maintenance for onsite compute clusters. Troubleshoot and resolve physical server or network appliance issues to ensure high availability for customer deployments.
• Assist the team in supporting onsite customer deployments and demonstrations.
• Write and maintain critical quality operations documentation, including runbooks for hardware configuration, upgrading EKS, upgrading core services, and managing onsite clusters.
• Help develop and maintain observability for Kubernetes services and applications, ensuring users have necessary read-only access to metrics and logs.
• Maintain the on-premise Kubernetes platform to ensure high availability, scalability, and security for critical services.
• Enforce best practices for Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and configuration management using tools like Helm, Kustomize, or GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux).
• Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to understand their needs, implement improvements, maintain security policies, network segmentation, and access controls within the Kubernetes environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Hands-on experience or solid understanding of physical server hardware configuration, component replacement, racking, and network cabling. Comfort working directly with hardware in a data center, server room, and temporary environments.
• Experience with out-of-band management solutions including but not limited to KVM, Dell iDRAC and/or HP iLO.
• Experience with Linux operating systems in both development and production environments.
• Foundational understanding and experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform) for managing cloud and on-premises environments.
• Experience deploying and supporting stateful and stateless application services, including databases and message brokers like Postgres, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
• Strong operational mindset with a desire to build clear, reliable technical documentation, hardware runbooks, and service level agreements.
• This position requires as-needed in-person work with physical servers in our Richmond, CA facility. Candidates must be willing to be hands-on. This includes but is not limited to racking servers, configuring operating systems, assembling servers with individual components.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California is expected in the range below.

$130,000-$180,000 USD plus stock options, commensurate with experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary Product Owner for the Continuous Integration (CI) system, managing how it centrally runs builds and tests by seamlessly hooking into source control, the build system, and integrating tightly with Buildkite and GitHub
• Design and implement short and long term scalable integrations that connect Bazel with the CI/CD pipelines to automate workflows, integrate with AI/LLM/Agent tools, trigger specific jobs, manage build artifacts, and ensure proper handoffs
• Build, scale, and manage the CI AWS infrastructure, overseeing capacity planning and actively working to optimize performance by reducing job execution times
• Develop comprehensive observability (including logs, metrics, traces, and alerts) into the CI infrastructure to accurately track system efficiency, identify errors, and focus reliability efforts.
• Maintain the CI system as a reliable, high-performing platform, providing day-to-day on-call support, incident management, and troubleshooting for the wider software engineering organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of CI/CD best practices and principles. Direct experience with Buildkite is a plus.
• Experience working with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform or equivalent.
• Experience observability technologies like Promtheus, OpenTelemetry or similar.
• Experience with Linux operating systems in both day to day development and operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS or other similar cloud platforms.

Meet the team:

As a part of the larger Autonomy Team, the Autonomy Integration group is responsible for the high level design of the overall system (both online and offline). The team is composed of C++ experts who are comfortable around the whole autonomy stack. We empower other autonomy groups (through tooling and design), develop the simulator, maintain core functionality on-vehicle, add features to the vehicle safety system, and support drive testing of the Glydways vehicles. The Autonomy Integration team interfaces with many other groups across the org, including hardware and systems teams.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop interfaces between autonomy software components, hardware modules, and the track infrastructure systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain simulation capabilities and metrics.
• Maintain core onboard functionality around fault handling, vehicle communication, and top-level pipelines.
• Work with the onboard integration team to tie hardware to the autonomy stack.
• Work onboard and offline to fix bugs across the stack.
• Write safety-rated requirements and code for the vehicle safety system.
• Develop tooling to improve logged data processing (including visualization).
• Conduct and support on track testing of Glydways vehicles.
• Participate in design review, planning, and code review.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• BS/MS in a software or robotics related field.
• Experience with modern C++, including object oriented design, design patterns, build systems, unit testing, and the C++17 standard library.
• Experience designing and developing autonomous systems (including simulation, communications, coordination, visualization, etc).
• Experience developing and debugging on Linux operating systems.
• Desire and ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies.

At Glydways, our Systems team is responsible for architecting and verifying complex functional, logical, hardware, and software systems. We work across autonomy, vehicle hardware, safety, infrastructure, and operations to ensure the Glydways system is safe, reliable, and a great product experience. Sitting at the intersection of product vision and engineering execution, we own system requirements, the architecture of safety functions, vehicle definition, and infrastructure guidelines.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to bring clarity, rigor, and technical depth to our fast-growing transportation program. This role is perfect for someone who can take vague, open-ended questions – How do we establish ground truth? How close can the vehicles drive to each other? What is comfortable braking? What does comfortable mean? – and drive them to concrete, testable requirements.

The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, uncovers the right questions, and applies cross-disciplinary knowledge to solve them. We’re looking for someone who has shipped real products, understands design engineering tradeoffs, and wants to raise the bar through strong requirements writing, Jama discipline, FTA/FMEA rigor, and verification design.

Meet the team:

The Glydways perception team is responsible for designing and implementing a perception system that includes data fusion from state-of-the-art sensors (e.g., LIDAR, RADAR, High definition cameras, Ultra-wide-band radios, etc.) and robust detection, classification, and tracking of any and all obstacles that could present a hazard to the vehicle (Glydcars) in the system. The perception system for Glydways will reason about information from each Glydcar and from regularly spaced sensor pods monitoring the road network.  

The perception team plays a vital role within the Autonomy Software engineering team.  The team’s deliverables include: 

1. Documenting a detailed design for enacting a safe system that can be certified by public transportation authorities.
2. Implementing said design on mature prototype vehicles in demonstrations to customers, potential customers, and investors.
3. Expanding the design to include fail-operational capabilities that extend the overall system to safely give our customers a more comfortable experience.
4. Managing data collection, autonomy testing, and milestone demonstration events that showcase the system’s maturing capabilities, leading to a production system.  

Team members may work remotely and must be self-motivated.  

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated research intern with a strong background in machine learning to join our ML Perception team and apply your expertise to real-world multi agent autonomous driving and infrastructure challenges to help Glydcars see. In this role, you will focus on multimodal efficient deep learning for safety critical systems with built in redundancy and robustness. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will develop innovative models and algorithms to enhance our perception stack.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Implement state-of-the-art onboard multimodal multitask ML perception models, and finetune them to improve performance
• Develop custom adaptations (such as layers, loss functions, etc.) to improve performance on our datasetResearch and development in various areas, including multiview sensor fusion for redundancy, robustness, and safety critical operation; and scene understanding with a focus on anomaly detection.
• Design and perform experiments, and share and present findings, potentially as a peer-reviewed publication.
• Work with multimodal (camera, lidar, radar) datasets from a multiagent autonomous system

About the Role:

We're looking for a backend engineer who can own and evolve our Ticketing & Ride Request (TRR) system — the service that handles everything from a rider tapping "Request a Ride" to a vehicle arriving at their station. This is a high-throughput, event-driven system where reliability isn't optional; real people are standing on a platform waiting for their ride.

Meet the team:

The Network Platform team consists of a group of Network, RF,  software and cybersecurity engineers responsible for the end-to-end communication system design for Glydways. The team owns the cybersecurity that is responsible for providing secure, reliable, and diverse V2X communications. We work together with the Software, Vehicle Hardware, and the Autonomy engineering teams to produce cutting edge products that unlock the future of transit systems.  As a cybersecurity engineer in the Network Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security architecture for Operational Technology (OT) networks that integrate technologies such as 5G cellular, WiFi, Ultra-wide band, GNSS, automotive Ethernet, and more. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated knowledge on Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) compliance certification process
• Must have experience in performing Automotive Cybersecurity Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) of an ECU or system both at product and project level
• Demonstrated ability to maintain robust cybersecurity practices aligned with OT and automotive cybersecurity standards and regulations 
• Ability to perform security code reviews of source code by following secure coding practices and advise developers on remediating vulnerabilities

• Design, prototype, build, and test production embedded vehicle firmware.
• Evaluate, implement, test, and optimize applications in a real-time operating system environment.
• Working with algorithms teams to take advantage of unique hardware acceleration opportunities.
