About the team:

You'll be part of the Growth engineering team, working alongside other engineers focused on acquisition, activation, and monetization. You'll own the marketing website — the front door to Descript that drives self-serve signups, and enables the enterprise sales motion. Own the platform

Ship the web experiences

• Build reusable components and page patterns that make new landing pages and campaigns quick to stand up without one-off engineering lifts

• Partner with Brand, Design, and Marketing to translate campaigns, landing pages, and brand work into production web code — fast, pixel-faithful, and performant
• Own the technical quality of what ships: accessibility, Core Web Vitals, SEO fundamentals (schema, rendering, structured data), and cross-browser/device behavior

Cross-functional enabler and partner

• Be the engineering partner Marketing, Growth, and GTM teams rely on to move fast without breaking the pipeline
• Enable self-serve content workflows through CMS so creative teams can publish without engineering bottlenecks
• Collaborate with GTM and Rev Ops to maintain guardrails on form and routing decisions that affect lead flow reliability

What You Bring

Required:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a meaningful amount of it focused on web frontend or marketing engineering
• Experience working with a headless CMS or visual editor (Contentful, Builder.io, Webflow, or similar)
• Solid foundation in HTML and CSS — you understand the DOM, can debug layout issues without a framework crutch, and take accessibility (a11y) seriously

About the team:

Descript's Agent launched in Open Beta in July 2025. Since then, we've been working on improving the user experience for chat-based editing, adding more capabilities into our agent, and improving our agent infrastructure to continue to scale as models get better and better. Automated video editing is an emerging category, and we're positioned to define it. Media companies want to turn thousands of podcast episodes into social clips. Marketing teams want to automatically create product demos for every release. Agencies want to process client content in bulk with consistent branding. And they want to do all of that at scale.

Scale UX research across the organization

• Coach PMs and designers to plan and run their own research, and increase the number of teams able to run high-quality research independently
• Manage research operations systems, automating where possible, for participant recruitment, feedback management, and insight sharing
• Introduce new methods, tools, and rituals to improve how research is conducted, managed and shared
• Find creative and pragmatic ways to bring employees closer to the voice of the customer

The role

As an early-to-mid level AI Growth Specialist (BDR) at Descript, you’ll be on the front lines of growth: sourcing and qualifying new business opportunities, building relationships with buyers across modern media, marketing, and enterprise teams, and creating pipeline for our Account Executives. You’ll be measured on activity, pipeline, and hand-offs that turn into closed revenue.

This role is highly cross-functional — you’ll work closely with Marketing, Account Executives, Customer Success, and Product to refine messaging, target the right buyers, and iterate on playbooks that scale.

What you’ll do

• Drive outbound prospecting through email, phone, social (LinkedIn), and inbound follow-up to generate qualified meetings for the AE team.
• Execute targeted cadences that combine personalization and scale; own the top of funnel for assigned segments.
• Qualify deals against MEDDPICC , build and maintain a healthy pipeline, and pass consistently high-quality opportunities to AEs.
• Hit weekly / monthly activity and pipeline targets (calls, emails, meetings, SQLs).
• Use CRM and sales engagement tools (Salesforce / Unify / Apollo / LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to track activity and report on funnel metrics.
• Collaborate with Marketing to test and optimize messaging, campaigns, and inbound conversion flows.

What we’re looking for

• 1–3 years of work experience (SaaS, AI or Investment Banking experience strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and meeting generation for quota-driven teams.
