As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer II at Carta, you'll spend your time building agentic systems to power new products, automate complex document workflows, and accelerate Carta's business. You will also work closely with the SRE team to develop Carta's infrastructure around LLM integration and agentic processes. Example responsibilities will include:

• Develop agentic systems to classify, extract and review data from complex financial and legal documents.
• Develop agentic systems for document acquisition and management.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and business teams to incorporate agentic and LLM-powered products and user-flows.
• Own, coordinate, and solve complex, cross-functional problems that extend beyond the traditional boundaries of machine learning.

At Carta, our Machine Learning team is on a mission to power data products and automation through cutting-edge techniques. We work closely with Carta's core business units and product teams to develop LLM-powered and agentic systems for document intelligence, fund administration, legal tech, customer onboarding and more. This role is foundational to our team, where you'll work with one of the world's most valuable datasets and document repositories. Our systems directly enable revenue growth and operational efficiency for the company.

Our team consists of specialized Machine Learning scientists and engineers, collaborating with product analytics and data engineering experts. About You

Candidates must have a strong foundation in machine learning and software development, be proficient in Python, and have an analytical mindset. You have a strong bias towards simplicity, are excited by “zero to one” projects, and can efficiently communicate findings to leadership. Example traits that we value:

• 8+ years of industry experience solving complex data problems with descriptive and predictive statistical models
• Proficiency with AI-assisted software development, multi-agent development, skills & AI integration into development processes
• Experience with large language models (LLMs) and their applications in document intelligence

Demand Generation Strategy and Management

• Collaborates closely with Carta GTM teams (including Marketing, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Ops) to jointly develop and execute demand generation strategies tailored to specific audiences—driving awareness, pipeline, and revenue growth.
• Coordinates cross-functional efforts to ensure seamless execution of demand generation campaigns, leveraging insights from product, sales, and customer teams to optimize targeting and messaging.
• Develops robust multichannel demand gen plans on an annual and quarterly basis, aligning stakeholders across Carta to roll out impactful campaigns with clear goals, resource allocation (time, people, budget), and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Works resourcefully within organizational constraints (budget, approvals, timing), iteratively testing creative tactics and adjusting programs based on performance data to maximize pipeline and conversions.
• Maintains strong internal stakeholder relationships and ensures responsive communication to drive alignment and address input, feedback, and requests relating to lead generation and conversion.

Marketing Communications and Enablement

• Partners with Carta sales, product, and customer advisory teams to deeply understand the decision journeys, pain points, and informational needs of our target audiences, informing content development and campaign design.
• Collaborates with content and customer marketing to produce mid- to bottom-funnel assets (case studies, product guides, customer success stories, webinars, solution briefs, nurture emails) tailored to customer needs and Carta’s value proposition.
• Surfaces and shares impactful customer stories and pipeline deals to derive insights, demonstrate value, and drive replication of effective demand gen tactics.
• Works with web, performance marketing, and digital teams to create and optimize landing pages, digital content, and conversion points for ICP-focused campaigns.
• Interfaces with the social and content marketing teams to activate compelling content on LinkedIn, Twitter, and other networks, amplifying reach and engagement among target audiences.
• Partners with product marketing to evolve tailored messaging and positioning as new product features and -specific solutions are launched.
• Coordinates with communications and PR to ensure a consistent story and support for major news, campaigns, launches, and thought leadership.

Events and Field Marketing

• Partners with Events team to develop and execute geo-targeted campaigns and networking opportunities in key hubs (e.g., New York, San Francisco, London), aligning content, speakers, and topics to target customer’s interests.
• Identifies and recruits top industry voices and Carta executives for event speaking engagements to strengthen credibility and thought leadership.
• Drives event promotion, registration, and follow-up activities with an eye on pipeline acceleration and maximizing engagement.
• Collaborates with lifecycle marketing to nurture prospect attendees and convert event interest into meaningful sales opportunities.

The Team You'll Work With

You’ll be joining our Integrated Marketing team, reporting directly to the Director of Demand Generation and Field Marketing. The Carta marketing team plays a vital role in our growth across all products, audiences and sectors.

About You

• Exceptional relationship management skills with internal stakeholders and executive leaders, especially across GTM teams (Sales, Product, Customer Success, Marketing, etc.).
• Maturity and strategic acumen to independently drive high-impact demand generation programs targeting sophisticated audiences, while aligning cross-functional teams to shared goals.
• Deep understanding of modern marketing functions—including digital, field, ABM, content, events, lifecycle—and proven ability to influence resources and priorities across teams to achieve demand generation objectives.
• Strong track record of designing, executing, and optimizing multi-channel, data-driven campaigns that create pipeline and accelerate revenue, ideally for complex B2B, SaaS, fintech or financial services solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in collaborating cross-functionally with revenue teams and influencing senior leaders to advance marketing initiatives.

• BA required; experience marketing to institutional investors or financial stakeholders highly desirable.

The Team You’ll Work With

We're looking for talented salespeople to join our Private Equity team, focused on selling fund administration. Our customers are primarily Private Equity and Private Credit Funds. Carta's platform allows these clients to track and manage their portfolios while liaising with their investors.

As a member of the Private Equity sales team, you’ll introduce top tier clients to our wide range of (Carta built) product offerings, including Fund Administration (via Carta’s event base accounting general ledger), digital KYC, portfolio management, reporting and analytics, investor management, investor portal, valuations, and data collection. 

Carta offers a tech-focused investor portal to both the fund GPs/Admins and also their investors/LPs, as well as their portfolio companies with our cap table offering. Carta has developed an equity ownership management platform exclusively for Private Equity Firms and their portfolio company management teams. This includes the first and only Advanced Scenario Modeling tool capable of handling the most complex Private Equity waterfalls, empowering deal teams, valuations teams and management teams to get out of excel and improve accuracy and time to insight for some of their most important strategic decisions.

The Team You’ll Work With

You’ll be joining our Carta Europe Valuations Team as a Valuation Analyst.

The Carta Europe Corporations Team is focused on providing services to our customers based in Europe and you will work closely with them to deliver audit defensible 409A, EMI and CSOP Valuations. You will also be responsible for answering auditing questions related to the valuation report you have prepared.

As a Valuation Analyst, you will be crucial in providing high-quality, defensible valuation reports for our European clients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Valuation Preparation: Preparing financial models and valuation reports for private companies, primarily focused on 409A, EMI, and CSOP valuations.
• Due Diligence: Conducting research and analysis on company financials, industry trends, and market comparables to support valuation conclusions.
• Audit Support: Collaborating with client auditors by providing clear, detailed, and persuasive responses to all valuation-related inquiries.
• Client Communication: Working closely with the Corporations Team and clients to ensure all necessary documentation and information are received in a timely manner.
• Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing enhancements to valuation methodologies and reporting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Technical Expertise: Sharing your deep understanding of Valuations with our Product Team to introduce product improvements;

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical professional with a passion for financial modeling and understanding private market dynamics.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience in business valuation, corporate finance, accounting, or a related role.
• Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

• Architect Regional GTM Strategy: Design and orchestrate comprehensive GTM strategies for the European market, ensuring new launches achieve deep market penetration and support aggressive pipeline and revenue targets

You’ll be joining our London-based marketing team who are responsible for growing the Carta brand across Europe. We're a small but active team who support a range of stakeholders across the business. We love sharing the Carta story and we're always challenging ourselves with finding new ways to achieve our goals.

The team reports up into the UK business unit, but we work closely with the US marketing team on global campaigns and we have the benefit of being able to get support on everything from paid campaigns, design, content and web projects.
