The Director, US Patient Marketing is a critical role responsible for shaping how the AYVAKIT (avapritinib) brand connects with patients and caregivers across the treatment journey. This individual translates the core consumer strategy and narrative into clear, cohesive branded experiences that drive engagement, consideration and long-term connection to the brand.

Operating within a highly cross-functional environment, this role partners closely with omnichannel, patient engagement, and broader commercial stakeholders to ensure branded strategy is consistently and effectively activated. Success in this role requires strong strategic thinking, the ability to translate data and insights into clear decisions and a focus on driving measurable impact and return on investment. The individual must be able to influence across stakeholders to drive alignment and momentum and identify new approaches to strengthen branded patient engagement and business impact.

This role reports to the US Direct-to-Patient Team Lead within the Commercial organization.

AYVAKIT is approved to treat patients with the treatment of adults with unresectable or metastatic GIST harboring PDGFRA D842V mutation (2020) and Advanced Systemic Mastocytosis (2021). AYVAKIT has the potential to become a standard of care in systemic mastocytosis with an anticipated filing in nonadvanced systemic mastocytosis in the second half of 2022.

What will you do?

• Lead the development and stewardship of the branded patient journey, including messaging strategy and overall experience design across patient-facing touchpoints, ensuring alignment with the overall consumer strategy and AYVAKIT core narrative
• Own the development and execution of core branded initiatives, including campaigns, patient materials and onboarding experiences, ensuring alignment to the patient journey strategy and business objectives
• Define branded success metrics and translate insights and performance data into strategic decisions, driving ongoing optimization and measurable business impact
• Guide branded omnichannel strategy in partnership with omnichannel lead, ensuring consistent messaging, effective activation and impact across key channels
• Own and evolve the branded messaging architecture, including core claims, and content strategy, ensuring ongoing differentiation, clarity and consistency
• Identify critical moments and barriers within the patient journey and develop strategies to drive engagement, consideration, and persistence
• Support the US annual brand planning process, including development of the branded tactical roadmap, ensuring alignment to business priorities and patient strategy
• Lead agency partners and collaborate closely with internal team members, providing clear direction, feedback, and decision-making to drive high-quality execution and reduce rework
• Represent branded strategy in cross-functional and leadership settings, clearly articulating rational to drive alignment and accelerate decision making
• Act as a thought partner in advancing consumer innovation and future growth opportunities, identifying new ways to strengthen engagement and drive business impact

What minimum qualifications do we require?

• BA/BS degree required
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, including direct involvement in marketing, sales, or market development activities. Previous in-line marketing experience a must.
• Required travel: Up to 25%

Compensation and Benefits 

The base salary hiring range for this position will be $215,000 -- $265,000.* Actual base salary offered for this position will be based on a number of job-related factors, including, but not limited to: experience (including skills and competencies), education, training and internal equity.

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific and clinical expert who strategically supports the medical objectives of Blueprint Medicines’ development programs. You are responsible for identifying, developing, and managing peer-to-peer relationships with a variety of healthcare providers, with a focus on dermatologists in both academic and community practices, but may also include allergists/immunologists, oncologists, hematologists, and gastroenterologists, as appropriate in a multidisciplinary care model. 

You will be accountable to engage in high quality scientific exchange about the science and clinical application of our precision medicine portfolio to a variety of external stakeholders, as well as obtain important insights about current practice, treatment landscapes, and emerging clinical and scientific data. In addition, you will be expected to build strong cross-functional relationships, as well as provide meaningful subject-matter expertise, to colleagues in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, R&D, Patient Advocacy, and Commercial, while maintaining full compliance with all relevant company, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements. You will report to the Regional Director of MSLs. 

What will you do?

• Identify key opinion leaders and cultivate a network of dermatology experts for Blueprint Medicines disease areas of focus 
• Respond to unsolicited requests and engage in meaningful, peer-to-peer scientific exchange of complex medical and scientific information with the rare disease community 
• Provide internal stakeholders with feedback and insights from interactions and discussions with HCPs 
• Deliver medical/scientific presentations to internal & external stakeholders 
• Assist with company-sponsored clinical trials and facilitation of investigator-initiated trials (ISTs) 
• Lead planning and execution of regional advisory boards 
• Collaborate with cross functional partners on internal projects and external initiatives 
• Provide educational meeting support at scientific congresses 
• Support training of cross functional teams  
• Adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance in all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information 
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

What minimum qualifications do we require?

• Advanced Clinical/Science degree or professional credentials required (MD/DO, PhD, PharmD, NP, PA) 
• 3+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs working with cross-functional in-house and field-based teams 
• Dermatology experience required; additional allergy/immunology, rare disease, hematology, or gastroenterology experience preferred 
• Extensive travel is required as part of this position (60%)

The National Account Executive (NAE) will serve as the lead point of contact for account management activities for assigned National accounts and play an integral role in the commercial reimbursement of Blueprint’s products, including educating payers regarding the disease state, population size, and therapeutic benefits Blueprint portfolio products. Key account responsibilities can include, but are not limited to, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), FFS Medicaid, Medicare, and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). The NAE will possess a broad and deep network of relationships with assigned accounts to execute the Market Access strategy. Most critically, the NAE is responsible for securing and managing optimal access and appropriate clinical criteria for Blueprint products. The NAE will also be responsible for developing and expanding business relationships with appropriate individuals within the accounts to meet the business needs of the customer and Blueprint. In addition, the NAEs will work closely with cross functional colleagues to address any payer or access issues.

What will you do?

• Deliver clinical and economic value propositions for Blueprint products to key individuals within assigned accounts to ensure optimal access and reimbursement for Blueprint products.  
• Analyze and understand payer environment, key account business dynamics and priorities, and align Blueprint priorities to create Account plans that deliver activities that contribute to the defined business objectives
• Develop and implement strategic account business plans in partnership with other key Blueprint team members including sales, precision medicine, brand teams, etc.
• Develop and grow business partnerships and relationships with Key C-Suite and administrative roles within an account (CEO, CFE, CMO, Director of Pharmacy, Director of Quality, Director of Actuarial Planning, Director of Case Management, Director Industry Relations, etc.) within assigned national accounts
• Develop a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of Blueprint disease state areas
• Strategically deploys resources (individual skills and company resources) before, during and after the formulary development process to maximum impact within the account
• Review and analyze product performance at the national and regional level and communicate account performance broadly with commercial business colleagues, brand teams and leadership.
• Monitor competitive landscapes, formulary changes, and policy developments
• Seek out opportunities for partnership to achieve both Blueprint and customer goals
• Understand and engage in key local, national health care issues/strategies, customer issues/trends and best practices to establish credibility beyond product and therapeutic areas
• Negotiate and manage product rebate cycles, contracts with direct customers when appropriate
• Maintain open communication throughout the organization especially in regard to cross-functional customer efforts
• Exercise sound judgment and oversight to ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications

What minimum qualifications do we require?

• Bachelor’s degree
• 10-12+ years relevant experience in payer account management
• Valid Driver’s License
• Position requires up to 60% travel

• MBA or Phar.D. preferred    
• 6+ years National Account experience highly desired
• In-depth knowledge of payer landscape
• Previous experience managing large payer accounts - (OptumRx, United Health care, Kaiser preferred)
