What the Role Is
As the Principal HR Business Partner - Operations, you’ll be the primary HR partner for Babylist’s Operations organization—Inventory Planning & Management, Supply Chain, and our Fulfillment Center in Commercial Point, OH. You’ll translate business priorities into people strategies that enable a complex, fast-scaling operations network to perform consistently, from corporate planning teams through frontline warehouse execution.
This is a fully onsite role, Monday–Friday. Your week will span time on the floor with supervisors and managers, coaching through employee relations and performance decisions, while also partnering with Operations leaders across Inventory Planning and Supply Chain who may sit outside the site. You might spend a morning working through a sensitive employee issue with a manager onsite, then shift into an afternoon reviewing workforce trends or advising on org changes with distributed leadership teams.
This role blends strategic partnership with hands-on execution. You’ll be most successful if you’re comfortable being highly visible, decisive, and closely connected to how the operation actually runs.
Who You Are
- 10+ years of HR experience, including 5+ years as an HRBP supporting Operations, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, or Logistics—this is not a fit for candidates coming primarily from corporate, HQ, or COE-only environments
- Deep experience supporting large hourly/non-exempt workforces in operational settings, with direct ownership of employee relations and performance management—not just advising from a distance
- Proven track record working onsite in warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environments—you’re comfortable spending the majority of your time close to the floor
- Expert-level ER judgment—you’ve personally handled complex investigations and escalations and can coach managers to make sound, consistent decisions without over-reliance on HR
- Experience building manager capability at scale—you’ve developed supervisors and managers who can independently lead their teams, not just rely on HR for direction
- Strong fluency in workforce and operational metrics (attrition, absenteeism, engagement, productivity), with a bias toward using data to drive decisions
- Highly credible and direct—you challenge leaders when needed, navigate tough conversations, and build trust with both executives and hourly associates
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Slack, with experience in HR systems such as Paylocity, Charthop, Lattice, Carta, or Radford

How You Will Make An Impact
- Build and implement a structured management development program that equips FC supervisors and managers to handle performance management, ER, and day-to-day people leadership confidently—reducing escalations to HR over time
- Design and deliver onsite training programs including new hire orientation, compliance training, and core management fundamentals
- Coach managers and assistant managers to develop their own supervisors, creating a scalable leadership pipeline across the operation
- Lead employee relations for the hourly population—investigating concerns, resolving issues, managing complex escalations, and reinforcing consistent practices across the FC
- Guide temp-to-perm conversion decisions, partnering with Operations leadership to evaluate performance and make consistent hiring calls
- Partner on workforce planning and org design, helping structure teams and roles to support both scale and day-to-day execution
- Collaborate with Total Rewards on compensation decisions and staffing strategies for the FC
- Own engagement and exit survey programs, synthesizing feedback into clear recommendations and action plans for Operations leadership
- Lead the people side of reorgs, leadership transitions, and operational changes—ensuring clear communication and minimal disruption
- Be the visible, trusted HR presence in the building—championing a positive, inclusive, high-performance culture every day
About Compensation
We use a market-based approach to compensation. The starting salary range for this role is:
$161,500 to $195,500
Your starting salary will be based on your location, experience, and qualifications, with increases over time tied to performance, role growth, and internal pay equity.

What the Role Is
Babylist is seeking a single-site General Manager, Fulfillment Operations role owning a 750,000+ square foot fulfillment center processing thousands of direct-to-consumer orders daily. You are the most senior operator responsible for the building’s performance — safety, cost, service, quality, and people — while partnering closely with the Director of Operations.This is a high-accountability role with real ownership, in a site that is actively becoming the model for how Babylist scales fulfillment.
Your days are hands-on and highly visible. You’ll lead three Operations Managers and a 300+ person, multi-shift workforce, moving constantly between the floor and leadership conversations. You’ll set direction, make real-time decisions on labor and throughput, and own the full financial picture — headcount, overtime, and total labor spend. You’ll work closely with your Director as a thought partner, but you are the one driving execution inside the building.
This is not a steady-state operation. The building is growing quickly (30%+ annually), systems are still maturing, and expectations need to be reset. You’ll need to create structure where it doesn’t exist, raise the bar on accountability, and lead your team through meaningful change — including new systems and automation. If you’ve already moved beyond this scope into regional or multi-site leadership, or prefer to lead from a distance, this will be a tough fit. This role is for someone who is still motivated by owning a single site and building it the right way, day in and day out.
Who You Are
- Currently a General Manager or single-site leader with 2–3 years in-seat at this level, actively leading a fulfillment or warehouse operation and motivated to deepen your impact in this scope
- 7–10+ years in fulfillment, logistics, or warehouse operations, including full P&L ownership (headcount, overtime, and total labor spend)
- Experience leading multi-shift operations with 200–300+ associates, including direct management of manager-level leaders (e.g., Operations Managers)
- Track record operating in high-growth environments (20–30%+ YoY volume growth) where processes and systems were still evolving
- Floor-present leadership style — you are in the building consistently, spending meaningful time on the floor engaging with associates and managers
- Strong partnership instincts — able to work closely with a Director of Operations as a thought partner while owning day-to-day execution independently
- Clear and effective communicator across levels — able to translate operational complexity into direction for frontline teams and concise updates for senior leadership

How You Will Make An Impact
- Own the full P&L for the site, managing labor cost, overtime, and workforce planning to meet financial and operational targets
- Lead and develop a 300+ person, multi-shift operation, building a leadership bench that scales with growth
- Drive day-to-day execution in the building, translating broader operational strategy into consistent, high-quality performance on the floor
- Reset and enforce clear performance and accountability standards across the operation
- Drive operational improvements that support 30%+ annual volume growth while maintaining cost discipline
- Build and implement scalable processes that prepare the site to handle significantly increased volume
- Lead the adoption of new systems and automation, ensuring strong execution and team buy-in
- Partner closely with the Director of Operations and cross-functional teams to align site performance with company priorities
- Establish this site as the operational blueprint for future Babylist fulfillment centers
Physical Requirements
While this role involves leadership and oversight responsibilities, it also requires regular physical presence and activity on the fulfillment floor. Physical expectations include:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10–12 hours per shift) with scheduled breaks
- Ability to walk the floor extensively, averaging 10,000+ steps per day
- Ability to lift and move items up to 20 lbs occasionally throughout the shift
- Comfort with pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and performing repetitive motions as needed to support team operations
About Compensation
We use a market-based approach to compensation. The starting salary range for this role is:
$161,000 to $180,000
