Position Summary:

ATSNUC, Inc. an AccreditedLabs company is seeking a Lead Service Technician / Service Operations Manager to oversee and execute the full scope of our calibration and service operations. This role goes beyond standard calibration work—this individual will serve as the technical leader of the operation, responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, process oversight, compliance, and team performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical capability. The ideal candidate is not just a calibrator, but a problem-solver, system builder, and operational leader who can manage people, equipment, and processes while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and accountability.

Extreme attention to detail is critical. This role is ultimately responsible for ensuring that every piece of equipment, every data point, and every customer interaction meets ATSNUC’s standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Advanced Troubleshooting

• Serve as the highest-level technical resource for calibration, repair, and diagnostics
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving electronics, radiation-based equipment, and mechanical systems
• Perform and oversee calibrations, leak tests, repairs, and rebuilds
• Train and mentor technicians

Operations & Workflow Management

• Manage daily service queue and ensure turnaround time targets are met
• Oversee workflows from intake to delivery
• Supervise technicians and support staff
• Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of all equipment

Radiation Safety & Compliance

• Serve as or support the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and ISO/IEC 17025
• Maintain audit readiness and documentation

Customer Communication

• Act as primary technical contact for customers.
• Provide estimates, updates, and troubleshooting support.
• Maintain professionalism and responsiveness.

Quality Control & Final Review

• Review calibration data, reports, certificates, and billing.
• Ensure accuracy before equipment is returned.
• Maintain standards for cleanliness and documentation.

Inventory & Logistics

• Manage inventory and reordering.
• Oversee shipping and receiving.
• Ensure traceability and optimize inventory levels.

Process Improvement & Business Support

• Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
• Support new services and operational growth.
• Build scalable systems.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ Experience in technical service, calibration, or repair environments
• Strong troubleshooting ability (electronics and mechanical)
• Leadership experience preferred
• High attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience with Excel, inventory systems, and service tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with nuclear density gauges or similar equipment
• Experience with low-voltage electronics
• SO/IEC 17025 experience
• Prior leadership or management role
• Ability to train and build processes

Key Position Expectation:

This is not a standard calibration technician role. The individual is expected to think independently, solve complex problems, lead the technical direction, and take full ownership of results.

ATSNUC, Inc. an AccreditedLabs company is seeking a Laboratory Calibration Technician for a hybrid, field-based role servicing Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Illinois. This position involves performing on-site calibrations and minor repairs of lab testing equipment used in construction materials testing (concrete, soil, asphalt). Nearly all travel is performed during the winter months, when labs are not actively testing materials. The summer season is slower, offering flexibility, reduced hours, or time off depending on your availability and goals.

This opportunity is ideal for someone seeking either full-time year-round work or a seasonal schedule with time off in the summer. Technicians return home most evenings and are always home on weekends. For candidates with leadership experience and a passion for quality systems, there is significant growth potential into a Calibration Division Manager role as we expand.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a mechanical field with preference in calibration and minor repair of test equipment — dimensional, force, pressure, thermodynamic, or similar disciplines preferred.
• Experience with equipment such as compression machines, load cells, gyratories, ovens, Hamburg wheel, LVDTs, thermometers, and scales.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications for documentation, data entry, and reporting.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.

Key Responsibilities: Technical Services

• Perform calibrations and minor repairs on-site at customer facilities.
• Document all work clearly and accurately to meet ISO17025 and internal quality standards.
• Ensure gauges and lab equipment meet accuracy and performance specifications.

Customer Interaction:

• Serve as a professional representative of ATSNUC during on-site visits.
• Listen to customer needs, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction.
• Support troubleshooting and help identify opportunities for additional services.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership Growth:

• Utilize lean tools to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements to calibration processes.
• Actively contribute to building out ATSNUC’s regional lab calibration services.
• Collaborate with sales and management to develop service offerings and equipment investments based on customer feedback (“Voice of the Customer”).
• Demonstrate leadership qualities that could lead to advancement into a Calibration Division Manager role.
