Main Responsibilities

As a Senior AI & Data Engineer, you will be the architect of the "AI Factory." Your role is less about training models from scratch and more about building the industrial-grade pipelines, infrastructure, and security frameworks required to run AI in a highly regulated environment.

• Production-Grade AI Infrastructure: Design and implement robust MLOps and LLMOps pipelines specifically for banking environments, focusing on data residency, air-gapping possibilities, and high availability.

• Data Engineering for AI: Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to feed RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems, ensuring data lineage, quality, and strict access control (RBAC).

• DevOps & Automation: Own the CI/CD lifecycle for AI assets. Automate the deployment of model APIs, vector databases, and monitoring stacks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Hybrid Cloud & On-Prem: Navigate complex hybrid-cloud architectures (Azure/AWS/GCP vs. Private Cloud) common in Swiss banking.

• Technical Advisory: Act as a bridge between IT Infrastructure, Risk/Compliance, and Business units to translate AI potential into stable, governed reality.

Candidate Profile

Engineer first, consultant second — with a builder’s mindset and a track record of shipping.

• Experience: 4+ years in Data Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering, with at least 2 years focused on deploying Machine Learning or AI systems at scale.

• The "DevOps" Stack: Expert knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins). Experience with Terraform or Pulumi is a strong plus.

• The "Data" Stack: Advanced SQL and Python. Deep experience with data orchestration (Airflow, Dagster), streaming (Kafka), and modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks).

• AI/LLM Implementation: Hands-on experience with the "plumbing" of AI: Vector databases (Milvus, Qdrant, or pgvector), model serving (BentoML, vLLM), and RAG orchestration (LangChain/LlamaIndex).

• Banking Domain: Solid understanding of financial data structures and the regulatory landscape (Model Risk Management, Audit trails, Data anonymization).

• Languages: English is mandatory. German (B2 or higher) is a significant advantage for the Zurich market and stakeholder management.

• Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Experience with responsible AI/governance frameworks, security reviews, and cost optimization.

• Domain experience in finance.

• Contributions to open-source, publications, or conference talks.

Vos missions :

• Cadrage et conception technique
  • Vous traduisez les besoins métiers en exigences fonctionnelles et techniques, en collaboration étroite avec les équipes client et les Product Owners.
  • Vous concevez l'architecture technique de projets data & IA complexes, en garantissant que la solution soit simple, robuste et évolutive.

• Leadership et supervision de la livraison 
  • Vous supervisez la livraison d'un ou plusieurs streams techniques, en garantissant la qualité du code, le respect des bonnes pratiques et des délais.
  • Vous participez directement à l’implémentation du projet ainsi que sur la résolution de problèmes techniques complexes.
  • Vous agissez comme le principal point de contact technique du projet, en assurant une communication fluide et pro-active.
  • Vous organisez et animez les revues de code pour améliorer la qualité globale du projet et faire monter en compétences les ingénieurs de votre équipe y compris sur la bonne utilisation des coding agents.

• Management et mentorat 
  
  • Vous dirigez et mentorez une équipe d'ingénieurs (juniors et confirmés), en favorisant un environnement collaboratif et en identifiant les besoins de formation.
  • Vous êtes un "advocate" du partage de connaissances, vous formalisez et partagez les bonnes pratiques au sein de votre projet et plus largement au sein d'Artefact.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Artefact you will work on all aspects of data engineering in multidisciplinary client teams. Vos missions :

o Analyse et compréhension des besoins clients 

• Vous travaillez en étroite collaboration avec le business en animant des ateliers pour étudier les besoins des clients 
• Vous êtes force de proposition dans la formalisation du problème, afin de s’assurer de cerner le vrai besoin
• Vous vous appropriez la culture et l’écosystème du client afin de maîtriser son contexte et assurer le cadrage technologique

o Conception de solutions

• Vous préconisez les solutions et les architectures cibles, en estimant la faisabilité ainsi que les risques d’implémentation de chaque projet
• Vous travaillez avec les directions techniques des clients afin d’identifier les solutions les plus pertinentes vis à vis de l’organisation
• Vous maitrisez les différents flux de données mis en oeuvre dans la solution ainsi que leur transformation, leur stockage et leur distribution dans un contexte Cloud (GCP et Azure)
• Vous mêlez pragmatisme et vision, créant des solutions réalistes qui répondent aux besoins futurs, et faisant preuve de scalabilité et fiabilité

o Suivi de l’implémentation

• Vous travaillez avec les équipes de développement et les data scientists afin de guider et faciliter la production et le déploiement des solutions
• Vous travaillez avec les équipes business afin d’itérer sur les solutions et travailler en agilité, tout en raffinant votre compréhension du besoin
• Vous collaborez avec les équipes client afin de faciliter la prise d’ownership de la solution, et sa pérennité

Profil :

• Issu(e) d’une formation ingénieur ou informatique, vous avez une excellente connaissance du fonctionnement des principaux composants d’une architecture technique moderne.
• Vous disposez d'au moins 5 ans d'expérience, qui vous permet de prendre de la hauteur vis à vis des sujets que vous traitez, pour autant vous possédez une ou plusieurs expertises : Architectures Data, Cloud, Architecture du SI, IoT, Devops…
• Vous avez au moins une expérience dans le conseil.
• Vous maitrisez l’anglais et vous avez des expériences réussies dans un environnement similaire (SSII, consulting ...).

Les plus:

• connaissance spécifique pointue des technologies cloud de Google (GCP), Microsoft (Azure) ou Amazon (AWS);
• expérience en développement logiciel
