ENSCO's Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division designs, develops, manufactures, and supports advanced technology inspection systems for national and international railway markets.
We are currently seeking a Junior Technician for our ATIP maintenance group which supports a variety of railroad transportation activities to maintain and ensure safe rail systems for the Federal Railroad Administration and railroad companies.
The incumbent will perform scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repair of diesel engines, electrical generators, brake systems, drive systems, inspection system instrumentation, electrical subsystems, and other railcar appliances. Occasional assignments conducting railroad track inspection operations may be performed. Update and maintain record keeping of performed work.
Job Responsibilities Include:
· Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs of rail vehicle and sub-systems (Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and optical systems)
· Complete installations and upgrades, inspections, repairs, and calibrations of measurement systems
· Coordination with design engineering for failure analysis, root cause analysis and product improvement and new system installations
· Analysis and repair of mechanical, electrical, sub-systems, and components
· Communication with work group, report on action taken during work evolutions, complete technical reports
Use and update drawings and diagrams used in repairs and building systems.
Qualifications Required
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical, welding/fabrication fields
• Ability to read schematics and/or diagrams for various systems
• Effectively troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems
• Competency in the use of electronic test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, and network analyzers
• Competency in the use of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess and maintain valid Motor Vehicle Driver's license
• Pass and maintain various safety training certificates
• Travel of no less than 25% per month
• This position requires the successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation. Qualified applicants must have resided in the United States for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years
Physical Requirements
• Willing and able to work long hours (approx. 12-hour shifts, although no overtime assumed or guaranteed)
• Lift and carry 50 lbs. for 150+ feet
• Climb a ladder and work at 15+ feet
• Ability to work in tight spots, under and about survey vehicles
• Willing to work in inclement weather
• Maintain professional conduct and appearance
• Ability to distinguish between colored signals as required for safe railroad operations

ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technician with demonstrated Ultrasonic Rail Testing experience to conduct railroad track inspection operations involving the use of measurement tools and systems, electronics troubleshooting, and computer operation. Position involves interpretation of railroad-published documents to derive train speed information; review and analysis of track measurement data for reporting; and operating hi-rail commercial motor vehicles. This position includes some vehicle maintenance for rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles. The incumbent will also complete regular housekeeping duties for safety and sanitation purposes aboard survey vehicles. In addition, as part of this role, you may expect to support non-Ultrasonic Testing surveys onboard ENSCO’s inspection fleet or conduct offline data assessment. This position is based at ENSCO's customer sites and requires the incumbent to routinely travel to and work onboard railroad track inspection vehicles and maintain a professional demeanor as a representative of ENSCO.

Work schedule – 3 weeks of continuous travel, followed by 1 week off – no work, it’s your time.
Live anywhere in the U.S. We fly you to work sites. We pay for flights, hotels, plus per diem.
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry 50 lbs. a distance of at least 150 feet.
Climb a ladder 15 feet high, in order to access roof spaces of survey vehicles.
Work in close quarters, under and about survey vehicles.

Passing a Federal pre-employment drug test is a requirement prior to performing duties in this position. Undergoing and passing a random drug and alcohol testing is a condition while performing duties in this position.

Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience maintaining electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical systems, involving troubleshooting and problem resolution with at least 1 year experience operating ultrasonic inspection systems with strong knowledge of the theory of operation and interpretation of A and B-scan data.
Level II (two) certification in Ultrasonic Testing inspection technology (UT/NDT) or able to acquire Level II qualification within 4 weeks of employment.
Experience with workplace safety programs.
Proficiency with computer applications such as MS Word; Excel; PowerPoint; and Outlook.
Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience conducting equipment/machinery inspections (periodic maintenance inspection, preventative maintenance) and equipment upkeep.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Operating System; transferring files on a network, copying, and pasting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with tape measure and similar measuring tools.
Functional knowledge of mathematics and fraction measurements.
Valid Driver’s License (need to complete a Department of Transportation medical examination to acquire a Commercial Driver Medical Certification)
Must be able to travel independently for business purposes, including but not limited to booking an independent vehicle rental and hotel accommodations.
