We’re currently recruiting for a engineering manager (Platform) to lead and develop a growing team of platform engineers responsible for the internal tooling, infrastructure, data pipelines, and special projects that power our global fleet of autonomous robot.

Offices based in Wallingford, Oxford but hybrid basis (circa one day per week on site) either commutable by car or circa 40 minutes via train from London Paddington.

Any experience within robotics or start up / scale up environments desirable along with B2B SaaS experience.

Responsibilities / Skills

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead Manager, or similar leadership role in a high-growth technology company, ideally with teams of 5–15 engineers. Must have previously worked within software or DevOps engineering and be able to demonstrate technical ability.
• Strong background in platform engineering, infrastructure, embedded systems, or a similarly complex technical domain. Solid understanding of system architecture, with the ability to review and challenge architectural decisions. Experience with observability, monitoring, and alerting at scale (e.g. Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus). Experience with robotics, IoT, or hardware-adjacent software is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop engineers at various career stages, with a genuine passion for helping people reach their potential.
• Experience managing teams working across multiple systems and technology stacks (e.g. Go, Python, TypeScript, React, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, real-time data, edge computing).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to frame technical work in terms of business value and navigate competing priorities from multiple senior leaders.
• Track record of operating effectively in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments where priorities shift, and pragmatic decision-making is essential.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across engineering, product, and operations functions.

Senior Platform Engineer / Go / React / TypeScript / Real Time Data /

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will join our Platform Engineering team a versatile group responsible for the internal tooling, infrastructure, and special projects that power our robot fleet and data pipelines. This role is unique; you won't just be building standard web apps, but developing software that interacts with hardware devices and handles complex, real-time data streams across a global fleet of autonomous robots

Any experience within robotics, start up / scale up environments and real time data such as WebRTC, WebSockets, gRPC, and Zenoh desirable

Responsibilities / Skills

• Develop and Maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling that supports multiple engineering teams with different technical requirements – enabling self-service, repeatable deployments, and high-throughput delivery.
• Internal Tooling & Infrastructure: Design and maintain robust software systems and internal APIs that support our robotics operations and data processing pipelines.
• Full-Stack Development: Lead backend development in Go while contributing to modern front-end interfaces using React and TypeScript.
• Real-time Data Systems: Implement and optimise communication protocols for real-time telemetry and video, utilising WebRTC, WebSockets, gRPC, and Zenoh.
• Data Management: Design and manage efficient data storage solutions using PostgreSQL and SQLite, tailored for both cloud and edge environments.
• Systems Thinking: A proactive approach to troubleshooting complex issues across the full stack, especially where software meets hardware or runs in Linux environments.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer / DevOps / Cloud / Docker / Go / Kubernetes /

We’re currently recruiting for a senior infrastructure engineer to define, build and operate the infrastructure and tooling necessary for our rapidly growing business. You will be responsible for supporting high-velocity deployment of user-facing applications, internal services, and infrastructure at scale, while ensuring stability, reliability and automation.

Offices based in Wallingford, Oxford but flexible hybrid basis (circa once every 4 weeks on site) 

Any experience within robotics or start up / scale up environments desirable along with experience working on multiple cloud platforms vs being tied to just one vendor.

Responsibilities / Skills

• Develop and Maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling that supports multiple engineering teams with different technical requirements – enabling self-service, repeatable deployments, and high-throughput delivery.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across a wide range of cloud providers, using Kubernetes, for both user-facing applications and internal services – provision, monitor, optimise cost, performance and reliability.
• Build infrastructure-as-code (IaC) with Terraform on Terraform Cloud, establishing standards for repeatable environments, reducing manual processes and increasing automation.
• Support monitoring, logging, observability and alerting systems, via Grafana, to support production health, incident detection, root-cause analysis and rapid recovery.
• Drive a culture of DevOps best-practice across teams: infrastructure reliability, deployment-velocity, automated testing, rollback strategies, security/infrastructure hardening.
• Mentor and guide less-senior DevOps/infrastructure engineers
• Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in DevOps, infrastructure or platform engineering roles in a high-growth tech company (scale-up) or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), infrastructure as code (ideally Terraform), containers (Docker), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD tooling.
• Proven track record of building and managing CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitHub Actions), automation frameworks and self-service developer tooling (Backstage).
• Strong programming skills in either Go or Typescript, and experience with configuration management tools.
