This role is an opportunity to work with a high-agency startup team operating in the hard-tech and energy systems space. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling the backend systems that power Amperesand’s factory software and interacting with ERP, analytics, and operational software platforms.

Responsibilities:
Architect and develop embedded firmware components that execute real-time power regulation, protection, and control algorithms for SST operation.
Own embedded bootloader architecture, embedded security, and common platforms
Lead firmware for power electronics embedded systems, ensuring functional and performance requirements are met
Work closely with hardware teams to integrate firmware with new or existing hardware components
Work with other talented engineers to solve complex problems, share knowledge, and ensure project milestones are met
Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and methodologies in embedded systems
Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, etc. with 5+years of professional experience or combined equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability
Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems.
Understanding of low-level programming and hardware interfacing.
Experience with one or more IDEs and debugging tools.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Knowledge of real-time programming concepts and real-time operating systems.
Ability to write efficient code under resource constraints (memory, CPU).
Experience with embedded system testing practices.
Knowledge of digital and analog electronics.
Ability to travel up to 20% including internationally
Excellent written and verbal communications

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will design, build, and own end-to-end software systems that interface directly with energy hardware, edge compute platforms, and cloud services. You will work across the stack—from low-level systems programming on Linux-based devices to high-performance backend services and user-facing applications. Role Summary
We are looking for a Firmware Manager to lead and grow the embedded software team responsible for the control, safety, and communication firmware that powers our converters and solid-state transformer platforms.
You will guide technical architecture, drive execution across multiple product lines, and build a team that consistently delivers highreliability embedded systems. This role is handson: you will both manage engineers and contribute to design, code reviews, system bringup, and debugging of real hardware.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of firmware, power electronics, and product leadership.
