About the Opportunity 

Design Intern

David Zwirner is seeking a Design Intern to work closely with the design team’s Senior Designer, Design Project Manager, and the Design Director. The intern will assist with all things related to David Zwirner’s design including but not limited to: exhibition invitations, ads, social assets, and the production of bespoke projects. 

Qualified candidates for this position should be self motivated, organized, detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and have an interest in art and design as it applies to a commercial gallery.

What you’ll do: 

   Day to day requests from the marketing, digital marketing, content, events and social teams:

• Bespoke designs for online and print applications. Templated digital and print ads, social assets, invitations, and newsletters. This will require adapting existing design systems to various formats

   You will learn and improve on the following:

• Development of design directions
• Visual research
• Asset organization
• Working with type, grids, layout, and sequence
• Prepping/exporting assets for print/online

What we would like you to have:

• Basic working knowledge of Figma, Indesign, Photoshop and After Effects.
• A strong interest in the contemporary art world.
• A proactive mindset—comfortable seeking out tasks, asking questions, and taking ownership of work.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.

The Summer internship runs from June through mid-August. Hours are 10AM – 6PM, 5 days a week. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of approximately 3 months for this role. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided.

About the Opportunity

Sales Assistant to Partner | $60k paid hourly, overtime eligible

• Support the Partner in all sales-related tasks, including sending offers and liaising with and following up with clients.
• Coordinate all sales administration, including liaising with the accounting team to create invoice paperwork. 
• Manage and maintain day-to-day calendar, travel, and itineraries.
• Responsible for organizing the Partner's inbox, and staying on top of all communication requests. 
• Work closely with artists; manage inventory, internal exhibitions, and administrative tasks.

What you’ll do:

• Work closely with the Partner and additional sales assistant on all relevant tasks.
• Provide administrative support to the partner, while strategically managing their time and travel.
• Liaise frequently with multiple departments within the gallery including but not limited to: Registration, Research, Client Development, Digital, Marketing.
• Manage all Post-Sale services for clients including sending invoices, tracking payments, and general follow up.
• Support the Partner and other team members with sales strategy. 
• Assist in drafting and monitoring any correspondences on behalf of the Partner.

What we would like you to have:

• 2-3 years in an assistant or administrative support role at a gallery.
• Experience supporting senior leadership with calendar management and travel itinerary. 
• Detail oriented with experience in managing upwards.
• Strong Multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and anticipate needs. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross departmentally. 
• Passion for and knowledge of contemporary art.
