You will join a team focused on building automation and research-enablement tools that integrate AI/ML capabilities into QRT’s broader technology ecosystem. The team collaborates closely with Data Scientists, Infrastructure Engineers, and Application Developers to embed LLMs and machine learning models into both user-facing products and backend systems.
Your future role within QRT
- Design, build, and maintain automation solutions powered by AI/ML technologies
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Infrastructure teams to integrate LLMs and ML models into production systems
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support robust, testable, and repeatable deployments
- Build scalable APIs and data processing pipelines for model inference and real-time analytics
- Stay current with advances in AI/ML and apply them pragmatically to business and research workflows
Your present skillset
- 1–2 years of professional software development experience with proficiency in Python
- Strong understanding of core Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, complexity, OOP, concurrency)
- Familiarity with AI/ML/LLM concepts and ability to work with Data Science teams
- Experience building automation tools and services, including those powered by AI
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with AWS is desirable
- Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to take ownership in a fast-paced environment

Why this role matters:
Vonage is looking for a hands-on SDET (Mid–Senior Level) to strengthen automation engineering across our modern microservices-based communications platform.
This role is deeply technical and delivery-focused. You will design and implement scalable automation solutions across UI, API, performance, and mobile layers, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
As part of the QA Centre of Excellence (QA COE), you will collaborate with engineering squads to build reliable, CI/CD-ready automation frameworks and promote best practices in BDD, microservices testing, and observability.
Your key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks.
- Build UI automation using Playwright (TypeScript).
- Implement BDD practices using Cucumber/Gherkin.
- Generate structured reporting and living documentation using Serenity.
- Develop robust API automation for REST and GraphQL services.
- Contribute to mobile automation using Appium (Android/iOS).
- Ensure test frameworks are modular, maintainable, and optimised for parallel execution.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or internal tools).
- Validate distributed systems across a microservices architecture.
- Implement: contract testing, schema validation, authentication/authorization testing and resilience/failure scenarios
- Contribute to SLA/SLO validation and service-level reliability checks.
- Collaborate with engineers to improve testability and observability.
- Develop and maintain performance and load tests using K6 (TypeScript).
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyse performance metrics using: Grafana, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch Datadog
- Partner with SRE and Platform teams to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability risks
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies.
- Work closely with Developers, DevOps, Product Owners, and Release teams.
- Maintain documentation in Confluence and track work in Jira.
- Provide visibility through Serenity reports and CI dashboards.
- Contribute to evolving QA engineering standards within the QA COE.
What you'll bring
Required:
- 5–8 years of experience in automation engineering or SDET roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with: Playwright (TypeScript), API automation (REST/GraphQL) and BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Gherkin)
- Experience working within AWS-based environments.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices testing.
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Working knowledge of performance testing with K6.
- Strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional Agile teams.
Experience we consider a plus:
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or EKS.
- Familiarity with contract testing tools.
- Exposure to telecom or communications platforms.
- Mobile automation experience with Appium.
- Experience contributing to shared, cross-team automation frameworks.
