We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consolidation Software Support Specialist in the Japan region with a strong background in both accounting principles and technical expertise. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to clients using Anaplan’s Consolidation software, ensuring the seamless integration of financial data and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of consolidation processes, financial reporting, and can troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
Responsibilities:
Client Support:
- Provide exceptional support to clients using consolidation software, addressing queries, and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Guide clients through the implementation and configuration of consolidation software to meet their specific accounting and financial reporting requirements.
Technical Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to consolidation software, collaborating with internal development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
Accounting Expertise:
- Utilize your strong accounting knowledge to assist clients in understanding and implementing consolidation best practices.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations to provide accurate guidance on financial reporting requirements.
Training and Documentation:
- Develop and deliver training sessions to clients on the effective use of consolidation software.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including user guides and FAQs, to facilitate self-help and enhance the user experience.
- Software Enhancement Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between clients and the development team, conveying user feedback and enhancement requests.
- Collaborate with the development team to test and validate new features and updates.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounting roles with a focus on financial consolidation.
- Strong technical skills, including experience with consolidation software (e.g., Hyperion, SAP BPC, Oracle HFM).
- Ability to speak and write both Japanese and English
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.

Team Description
Join our global Level 3 Support Team, responsible for resolving the most complex technical issues experienced by Anaplan customers. This team operates at the intersection of technical excellence, product expertise, and customer support, working closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Customer Success teams to troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve system-level challenges. This role reports into the Level 3 Support Team Manager.
Your Impact
- Investigate and diagnose complex technical issues raised via support tickets
- Gain deep product knowledge across Anaplan’s platform and tools (e.g., Grafana)
- Collaborate with Support Agents to guide customers through sophisticated technical solutions
- Raise and track product bugs where appropriate
- Communicate investigation progress and outcomes clearly to internal teams
- Lead release reviews and onboard new product features to global Support Teams
- Document detailed investigations and share technical knowledge within the team
- Participate in an on-call support rota providing 24/7 emergency support for critical customer issues (approx. 1 weekend in 15)
Your Qualifications
- Early-career professional with at least 2-3 years’ experience in data analysis (Excel or similar tools), software development/quality assurance or Level 2/Level 3 technical support
- Experience of leading smaller team projects and/or mentoring colleagues
- Professional proficiency in English is essential, and fluency in Japanese is highly desirable.
- Experience of creating technical documentation and/or training
- Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical disciplines involving large datasets
- Quick learner with a curiosity for understanding complex systems and software behaviour
- Demonstrated passion for problem-solving and resilience in resolving challenging technical issues
- Analytical mindset with a methodical and detail-oriented approach
- Ability to thrive under time constraints in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with technical support environments, SaaS platforms, or complex data systems
- Experience working with monitoring tools such as Grafana (or willingness to learn)
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and managing multiple concurrent issues
- Team player comfortable working cross-functionally across global teams

Job Overview
As an L2 Support Analyst, your primary goal will be to deliver a first-class support experience to all Anaplan customers. You will be responsible for resolving complex and often critical support issues, acting as a key player in the customer's success and journey with Anaplan. You should be a problem-solver with a strong sense of empathy, emotional intelligence, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Ownership and Resolution: Take ownership and full accountability of L2 cases, prioritizing based on urgency and customer impact. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues to completion, ensuring clear and empathetic communication with the customer throughout the process.
- In-depth Technical Investigation: Research and investigate multifaceted issues related to the Anaplan platform and its integration technologies. This includes analyzing applications and server logs, replicating customer issues in a test environment, and working with engineering on bug resolution.
- Customer Collaboration: Communicate with customers through case portal, and when necessary, conduct live troubleshooting sessions with customers via calls and screen sharing to efficiently gather information and resolve issues in real-time.
- Knowledge Management: Create and maintain internal knowledge base articles and documentation to assist both customers and internal teams.
- Mentorship and Training: Assist L1 Support analysts with training and mentoring to enhance their product knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with L3 Support, Engineering, and Product Management on complex issues that require deeper investigation or architectural guidance.
Qualifications and Skills
Must-Haves
- 2+ years of proven experience in a Technical Support or Product Support role, investigating and resolving complex issues for a B2B SaaS company.
- Fluent in Japanese and English is critical
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-priority issues in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Experience supporting high-value, enterprise-level customers where the software is business-critical.
- A self-motivated, proactive individual with a passion for learning and helping customers achieve their desired outcomes.
Desirable Skills
- Anaplan Model Builder Certification (Level 1, 2, or 3).
- Systems such as Service Now, Salesforce, Grafana & Jira
