Overview
Join our team as a Hardware Electrical Engineering Validation Engineer, where you will be pivotal in ensuring the integrity and functionality of emerging consumer electronics hardware. Your role will focus on validating and optimizing embedded systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical engineering aspects, including complex debugging and troubleshooting. You will apply your expertise with high-speed interfaces, lab testing equipment, and scripting to enhance the quality and performance of our cutting-edge technology. Your contributions will directly influence design improvements and product excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive validation and testing of embedded hardware systems, focusing on electrical engineering parameters.
- Perform complex hardware-level debugging and troubleshooting to identify and rectify design and functional issues.
- Debug electrical systems to ensure proper operation, signal integrity, and compliance with specifications.
- Work with and troubleshoot MIPI interfaces, as well as I2C and SPI protocols.
- Execute power consumption measurements utilizing current probes and other specialized tools.
- Flash firmware images onto hardware systems during testing and debugging processes.
- Utilize lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), MIPI analyzers, and high-speed interface tools for diagnostic testing and troubleshooting.
- Review hardware schematics and PCB layout as part of lab debugging and optimization
- Develop and execute exhaustive test plans based on product specifications, ensuring comprehensive coverage and accurate results.
- Create and present detailed test reports documenting findings and providing actionable insights to influence design decisions.
- Implement basic automation scripts using LabVIEW; Python scripting is an advantage to enhance testing efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with design teams to validate and troubleshoot hardware, contributing to iterative design improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Demonstrable ability to debug and troubleshoot issues at both electrical and hardware levels.
- Familiarity with MIPI, I2C, and SPI protocols and interfaces.
- Proficiency in utilizing lab test equipment and performing hands-on testing.
- Experience with lab equipment used for characterization of high speed interfaces, such as VNA.
- Competence in analyzing power consumption and ensuring signal integrity.
- Familiarity with schematics and PCB layout tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical engineering design, enhancing the ability to identify and resolve complex hardware issues.
- Familiarity with advanced MIPI protocol analysis and signal integrity testing methods.

Responsibilities
- Debug audio chain circuits, including codecs, embedded DSPs, headphone amps, speaker amps, and microphones, as well as related external circuits like PMICs and converters.
- Achieve electrical performance targets by employing data-driven design approaches, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Perform the validation and testing of audio circuit performance and the full audio system, covering rendering, capture, power consumption, and algorithm tuning.
- Design, specify, and implement product factory tests for audio system validation.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external hardware teams (System EE, Power/Battery) and software teams, focusing on audio system bring-up and debugging.
- Provide cross-functional leadership in audio system design to enhance and optimize audio quality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Acoustics or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in audio system design with a strong impact on cross-functional teams and leadership in audio quality improvement.
- Expertise in designing and debugging analog and digital circuits.
- Proficiency in product development tools such as SPICE simulation, Audio Precision, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, and schematic capture and PCB layout tools like OrCAD or Cadence.
- Proven experience with PCBA and product-level failure modes in both production and field settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- Experience designing circuits for the audio chain, including codecs, DSPs, and power supplies.
- Knowledge in transducer design and developing acoustic tests for laboratory and factory environments.
- Familiarity with Android and Qualcomm audio debugging tools, including adb, QXDM, QACT, and AudioReach.
- Understanding of transistor-level IC design and the silicon manufacturing process.
- Experience in audio speech quality testing and optimization using tools like B&K or ACQUA.
- Experience with coexistence testing for audio within a full product (as victim or aggressor)

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Hardware System Calibration Engineer to enhance the automation, calibration, and bring-up of wearable devices (e.g., augmented reality (AR) glasses) prototype hardware. In this collaborative role, you will work alongside hardware, firmware, and software engineers to ensure the seamless transition of AI/AR devices through different build phases. Your main focus will be on developing automated calibration workflows and maintaining calibration station infrastructure to optimize device readiness.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement test automation frameworks and scripts to boost calibration throughput and ensure repeatability.
- Support and maintain calibration stations dedicated to camera and sensor calibration on AR prototype hardware.
- Interface with lab equipment, including power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and optical test benches, to facilitate calibration workflows.
- Triage and debug issues across hardware and software encountered during the bring-up and calibration stages.
- Document calibration procedures, test outcomes, and failure analyses for ongoing development and troubleshooting.
- Participate in the software and hardware bring-up activities for AR prototype devices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in hardware bring-up, calibration, automation, or test engineering roles.
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for creating and executing test automation.
- Experience working with various prototype or pre-production hardware stages.
- Familiarity with lab test equipment and instrumentation used in calibration processes.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting proficiency across both hardware and software boundaries.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware flashing, and interface communication protocols.
- Proficiency with tools like GitHub, Linux, Bash, SSH, Python, and VS Code.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with AR/VR, wearable tech, or consumer electronic devices.
- Exposure to optical, wireless (RF), or sensor calibration processes and technologies.
- Experience using CI/CD pipelines or automated test infrastructure for efficient production workflows.

In this role, you will collaborate with electrical engineering hardware teams and PCB/Assembly vendors to design and refine cutting-edge PCB stack-ups. You will apply design constraints, perform component placement, signal routing, and design for manufacturability (DFM). Together with hardware engineers, you will undertake signal and power integrity analysis and manage the release of fabrication and assembly packages. Responsibilities
- Design of complex PCBs/FPCs integrating analog, digital, RF, Camera, Display, Audio, Sensors, and power charging components.
- Improve and optimize PCB/FPC design processes in collaboration with embedded hardware and PCB teams to ensure readiness for fabrication.
- Manage vendor and internal team engagements concerning placement, routing, DFM, and Gerber reviews to meet design standards.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive PCB documentation, including fabrication and assembly packages like Gerber, ODB, BoM, and related drawings.
- Work with hardware engineers and document control to release fab and assembly packages into a company-wide PLM system, authoring ECOs as needed.
- Collaboratively maintain and expand the ECAD library with ECAD librarians.
Minimum Qualifications
- Over 7 years of experience in PCB design utilizing Cadence design tool sets.
- Expertise in designing Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex boards, including HDI design and multilayer PCB techniques such as blind/buried vias and microvias.
- Adept at interpreting datasheets and schematics, generating netlists and constraints, and using schematics as a reference for layout and routing.
- Familiarity with PLM systems like Agile and understanding of IPC, JEDEC, IEEE standards.
- Skilled in applying layout design constraints for mixed/RF signal, high-speed signal impedance control, memory interfaces, power distribution, heat dissipation, and EMI optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience with PCB layout design using Cadence Allegro.
- Proven ability to manage all aspects of PCB design for high-volume consumer electronics.
- Experience in designing cost-effective consumer electronics with compact PCB footprints.
- Knowledge of EMC compliance and environmental safety standards.
