Associate Director, AI Operations & Enablement 

The Enterprise AI team sits within Flagship's Information Technology organization and is responsible for AI strategy, governance, tooling, and enablement across the Flagship ecosystem. The team works cross-functionally within IT, Legal, Finance, HR, Communications, and the firm's business and scientific functions to ensure AI is adopted safely, responsibly, and with measurable impact. 

About the Role 

Flagship is hiring an Associate Director, AI Operations & Enablement to accelerate the impact of the Enterprise AI function. Reporting to the Senior Director, AI Transformation Lead, this person will own day-to-day execution across three core capability areas: AI education and capability building, AI strategy and use case portfolio management, and AI tool and vendor management. 

This is an inaugural role on a small, high-visibility team. The successful candidate will operate as a senior individual contributor with broad cross-functional reach, partnering closely with developers, scientists, and business leaders. The role is execution-heavy and ideal for someone who has led enterprise AI programs in a consulting or in-house capacity and is energized by building a function from the ground up. 

What You'll Do 

AI Strategy, Governance & Use Case Portfolio Management 

• Translate Flagship's enterprise AI strategy into function-level execution by partnering with leaders across the firm on AI roadmap creation and delivery. 

• Run a regular cadence of engagement with each business and scientific function to surface, intake, and prioritize use cases.  

• Partner with the AI engineering team to shape use cases, supporting use case owners in identifying the right data, technology, and stakeholders for efficient and effective design.  

• Track use case value/ROI throughout the life cycle and for the AI program overall. 

• Drive solution reuse across functions by maintaining visibility into what has been built, by whom, and what is reusable. 

• Operate the AI Operational Governance Forum by surfacing relevant AI product, feature, and use case developments and supporting decision-making and tracking around risk management. 

• Support the evolution of Flagship’s AI strategy, policies, and roadmap by staying up to date on relevant industry trends and internal needs.  

AI Education & Capability Building 

• Design and execute AI learning programs across the company that drive adoption while shaping responsible, secure, and cost-effective use of AI.  

• Build and oversee operations for the AI change champion network to scale AI adoption. 

• Develop reusable AI enablement assets and partner with Communications and Learning & Development to amplify. 

• Provide hands-on coaching to teams adopting AI tools across the business. 

AI Tool & Vendor Management 

• Provide support on AI tool evaluation, procurement, and lifecycle management across enterprise-wide and function-specific applications. 

• Support ownership, administration, and governance of core enterprise AI platforms, including settings configuration, feature rollout, internal communications, and ongoing user support. 

• Support vendor relationships and contracts in partnership with Procurement and Legal; track usage, license utilization, and consumption against contracted commitments. 

• Coordinate with InfoSec on AI-specific risk reviews, ZDR posture, agentic sandbox governance, and shadow AI monitoring. 

• Maintain the AI tool intake and approval process and the AI Product / Use Case records in Flagship's GRC system of record. 

What You Bring 

Required 

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in technology, AI, digital transformation, or management consulting roles, including meaningful recent experience leading enterprise AI, digital, or technology enablement initiatives. 

• Hands-on AI fluency. Power user of leading LLM platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) with practical understanding of capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use by task type. Comfortable rapidly prototyping with low-code tools and AI features. 

• Agentic AI fluency. Working understanding of agentic AI concepts and current capabilities, including autonomous and long-running agents, multi-step tool use, MCP and connector ecosystems, and human-in-the-loop design patterns. Able to evaluate where agentic approaches are appropriate, where they introduce risk, and how to deploy them safely. 

• Use case portfolio management. Demonstrated experience running structured intake, prioritization, and ROI tracking processes for AI or digital initiatives across a federated organization. 

• Vendor and tool management. Experience evaluating, contracting, and administering enterprise SaaS, ideally including AI/LLM platforms. Comfort working with Procurement, Legal, and InfoSec on contract review, DPAs, and risk assessments. 

• Enablement and program delivery. Track record running training programs, hackathons, or change management initiatives for non-technical audiences at scale. 

• Cross-functional execution. Demonstrated effectiveness operating without direct authority across IT, InfoSec, Legal, Finance, HR, and business stakeholders. 

• Communication. Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate between technical and business audiences and produce executive-ready materials. 

• Client-facing experience. Previous experience in a client-facing consulting, customer success, or IT business partner role. 

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or scientific field. 

Preferred 

• Prior experience in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare; comfort with the regulatory and IP-sensitivity considerations of these sectors. 

• Experience administering Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, or M365 Copilot at scale. 

• Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001) and GxP / research integrity considerations. 

• Experience with MCP servers, agentic platforms, and AI workflow automation tools (Zapier, Workato).

Senior Engineer, AI & Automation Cambridge, MA (Hybrid) 

Position Summary:  

Flagship Pioneering is building the infrastructure and engineering foundation to make AI a force multiplier across the company. This role sits within IT's Digital Platforms team and operates at the intersection of AI infrastructure, automation engineering, and enterprise use case delivery. You'll work directly with the Enterprise AI team and Digital Platforms to productionize AI capabilities at scale, including MCP (Model Context Protocol) builds and integrations, agentic tooling, and cross-functional automation pipelines. 

This is a high-ownership, hands-on engineering role. You will own the build and deployment of AI-powered workflows and systems across business functions, from intake through production. You'll also help establish the platform and tooling foundations that enable the broader organization to operate AI responsibly and at speed. 

What You'll Do 

• Design, build, and deploy AI use cases across Flagship business functions, including finance, legal, HR, research, and operations 

• Maintain AI infrastructure and automation platforms: MCP server builds and integrations, agentic frameworks, LLM (Large Language Model) orchestration, and low-code/no-code tooling (e.g., Zapier, Workato)

• Partner with the Enterprise AI Lead to scope and accelerate the AI use case portfolio, moving requests from triage to production 

• Build and maintain integrations between AI tools and enterprise systems (Coupa, NetSuite, Slack, M365, and others) 

• Establish MLOps platform to establish deployment, observability and feedback loops for deployed AI workflows: usage monitoring, output quality tracking, and prompt iteration cycles 

• Support evaluation and implementation of AI-enabled SaaS tools, including proof-of-concept builds and vendor assessments 

• Contribute to AI governance infrastructure: usage monitoring, ZDR (Zero Data Retention) compliance checks, sandbox governance, and documentation 

• Collaborate with Information Security on AI security posture, including data exposure risk, agentic workflow guardrails, and shadow AI detection 

What We're Looking For 

• At least 5 years of technical delivery experience  

• At least 4 years of software (python preferred) and automation engineering experience, with experience building and shipping LLM-based systems to production 

• At least 2 years' experience with cloud first architectures (AWS preferred) 

• At least 2 years' experience building and launching applications and solutions using standard DevOps and MLOps tools.  

• Hands-on development experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar) including prompt engineering, tool use, and multi-step agentic workflows 

• Building experience with MCP and other agentic tool frameworks 

• Familiarity with maintaining RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architectures, vector databases, and document ingestion pipelines 

• Working knowledge of enterprise systems including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems), and experience with enterprise automation platforms (Zapier, Workato, Make, or equivalent) 

• Ability to build integrations across SaaS systems using APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architecture 

• Strong judgment about when to build vs. buy, and how to scope an MVP vs. a production system 

• Able to identify high-leverage automation opportunities independently and push back on low-impact requests with clear reasoning 

• Clear communicator who can work directly with non-technical business stakeholders to translate requirements into scoped deliverables

About the role:

As an Associate or Senior Associate within Jacob (Jake) Rubens’ Pioneering Business Unit (PBU) at  Flagship Pioneering, you will ideate, research, and refine novel venture hypotheses, validate key underlying unknowns of biology or technology, and transition pressure-tested ideas into building a NewCo around the science.  You will help drive every facet of company origination from the early stages including identification and recruitment of critical partners and advisors, establishment of foundational IP, hiring and leadership of the early scientific team, and establishment of working norms and culture for the team.  In this role you will partner with stakeholders across the broader Flagship ecosystem to bring the full experience of Flagship to support your companies.  A successful candidate will become an expert on the foundational science of the company, frame and clearly communicate the strategy, and translate that strategy into a plan and lead operationalization of that plan alongside a Principal or Partner on the venture creation team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to and lead Flagship explorations to rapidly assess interesting areas of science and develop novel, actionable and high-value venture hypotheses
• Outline key scientific questions to enable venture hypotheses and develop experimental plans to rapidly create value and pressure test ideas
• Identify, build, and maintain relationships with appropriate academic KOLs and thought experts, ie, introducing them to the Flagship model, getting early buy-in, vetting/validation and de-risking key concepts of venture hypotheses

Professional Experience and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has a STEM-based PhD or MD from a top university and 2 or more years of experience in life sciences biotech, start-up or entrepreneurial activities. The candidate must have a passion for novel science and be operationally savvy.

IT Systems Administrator Cambridge, MA (In-Person) 

Position Summary:  

The IT Infrastructure Operations & Architecture (IT IO&A) team is responsible for IT Infrastructure from network port to cloud, and the devices in between. The IT IO&A team is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator who is able to bridge between help desk services and technical subject matter experts in Cloud, Network, and M365. The ITIO Systems Administrator will be the subject matter expert in all thing’s endpoint management. Duties range from helpdesk escalation support to automation and engineering designed to improve service delivery. This role is intended to interface with all the domains ITIO is responsible for including Scientific Cloud, Networking, M365, and Identity and Access Management. 

What You'll Do: 

• Provide tier 3 technical escalation support to Flagship Pioneering Help Desk for end user support 

• Develop, grow, and enhance endpoint engineering capabilities and automation. 

• Review and onboard new applications into Identity and Access Management  

• Perform onsite support in server closets including racking and unracking equipment 

• Travel to Flagship offices in the greater Boston area, remote offices, and occasionally internationally may be required. 

• Occasional on-call or after-hours support.  

What We're Looking For:  

• At least 5 years in IT and a minimum 2 years in house systems administration 

• Experience working with Internal IT business stakeholders to identify and document infrastructure requirements and problems. 

• Strong understanding of Windows 11 and Windows Server 

• Strong understanding of Microsoft Intune for user and device administration 

• Intermediate understanding with scripting and automation using at least one technology including Powershell, Terraform, Bash, Python, or an equivalent language 

• Intermediate understanding of Identity and Access Management technologies including EntraID, SAML, SCIM, Windows NTFS permission management. 

• Familiar with working in on-prem IT environments (server rooms, network closets, and IDFs).

Role Summary: Reporting to both the leadership of FSP Asia-Pacific and FSP Capital Solutions (US) , the successful candidate will play a critical role in helping the development of long-term relationships of potential investors based in APAC in FSP companies and FSP Funds as well as driving financing activities, facilitating both direct investments into FSP companies and Limited Partner (LP) investments into Flagship's global funds. In alignment and partnership with FSP APAC and FSP Capital Solutions, this individual will drive FSP’s engagement with institutional investors throughout the APAC region including sovereign wealth funds, family offices, venture capital firms, and other strategic partners. This role will be based out of one of FSP’s Asia-Pacific offices in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Investor relations and fundraising

· Work with leadership of FSP APAC and FSP Capital Solutions to nurture existing and burgeoning relationships with the institutional investor community in APAC

· Help identify and drive investment opportunities into Flagship’s Global Funds and direct investments in Flagship portfolio companies, with a focus on investors from APAC, including sovereign wealth funds, family offices, venture capital firms, and other potential strategic investors

· Help facilitate dialogue with the institutional investor community in APAC and connect any such investors with the relevant members of the FSP team to bridge investor interest with FSP offerings

· Regularly align priorities and report progress to FSP’s Capital Formation and APAC team to ensure full alignment and effective follow-up on leads

2. Strategy and outreach

· Partner with the rest of the FSP APAC team in Singapore, Japan and Korea to help implement strategic plans to enhance Flagship’s presence and capital raising capabilities within the APAC region.

· Plan and drive APAC investor-related reach and relevance in the region – e.g., organize and host regular investor events and briefings, presentations, and other engagement activities to promote Flagship's value proposition.

· Where relevant, support key workstreams on select strategic initiatives (e.g., partnerships) across the APAC region with the rest of the FSP APAC team.

Qualifications:

· A minimum of 15 years in capital formation, investment banking, private equity, or related fields, with a strong track record in fundraising and investment management in Asia-Pacific.

· Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with institutional investors, particularly within the APAC region.

· Deep understanding of the investment landscape in APAC, including familiarity with key players such as sovereign wealth funds and family offices.

Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards Strategy and Leadership

• Lead the strategy, design, and ongoing evolution of Flagship’s global Total Rewards philosophy across compensation, executive compensation, equity, benefits, and other reward programs.

People Operations

• Oversee key People Operations functions, including onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle processes, policy administration, compliance workflows, service delivery, and operational process excellence.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in Total Rewards, with significant depth in compensation strategy and experience leading broad, multi-functional teams.

Position Overview

Flagship Pioneering has a new and exciting opportunity for a high-energy, detail-oriented Corporate Paralegal to join its fast-paced, dynamic legal team. This role will report to the Senior Corporate Paralegal and work closely with members of the legal team to support Flagship’s corporate legal function across its growing portfolio of companies.

The Corporate Paralegal will assist with a range of corporate matters, including financings, corporate governance, equity compensation, and general corporate maintenance for Flagship and its cutting-edge, high-growth companies. This includes providing support on a variety of transactions and day-to-day corporate activities across both private and public companies—such as preparing and organizing documentation for financings; supporting equity compensation processes; and maintaining corporate records and governance materials. Position Overview

Flagship Pioneering has a new and exciting opportunity for a high-energy, self-motivated Corporate Counsel to join its fast-paced, dynamic legal team. The Corporate Counsel will report directly to and collaborate closely with senior corporate attorneys who oversee Flagship’s corporate legal function and advise on legal and operational matters for Flagship and across its portfolio. The Corporate Counsel will concentrate on financings, corporate governance, equity compensation, and general corporate matters for Flagship and its cutting-edge high growth companies. In this role, the Corporate Counsel may interact with members of Flagship’s finance and origination teams and senior members of the legal team.

Key Responsibilities

The Corporate Counsel will have the following responsibilities and opportunities:

• Partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel on a wide range of transactions and corporate matters, including venture financings, capital markets, M&A transactions, corporate governance, and equity issuances.
• Assist with the review, preparation, and negotiation of a range of financing and governance documents, including term sheets, financing documents, and board and stockholder consents, resolutions and minutes.
• Support financing and corporate governance matters across increasingly complex, multi-entity structures, including exposure to LLC governance.
• Work and coordinate with external counsel on transactions, including supporting deal execution, timelines, and deliverables.
• Provide support to Finance, HR, Compensation, and portfolio company teams on corporate governance, equity matters (including option grants, restricted stock, profits interests, and equity plan administration), and related policies and best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support board composition changes across the Flagship ecosystem, including assisting with documentation for director appointments and resignations, maintaining accurate board records, and facilitating related equity approvals.
• Provide legal counsel for cutting-edge high growth companies in the Flagship ecosystem.
• Support compliance initiatives, process standardization, and form development for the legal group, including designing AI-enabled tools and agentic solutions to improve efficiency in corporate legal workflows.
• Build strong working relationships across Flagship and with external partners.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• JD degree required and admission to practice law in Massachusetts or another U.S. state bar; outstanding academic credentials.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the corporate department of a nationally recognized law firm.
• Foundational understanding of equity financing, equity awards, stock incentive plans, and corporate governance.
• Experience working both collaboratively and independently on components of transactions, with a willingness to take on increasing responsibility over time.

We are seeking a Contracts System Manager to serve as the primary owner and administrator of Flagship's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and procurement systems. This individual will be responsible for system configuration, optimization, user support, training, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the Legal, Procurement, and Finance teams can efficiently manage contracts across Flagship and its portfolio companies. • Serve as the primary administrator for Flagship's CLM system (Cobblestone), including system configuration, user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and permissions management

Integration & Technical Operations

• Coordinate with IT on system integrations, security protocols, and technical requirements; serve as a trusted liaison between business functions, IT, and CLM vendor, translating technical constraints into business-friendly explanations and advocating for user needs in system design decisions

User Support & Training

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for CLM system users, including day-to-day troubleshooting, resolving workflow stalls, and addressing error messages 
• Onboard and train new users (both technical and non-technical) on CLM system functionality and related processes through hands-on coaching, live demonstrations, and personalized support; implement train-the-trainer models and adapt training approaches based on individual learning styles and departmental needs
• Develop and maintain CLM training materials, user guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); gather user feedback and recommend process improvements
• Support onboarding of new Flagship portfolio companies onto established contract standards and CLM processes, serving as a dedicated point of contact who builds rapport with new teams, addresses concerns with empathy, and guides stakeholders through change management during organizational transitions

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary liaison between IT and Finance, Legal, and Procurement teams, translating business processes into technical system requirements 
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with business colleagues across Flagship and portfolio companies to understand evolving contracting needs, anticipate workflow challenges, and influence adoption of standardized processes through trust, credibility, and demonstrated value
• Coordinate directly with external vendors, counterparties, and law firms on contract logistics and system-related clarifications, exercising diplomacy and sound judgment to resolve ambiguities, manage expectations, and maintain productive working relationships

Reporting & Analytics

• Build dashboards and generate contract metrics to inform Legal leadership and cross-functional stakeholders; analyze trends and provide recommendations to improve contract operations efficiency, presenting findings in stakeholder meetings and facilitating discussions to drive consensus on operational improvements
• Conduct regular system audits to monitor data integrity, system health, and key performance metrics (e.g., approval cycle times, contract turnaround)

Compliance & Process Improvement

• Participate in assessing, refining, and executing on future business requirements for the CLM system; contribute to template and playbook updates based on recurring issues and counterparty redline patterns 
• Support compliance with life sciences regulatory requirements (FDA, GxP where applicable) by ensuring contract workflows and documentation meet audit and traceability standards
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and user adoption across the contracting process

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Legal Studies, or related discipline 
• 3–5 years of experience as a CLM systems administrator, legal operations specialist, or similar role 
• Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and associated workflows; hands-on experience with system configuration, workflow design, and user administration 
• Understanding of procurement and finance processes, including budgets, payment terms, and vendor engagement

THE ROLE 

As an Associate or Senior Associate at Flagship Pioneering in Molly Gibson’s Pioneering Business Unit (PBU), you will ideate, research, and refine novel venture hypotheses, validate key underlying unknowns of biology or technology and transition pressure-tested ideas into building a NewCo around the science.  You will help drive every facet of company origination from the early stages including identification and recruitment of critical partners and advisors, establishment of foundational IP, hiring and leadership of the early scientific team, and establishment of working norms and culture for the team.  In this role you will partner with stakeholders across the broader Flagship ecosystem to bring the full experience of Flagship to support your companies.  A successful candidate will become the expert on the foundational science of the company, frame and clearly communicate the strategy, and translate that strategy into a plan and lead operationalization of that plan alongside a Principal or Partner on the venture creation team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Contribute to and lead Flagship model explorations to rapidly assess interesting areas of science and develop novel, actionable and high value venture hypotheses 

• Outline key scientific questions to enable venture hypotheses and develop experimental plans to rapidly create value and pressure test ideas 

• Identify, build, and maintain relationships with appropriate academic KOLs and thought experts, ie, introducing them to the Flagship model, getting early buy-in, vetting/validation and de-risking key concepts of venture hypotheses 

• Understand IP landscape, formulate initial strategy, and write seminal applications for the technology and company. Assess patentability of existing IP landscape, including of key competitors and of potentially licensable estate 

• Develop corporate strategy and operations plan for the company. Define value creation, identify application spaces, build out organizational chart, define company goals, timelines and resourcing and identify strategic inflection points to set the company on the path to rapid growth and success 

• Develop audience-specific pitches for company 

• Support business development activities and continue to evolve the story 

• Manage and coordinate early scientific and IP employees. Source, recruit and manage KOLs and early-stage employees as well as relationships with CROs. 

• Manage & lead scientific team (internal or external) and daily research. Manage operational tasks, including establishing lab facilities, purchasing, HR, real estate acquisition, etc. 

• Become institutional subject matter expert and transfer to active company team. Stay up to date on the literature, conferences, funding opportunities, and new developments.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS  

The ideal candidate has a STEM-based PhD or MD from a top university and 2 or more years of experience in life sciences biotech, start-up or entrepreneurial activities. The candidate must have a passion for novel science and be operationally savvy.

About the Role

Flagship's GRC program has matured from build to operate. We have a functioning GRC system of record in Jira, active compliance tracks across HITRUST, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, and SOC 2, and a TPRM workflow in production. What we need now is a hands-on practitioner who can execute against that infrastructure — someone who is as comfortable running a vendor risk assessment in Jira as they are prepping evidence packages for an audit. This is not a policy-writing or director-level role. It is a technical execution role for someone who gets things done.

What You'll Do

• Own day-to-day execution of the GRC system of record in Jira — maintaining control records, updating compliance status, logging implementation and auditor notes, and keeping the SOR current across all active frameworks
• Run TPRM assessments end-to-end: intake, questionnaire review, risk scoring, CISO decision documentation, and post-approval tracking
• Coordinate audit evidence collection and control testing activities across HITRUST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST 800-171 frameworks, working directly with the external audit firm
• Maintain the compliance calendar and drive sprint-by-sprint execution against framework deadlines
• Manage sub-processor and DPA tracking for portfolio company privacy programs, including gap identification and remediation follow-up
• Support DSR and privacy program operations, including data inventory maintenance and deletion workflow tracking
• Build and maintain GRC automation using AI tools (Claude, Jira automation, Zapier) to reduce manual burden on recurring compliance tasks
• Produce clear, accurate reporting on compliance posture for the CISO and cross-functional stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 3–6 years of hands-on GRC experience, ideally in a fast-moving tech or life sciences environment
• Direct experience working in Jira as a compliance or GRC tool — not just a project management tool; you should understand issue types, custom fields, bulk operations, and reporting
• Working knowledge of at least two of: HITRUST CSF, ISO 27001, NIST 800-171/CMMC, SOC 2, HIPAA
• Experience running vendor risk assessments — intake to decision — not just filling out questionnaires
• Comfort with AI-assisted work: you should already be using tools like Claude or ChatGPT to accelerate your GRC work, not learning to do so for the first time
• Strong written communication — you'll be producing evidence narratives, audit responses, and control documentation that external auditors and regulators will read
• Ability to operate with high autonomy; the CISO will provide direction but not day-to-day supervision

Nice to Have

• CISA, CRISC, CISM, or equivalent certification
• Experience with privacy program operations (CCPA, GDPR, DSR workflows)
• Familiarity with Drata, Vanta, or similar compliance automation platforms

The Senior Analyst, People Analytics will sit within the HR Operations and Analytics team and partner closely with HR and Systems/IT to improve the accuracy, consistency, and usability of people data across recruiting and the employee lifecycle. Position Overview

Reporting into theVice President, HR, the Sr.Director Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for the Lab Companies will be a key driver of the people strategy for the origination team members of our Pioneering Business Units at Flagship. Qualifications:

The Director of Financial Reporting, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is a core player in creating, growing, and building Flagship Pioneering early-stage companies. You will join the FP&A team in Flagship Labs Finance, primarily focusing on a set of NewCos or recent GrowthCos. You will be an instrumental player responsible for driving the annual planning cycle across the Flagship Lab companies, providing business insights to our leaders to measure progress on company performance and enhancing companywide financial reports, including enhanced analytics, finance modeling, cash flow management and consolidated reporting. Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain the financial models that inform and enable capital allocation in a dynamic business planning environment
• Work with Pioneering Business Units (PBU) leaders, their CFO/Heads of Finance, corporate teams, and the companies to develop and maintain the long-term value creation model 
• Partner with the PBU Controllers to support planning that is aligned with GL reporting structure and support functional and program costing

Qualifications:

• 10+ years’ experience in FP&A roles in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, preferably a high growth environment. Candidates with experience in MedTech and AgTech will be considered
• Experience with public companies preferred.  A combination with small private/start-up experience will be an advantage to thrive in a fast-growing and rapidly changing environment, comfortable with ambiguity
• Expertise building relationships with various stakeholders and working with senior leaders
• Direct experience with data manipulation and visualization tools is a plus (e.g., Power BI)
• Master’s degree in accounting or finance. MBA or CPA is a plus

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be an instrumental player in the accounting and financial activities for a portfolio of Flagship entities as well as supporting business and operational initiatives. In this exciting role, the Senior Accountant will have exposure to a wide range of exciting strategies, accounting and financial reporting systems and activities, as well as the opportunity to work with the VP of Finance and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in a timely and accurate manner, including preparation and posting of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany invoicing, account analyses, and accruals for multiple portfolio companies in accordance with the established close calendar.
• Partner with the Controller and FP&A team to support monthly financial reviews, maintain forecast models, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
• Develop and manage cash flow forecasts and oversee day-to-day cash management activities for a portfolio of companies.

About the Role

The Information Security team has strong detection and response capability and a maturing compliance program. This is a greenfield opportunity to build Flagship’s cloud security and application security engineering practice in earnest — with the CISO and Director of Security Engineering as your strategic partners and a well-resourced program behind you. You’ll define how cloud posture management, SSDLC security, and cloud-side DLP get done at Flagship — in deep partnership with the Infrastructure & Operations team, who are your primary counterparts for cloud architecture, network, and endpoint infrastructure. What makes this role distinctive is the expectation that you’ll build AI-augmented workflows from the start — using LLMs and agentic tooling to handle the routine 80% so your expertise stays focused on the 20% that actually requires human judgment. What You'll Own

• Cloud security posture management: own remediation execution against Wiz findings in close partnership with Infrastructure & Operations — building shared remediation playbooks, coordinating finding resolution across AWS environments, and ensuring security controls are implemented consistently with I&O’s infrastructure standards
• CI/CD and SSDLC security: design and implement security guardrails in engineering pipelines — SAST, secrets scanning, IaC security, container scanning — working directly with portfolio engineering teams, and building AI-powered pipeline security automation (e.g., LLM-assisted code review, automated fix suggestions for SAST findings) that reduces developer friction and scales security coverage beyond what manual review allows
• Cloud-side DLP enforcement: build and operationalize data loss prevention controls at the cloud and application layer, not just policy definition
• Cloud identity and access: own technical execution on Entra/Azure AD conditional access, BYOD policy enforcement, and cloud identity governance in partnership with Infrastructure & Operations, who manage the underlying directory and endpoint infrastructure
• Detection engineering (cloud layer): write and tune cloud-side detection rules and contribute to alert fidelity improvements in partnership with the SOC
• AI platform security: contribute to security architecture reviews and guardrail design for AI-powered portfolio products, including Bedrock and EKS-based platforms
• Serve as the embedded security engineering partner for portfolio company engineering teams — not a reviewer at the end of the process, but a collaborator throughout it

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in cloud security, application security, or a closely related security engineering discipline
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS security services (Security Hub, GuardDuty, IAM, SCPs, CloudTrail) and cloud posture tooling — Wiz experience strongly preferred
• Practical AppSec experience: you've integrated SAST/DAST/SCA tooling into CI/CD pipelines and worked directly with developers to resolve findings, not just filed tickets
• Experience with cloud identity platforms — Entra ID / Azure AD, including conditional access policy design and enforcement

• Partner with HR Operations teammates, Legal, and other stakeholders to ensure systems are designed and configured to enable compliance, controls, audit readiness, and consistent execution of HR processes.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Change Enablement 

• Build strong working relationships across HR, IT, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and other G&A partners to align systems strategy and operational delivery with business needs. 

• Support change enablement through documentation, process clarity, and partnership with HR Operations and other HR team members; formal training delivery is not a core responsibility, but this role will help ensure systems and documentation are set up for successful adoption.

Position Summary:

The Senior Facilities Manager will oversee maintenance and upkeep of equipment, machinery, general office area and the newly created Flagship Labs Watertown location.  This position will report to the Senior Director, Facilities and GMP Engineering Operations but will communicate with many stakeholders across the organization.  They will provide day-to-day support for lab and facilities operations by overseeing maintenance tasks under general guidance and will ensure continued compliance to cGXPs. This person will act as the single point of contact from a facilities infrastructure point of view to all Flagship Pioneering tenants within the building. Responsibilities:

• Establishes vision for Facilities, providing hands-on leadership and development of team; oversees execution of Facility Operations.
• Effectively develops and leads site services with accountability for execution of site capital projects, process control automation, plant maintenance and site maintenance to enable Flagship Labs operations and other support functions to meet or exceed business expectations in cost, quality, compliance, safety, culture and capital.

• Manages calibration, preventative and corrective maintenance of all GXP equipment, lab equipment, and building support utilities either directly or indirectly through contractor management; utility systems inclusive of but not limited to compressed gases, HVAC systems, electrical, life safety, and emergency power system (UPS).

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in a regulated environment, with 5+ years of Facility maintenance or Engineering experience.
• Direct experience maintaining large scale mechanical systems (HVAC/Refrigeration/Vacuum/Compressed Gases).
• Lab Design, Operation and Maintenance is a plus.

Position Summary:
The VP of Finance at Flagship Labs will serve as a strategic finance partner to a portfolio of early-stage platform companies (pre-Series A through Series B). This individual will advise company leadership on financial strategy while overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of each portfolio company, including month-end closing, cash management, budgeting and forecasting, administrative functions, and technology oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with platform company leadership teams to develop long-term strategic plans, define key milestones, and build detailed financial models and projections

The Lab Systems Analyst I supports the management, reliability, and continuous improvement of lab and research systems across Flagship’s internal and ecosystem companies. Lab Systems Management

• Support the administration and lifecycle management of lab systems, instrument software, and supporting infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 1–3 years of IT support, lab systems, or research technology experience, ideally within a life sciences or research-focused organization.
• Basic understanding of lab and research IT environments, including scientific instruments, lab automation, or research data systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and data storage concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Exposure to system administration concepts such as patching, updates, and system monitoring is preferred.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) is helpful but not a primary focus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Working Conditions

The Position:

• Actively participate in the analytics of an effective and efficient business development effort/team 
• Lead pharma profiling in terms of characterizing their positioning in the partnering landscape, understanding their structure and decision-making process, capturing the knowledge gained from deepening FSP relationships and driving additional knowledge capture on behalf of FSP and our companies 
• Own pharma contact interface and leverage for BD analytics 
• Prepare opportunity assessments with scientific/portfolio rationale, partnership framework and financial assessment, analysis of competitive landscape and comparable deal terms 
• Build internal champions to amplify FSP BD reach, including for biopharma account management and ask KOLs for data review

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the Communications and Public Affairs team to lead the development and execution of communications and brand strategies for a set of companies within Flagship Pioneering’s portfolio. Responsibilities include:

• Counsel to Flagship’s company founders and early company leadership, providing strategic guidance to emergent Flagship companies (Flagship NewCos) as they develop brand, voice, foundational messaging and overall communication strategies. 
• Lead brand development/visual identity and website design and development for NewCos, working with and overseeing outside agencies.
• Design and execute bespoke, integrated communications strategies for company launches, including all written materials, media engagement, and all social media elements. Identify and oversee PR agency support, as needed.
• Design and lead execution of communications strategies for both NewCos and a set of more mature companies (Flagship GrowthCos), including milestone announcements, internal comms, social and digital media, speaking opportunities, and issues management, partnering closely with company leadership.

Other

• Work collaboratively with other Communications & Public Affairs team members.
• Participate in weekly Communications & Public Affairs team meetings and collaborate with team members as needed to support broader team priorities that span events, government relations, digital, internal communications, and media relations.

Qualifications

• Exceptional research, writing, editing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven media relations track record, as well as the ability to see industry trends and craft insights into effective media relations pitches. Knowledge of and existing relationships with media outside the sphere of traditional media outlets.
• Strong diplomatic and persuasive skills.
• High degree of professional versatility and hands-on capability with a willingness to meet challenges head-on.

Flagship Pioneering is seeking an experienced Senior Counsel to join a growing Legal Transactions team that serves as the strategic legal business partner to the Business Development, Corporate Development and Pioneering Medicines teams and an integral member of the Legal Team. This role will be tightly integrated into the larger Legal Team with opportunities for broader collaboration and development.  

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as lead counsel providing full end-to-end support on strategic transactions across the Flagship ecosystem, including pharmaceutical collaborations, licensing transactions, R&D partnerships, M&A and other significant transactions.

• J.D. from a top-tier law school; licensed to practice in the United States.
• 8+ years of experience in complex life sciences transactions, including top-tier law firm experience; previous in-house experience is preferred but not required.  
• Deep expertise in pharmaceutical collaborations, licensing agreements, and other significant transactions; expertise in M&A is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations on complex, high-value deals in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
