About the Role
We are seeking a driven, analytical, and results-focused Business Development Manager to join our fast-paced and expanding Consumer (eCommerce & Apps) team in Shanghai. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new business line from the ground up and work at the intersection of performance marketing and business development within the rapidly growing Consumer(eCommerce & Apps) space.
In this client-facing role, you’ll partner with eCommerce brands and non-gaming Apps to unlock growth by leveraging AppLovin’s marketing platform. You’ll build strong relationships with key stakeholders, help them optimize campaigns, and lead strategic initiatives that drive business outcomes. You’ll also work closely with AppLovin leadership and product experts to evolve our Consumer advertising solution and drive adoption in the market.
Responsibilities
- Large Client Development & Expansion: Proactively identify, prospect, and onboard high-value enterprise clients in the APAC e-commerce and non-gaming app verticals. Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation, needs analysis, solution pitching, negotiation, to contract closing, and continuously expand business scale with existing key accounts to maximize revenue and partnership depth.
- Regional Business Growth: Develop and execute localized sales and BD strategies for APAC markets, deeply understand regional market trends, competitor dynamics, and industry demands of e-commerce and non-gaming app businesses, and capture emerging growth opportunities to achieve revenue growth.
- Strategic Partnership Management: Serve as the primary business contact for key clients, build long-term, stable, and strategic cooperative relationships. Conduct regular business reviews, communicate product updates and industry insights, and provide customized growth solutions to solve clients’ pain points in user acquisition and business scaling.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with internal product, operation, technical, and customer success teams to coordinate client onboarding, campaign optimization, project delivery, and after-sales support, ensuring seamless execution of partnership projects and excellent client experience.
- Industry Insight & Brand Building: Track and analyze APAC e-commerce and non-gaming app industry trends, market demands, and competitor strategies, output regular market analysis reports. Participate in industry summits, salons, and business events to expand industry resources and enhance AppLovin’s brand influence in the regional market.
- Sales Data & Report Management: Maintain accurate sales pipelines, track business progress, regularly submit sales reports, market feedback and business analysis summaries to the team, and adjust business strategies timely based on data results.
Basic Qualifications
- Industry Experience: 5 years of professional sales and business development experience in mobile ad tech, digital marketing, e-commerce, or non-gaming app industry, with solid APAC market operation experience and industry resource accumulation.
- Core Client Capability: Proven track record of large client development and account expansion. Experienced in negotiating and closing cooperation with mid-to-large e-commerce brands and non-gaming app developers, with outstanding large account operation and maintenance capabilities.
- Market & Industry Literacy: In-depth understanding of APAC e-commerce ecosystem, non-gaming app business model, mobile user acquisition and in-app monetization logic, familiar with regional mainstream media, traffic channels and industry competition patterns.
- Professional Competencies: Excellent business negotiation, presentation, communication and cross-team collaboration skills; strong goal orientation, pressure resistance and market insight, capable of independently completing full-cycle sales and BD work.
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Mandarin for daily business communication and client docking.
- Education Background: Bachelor’s degree or above in Marketing, Business Administration, International Trade or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the e-commerce space and brand operations.
- Existing mature client resources in APAC e-commerce or non-gaming app verticals are highly preferred.
- Previous working experience in international ad tech, internet or cross-border e-commerce enterprises.
- Familiar with AppLovin or other UA platforms.
