The Integrated Assistance team contributes towards this mission by making Gemini a personalized universal assistant that is natively present across devices and apps. We unlock useful generative AI experiences through deep OS and app integrations, including the quick access Android overlay, embedded app entry points, and novel screen context capabilities. As shepherds of the largest volume surfaces in Gemini, we aim to guide users to understand the value of generative AI, including unique capabilities outside of the full screen Gemini app. We are a global team with designers based in Europe and US, and engineering and product partners in those locations as well as India. We partner closely with other UX designers in the Gemini App team, including research and modelling.
Role
We are seeking a highly experienced, self-starting, and innovative Staff AI Product Designer to join our Gemini Integrated Assistance Team. As a key member of our team, you will work hand-in-hand with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to design and build intuitive solutions to help people around the world use Google’s best AI models to enrich their lives and realize their potential. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of how people interact with AI. You will be involved in all aspects of the design process, from conceptualization and ideation to prototyping and implementation in a fast-moving and highly collaborative environment.

The role of the Research Engineer will be to develop state-of-the-art methods for multimodal generative AI models, with a primary focus on image generation and editing. This role is for the team behind “Nano Banana”.

The Role
Research Engineers at Google DeepMind lead our efforts in developing novel tools, infrastructure, and algorithms towards the end goal of solving and building Artificial General Intelligence.
Having pioneered research in the world's leading academic and industrial labs, PhDs, post-docs, or professorships, Research Engineers join Google DeepMind to work collaboratively within and across Research fields. They are expected to independently build state of the art foundation models and research infrastructure, work with teams on large scale AI, and develop solutions to fundamental questions in machine learning and AI.
Drawing on expertise from a variety of disciplines including deep learning, computer vision, language modeling, and advanced generative architectures, our Research Engineers are at the forefront of groundbreaking research.

Demonstrated experience in multimodal generative modeling, especially combining large language models with visual generation (e.g., text-to-image/video systems, joint autoregressive and diffusion models).A keen eye for visual aesthetics and detail, coupled with a passion for creating high-quality, visually compelling generative content.
