Telnyx Edge Compute is our serverless platform — it lets developers deploy Go, Python, and Java functions directly onto Telnyx's global network, running application logic milliseconds away from end users. It's how our customers handle webhooks, voice and messaging events, and AI inference at the edge, without touching a server.
We're looking for a Go engineer to join the Edge Compute squad and help us build the platform behind it. You'll be working on the runtime, the deployment pipeline, the CLI, and the control plane that makes "write a function, deploy it globally" feel effortless. The systems you build will be used by every developer on Telnyx — so the bar for reliability, performance, and developer experience is high.
What you'll do
- Design and build the Go services that power our serverless runtime, function deployment pipeline, and global control plane.
- Make the platform feel great to use — clean APIs, a sharp CLI, predictable behaviour, useful error messages. Developer experience is a feature, not an afterthought.
- Diagnose and fix latency, throughput, and reliability issues across a system that spans data centres around the world.
- Build automation and tooling that lets us operate the platform safely at scale.
- Participate in on-call for the systems you build.
What we're looking for
- 2-5 years of professional backend software development experience.
- Proficiency in Go, or strong experience in a comparable backend language (Rust, Java, C++) with a real interest in writing Go day-to-day.
- Solid grounding in distributed systems — you've debugged a service-to-service problem in production and know what kinds of things go wrong at the edges.
- Experience running services in a high-availability environment, including being on-call.
- Comfort designing APIs that other engineers (internal or external) will actually use.
- Working knowledge of relational databases — when to reach for one, and when not to.
Bonus points for
- Experience building developer tools, platforms, runtimes, or anything where your users are other engineers.
- Familiarity with serverless or edge-compute platforms (Cloudflare Workers, Fastly Compute, Lambda, Fly.io, Deno Deploy, etc.).
- Experience with our stack: Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Prometheus, RabbitMQ, Jenkins.
- Experience operating systems across multiple regions or data centres.
- Open source contributions, particularly in the Go ecosystem.

Overview
The responsibilities of our Platform team include building and maintaining all backend services, including, but not limited to, payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text to speech, and external APIs.
This is a key role and ideal for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, is passionate about making product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users.

Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
- Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
- Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
An Ideal Candidate Should Have
- Proven experience in backend development: TS/Node (required)
- Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
- Efficiency in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact
- Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
- Preferred: Proficiency in deploying high availability applications on Kubernetes

Principais Responsabilidades:
Arquitetura & Design de Soluções
- Projetar, documentar e validar arquiteturas de sistemas, microsserviços e integrações corporativas.
- Avaliar requisitos funcionais e não funcionais, garantindo aderência a padrões de qualidade, segurança, disponibilidade e performance.
- Definir e manter padrões de arquitetura, modelos de referência e guias de boas práticas.
- Orientar equipes no uso de padrões de integração, APIs, mensageria, cloud e melhores práticas de engenharia.
Governança & Estratégia
- Atuar como guardião(ã) das diretrizes arquiteturais, contribuindo para evolução tecnológica e redução de dívidas técnicas.
- Realizar análises de impacto, avaliações de solução (Solution Assessment) e Estudos de Viabilidade Técnica.
- Apoiar o roadmap tecnológico, propondo inovações, modernização e otimização de plataformas existentes.
- Participar de comitês de arquitetura e apoiar tomada de decisão executiva.
Liderança Técnica & Suporte aos Times
- Colaborar com Product Owners, Tech Leads, SREs, Engenharia e Negócio para garantir soluções robustas.
- Acompanhar implementações críticas, fornecendo direcionamento técnico durante todo o ciclo de vida.
- Realizar validação de código, alinhamento técnico e revisão de arquitetura com as equipes.
- Facilitar discussões técnicas, promover troca entre times e fomentar boas práticas de engenharia.
Tecnologia & Inovação
- Atuar com arquiteturas baseadas em nuvem (AWS, Azure ou GCP), containers e orquestração
- Avaliar e propor soluções utilizando padrões modernos: APIs REST, GraphQL, filas/eventos, microsserviços, CI/CD, observabilidade.
- Apoiar times na adoção de ferramentas de monitoração, segurança e automação.
- Participar de provas de conceito (POCs) para validar novas tecnologias.
Requisitos
- Ensino superior em Ciência da Computação, Engenharia de Software, Sistemas de Informação ou áreas correlatas.
- Desejável pós-graduação/MBA em Arquitetura de Software, Engenharia de Software, Segurança ou áreas afins.
- Experiência sólida em arquitetura de software, engenharia ou desenvolvimento de sistemas.
- Domínio em arquiteturas distribuídas, microsserviços, padrões de integração e modelagem de dados.
- Conhecimento em tecnologias como Cloud: AWS, Azure ou GCP.
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes.
- Integração: APIs REST, mensageria (Kafka, RabbitMQ), Webhooks.
- Desenvolvimento: Java, C#, Node.js, Python (um ou mais).
- Observabilidade: Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, etc.
- Experiência com pipelines CI/CD, DevOps, automações e versionamento.
- Conhecimento de segurança da informação e práticas de arquitetura segura.
- Capacidade de elaboração de documentos técnicos, diagramas (C4 Model, BPMN, UML).
Desejável
- Certificações em arquitetura (AWS Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF, etc.).
- Experiência com ambientes híbridos ou de grande complexidade.
