Staff Software Engineer

About the role:
Raft is building mission-critical data platforms for the Department of War that process billions of events per day from hundreds of sensors and operational sources, delivering intelligence to operators who use it to make time-sensitive decisions. Our platform runs across multiple classification levels and deployment environments. We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team.
What you will do:
- Build data infrastructure and platforms using streaming frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Flink, and Kafka Streams
- Build Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines to enable comprehensive data operations
- Leverage software engineering principles to architect, develop, and implement large scale streaming applications
What we are looking for:
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with building and managing fault-tolerant, data-intensive platforms using popular streaming technologies such as Kafka, Pinot, or Flink
- Experience with large-scale relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch to handle low-latency requirements
- Experience in data management including ETL processing, data governance, and data storage
- Experience with building and deploying software in cloud-native environments
- Experience diagnosing and resolving container deployment issues within Kubernetes environments
- Experience using a variety of package managers/dependency managers including Maven, Gradle, and NPM
- Deep knowledge of software design and architecture patterns
- Obtain Security+ certification within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
Highly preferred:
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with monitoring (i.e. Prometheus, Grafana) and logging (i.e. Fluentbit, Kibana, Loki) solutions in cloud-native environments
- Solid understanding of Helm Charts
- Experience or knowledge of service mesh technologies, such as Istio
- Experience with supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure
- Experience in automation languages like Python or GoLang
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret Clearance to start and ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret
Salary Range: $140,000 - $190,000
- The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities

About the Role:
Veeam, following its acquisition of Securiti AI - the leader in AI-powered data security posture management (DSPM) - is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to drive technical leadership in our sales team, focusing on the Securiti AI portfolio. You will partner with a Securiti Sales Specialist and support 3–5 Account Executives and Veeam Solution Engineers as the technical subject matter expert.
You will guide customers from needs assessment to solution design, delivering hands-on demos and proof-of-concepts to showcase value. Success in this role requires strong technical skills and the ability to build trust with clients.

What You’ll Do:
- Act as the primary technical contact for Securiti AI solutions during the sales cycle
- Lead technical discussions and deliver customized security solutions
- Address customer needs in data discovery, posture management, and compliance
- Design and present product demonstrations and proof-of-concepts
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure smooth transitions
What You’ll Bring:
- Significant experience in pre-sales or sales engineering
- Strong understanding of data and/or cloud security
- Effective communicator with both technical and business stakeholders
- 10+ years technical sales experience in security
- 15+ years in Software/SaaS/Enterprise technical sales
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of data privacy/security standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001)
- Experience with DSPM frameworks, Linux, Kubernetes, or cloud data systems
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, or cloud-specific)

Overview
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Experiences Team. This team builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms. It's a critical role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product and infrastructure, thinks strategically, and is passionate about designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance the user experience.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with Speechify’s Product Teams to scope projects, find ways to reduce scope to get faster feedback from customers, navigate the integration/UX tradeoffs relevant to different product teams, and deliver solutions via our cross-platform SDK
- Optimize existing functionality to ship things like faster loading and more intelligent parsing by designing more efficient abstractions and improving our algorithms
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin

Overview
The responsibilities of our Platform team include building and maintaining all backend services, including, but not limited to, payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text to speech, and external APIs.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
- Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
- Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
- Proven experience in backend development: TS/Node (required)
- Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
- Efficiency in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact

Who we are:
Raft is building a real-time data platform for the Department of Defense (DoD), aimed at enhancing operators' awareness of critical events, including instances like the Chinese balloon and Cessna over the White House incidents. Central to this data platform is the aggregation of real-time data from over 750 sensors. This data is subsequently enriched, rendered queryable, and ultimately presented as a common operational picture to empower operators in making time critical and pertinent decisions. Our system efficiently handles the processing of over a billion events daily, all achieved with millisecond-level latency. Key technologies include Kafka, Kafka Streams, Pinot, Java, Scala, and Kubernetes. Your involvement in this role will encompass hands-on collaboration with a team of accomplished individuals, collectively striving towards excellence.
What you will do:
- Architect, develop and implement end-to-end cluster and application lifecycles
- Work with clients architecting, developing and implementing Kubernetes or Docker solutions both in the Cloud and on-premises
- Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines
- Implement GitOps for Software Delivery
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of relevant DOD industry experience
- 3+ years' experience with Docker and Kubernetes, provisioning production clusters and maintaining their compliance.
- Experience with building and managing data-intensive platforms using popular streaming technologies such as Kafka, Pinot, or FlinkExperience in data management technologies including ETL processing, data governance, and data storage
- Experience with AWS and/or other cloud computing solutions
- Experienced with building, deployment, release automation, or orchestration
- Experience with Kubernetes monitoring (i.e. Prometheus, Grafana) and logging (i.e. Fluentbit, Kibana, Loki) solutions
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
