ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the GC/MS Group Lead, the candidate will support the Chemistry and Regulatory Testing and regulatory submission for JUUL Labs. The GC/MS Scientist is a hands-on, laboratory-based role in Durham, NC that will be responsible in helping to test products for regulatory submissions at Juul Labs. The scientist is highly motivated, nimble at navigating complex challenges, a skilled multitasker, is adaptable and works effectively in a fast-paced environment and works collaboratively with the teams at Juul Labs.
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis on nicotine containing products by GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.
- Support method development and validation of test methods using GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.
- Perform routine maintenance on analytical instrumentation.
- Review and report data generated by GC/MS or GC/MS/MS.
- Write and review scientific documents in a timely manner. (SOPs, VOPs, and Work Instructions).
- Manage the regulatory testing data and documents systematically in a highly organized fashion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
A successful GC/MS Scientist will be able to successfully complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. They need to be readily adaptable to change while following established standard operating procedures.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with chromatography-mass spectrometry-based techniques.
- Proficiency with chromatography and mass spectrometry data analysis software such as MassHunter.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise written documents.
- Ability to communicate issues in a succinct and logical manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- High motivation and flexibility.
- Experience in a regulated laboratory environment such as ISO 17025 is preferred but not required.
- ENDS or nicotine-related products experience is preferred but not required.
EDUCATION:
- BA/BS in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related fields with a focus in GC/MS and GC/MS/MS.

What You’ll Do
- Design and build evaluation pipelines to measure AI and LLM output quality, including automated annotation frameworks and human-in-the-loop review workflows
- Apply NLP techniques to clinical and claims data to extract structured insights that inform product and health outcomes
- Build and improve search and retrieval systems that connect users to relevant, accurate health information using semantic search and RAG architectures
- Develop and ship generative AI applications — moving rapidly from proof of concept to production
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to translate ambiguous health problems into concrete, measurable data science solutions
- Stay current on state-of-the-art techniques and quickly evaluate what is worth building versus what is noise
- Lead cross-functional execution with stakeholders across product, engineering, and clinical teams
- Contribute to a team culture that is inclusive, intellectually honest, and moves with urgency
What We’re Looking For
You are comfortable owning problems end-to-end, shipping fast, and adjusting course when the data or product direction changes. You don't need perfect requirements to get started.
Core technical areas:
- Generative AI & LLMs — experience building applications with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, LangChain, or similar tooling
- Evaluation & Measurement — designing and building pipelines to assess AI/LLM output quality, including automated annotation, human-in-the-loop review, and defining metrics that reflect real health outcomes
- Clinical NLP & Claims Data — extracting structured insights from unstructured clinical text and/or working with medical claims data to understand patient journeys, diagnoses, and treatment patterns
- Search & Retrieval — building systems that help users find relevant health information, including semantic search, dense retrieval, and RAG architectures
- Behavioral modeling — understanding user engagement, retention, and habit formation patterns in the context of health behavior change
Preferred qualifications:
- PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., CS, Stats, or Physics) or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of industry experience, specifically focused on shipping production-grade ML/AI solutions in complex domains like healthcare
- Strong Python skills; experience deploying models in production environments
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and NLP techniques (Transformers, LSTMs)
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, or retrieval-augmented generation
- Hands-on experience with healthcare data (claims, EHR, or clinical text) is a strong plus
- Demonstrated ability to move from research to production — not just notebooks
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and communicating technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders

The Sr. Water Quality Client Solutions Manager (WQCSM) is responsible for selling advisory services, construction, and design-build water quality projects. The position is vital to the region’s sales and business development function and actively promotes RES’ solutions across the Southeast, including Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. This position can be based in Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC, Athens, GA, Charleston, SC, Nashville, TN, or an alternative / remote location within the Southeast may be considered.
The candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of water quality regulations and ecological restoration practices as they pertain to improving water quality, and will have experience in business development/sales, project development, and delivery, particularly in integrated or alternative delivery methods (e.g., design-build, pay-for-performance). This role collaborates with clients in early sales efforts to understand their water quality issues. The WQCSM coordinates with internal and external project team members to win business, execute projects, and drive growth in this sector. Key candidates will have experience with proposal writing/development, project discovery, advancing projects through a complex, lengthy sales process, and concept development.
The WQCSM works with the National Water Solutions Team to market watershed-scale integrated delivery projects in water quality and resilience directly to prospects and clients across the United States. The position is vital to the company’s strategic vision for landscape-scale restoration.
Responsibilities
- Achieve a defined annual sales target that enables RES to achieve its strategic growth plan
- Prospect and develop a sales pipeline of 4x to goal and drive growth in the core business and emerging strategic solutions
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams in the RES sales process to market its solutions to a list of target clients, to include working with RES’ marketing and proposal teams.
- Position RES as a strategic advisor that monitors relevant client issues and engages with innovative solutions
- Attend and speak at conferences and trade groups, and identify other external leadership roles to elevate brand awareness for RES and drive lead generation
- Monitor and share feedback about changes in customer behavior and preferences so RES can actively refine its offering
We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- BA/BS Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology, Engineering, Agricultural Science, or similar Science
- Three or more years of Regulatory or Environmental consulting experience as a “seller-doer” responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of projects
- Demonstrated existing relationships with public agencies and regulators, private developers, consulting and engineering firms, non-profits, and academia within the Southeast
- Demonstrated ability to sell to multiple stakeholders and create a consensus that enables a commercial booking
- Experience in the review and preparation of regulatory documents and deliverables, and responding to agency comments
- Advanced understanding of and experience with relevant environmental regulations and permits/approvals (e.g. CWA 404/402/401, NWP/IP, NPDES, ESA)
- Sound understanding of restoration design principles, approaches, and supporting technical information, such as engineering design plans, functional calculations, and ecological data
- Able to independently access state and federal databases to extract specific information and interpret and communicate the results of data collected
- Ability to travel up to 50% of your time, business depending
What will make you stand out?
- Strong familiarity with GIS capabilities and functions.
- Exposure to estimating, scheduling, and budget development for project delivery
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary team in a defined sales process to win projects

The Data Scientist will coordinate with our clients to understand questions and issues involving the client’s datasets, then determine the best method and approach to create data-driven solutions within program guidelines. This position will be relied upon as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and be expected to lead/assist in the development of automated processes, architect data science solutions, automated workflows, conduct analysis, use available tools to analyze data, remain adaptable to mission requirements, and identify patterns to help solve some of the complex problems that face the DoD and Intelligence Community (IC).
What You Have to Have:
- Active TS/SCI Clearance is required with the ability to obtain a CI Poly. 10+ years of relevant experience. (A combination of years of experience & professional certifications/trainings/degree can be used in lieu of the years of experience requirement)
- Senior-level proficiency in Python with demonstrated experience in designing mission ready solutions.
- Experience querying and integrating web APIs through Python to retrieve, normalize, and operationalize data.
- Experience developing interactive data visualizations using Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, or comparable tools.
- Experience building dashboards and analytic interfaces using Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying relational databases.
- Experience using Git-based version control platforms such as GitLab or GitHub.
- Proficiency with geospatial processing frameworks such as GDAL or ArcPy.
- Proficiency with GIS desktop software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
- Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation related to software systems and automated workflows.
- Ability to operate independently at a senior level with limited oversight.
- Familiarity with USSOCOM and broader U.S. military organizational structures.
- Familiarity with common Intelligence Community (IC) data repositories.

In this role, you will
- Own and deliver end-to-end analytics projects for Family Experience and Trust & Safety that drive team outcomes and measurably influence product/org outcomes, from problem framing through impact measurement; can range from telemetry implementation to reporting to automation (from Workato to ML)
- Solve ambiguous Family Experience and Trust & Safety problems by designing analyses, evaluating options/tradeoffs, and making independent decisions that keep work moving in a dynamic environment
- Execute team and product/org strategy through analytics planning: translate strategy into metrics, roadmaps/backlogs, and clear success criteria; contribute to setting team goals
- Build and maintain production-quality metrics, dashboards, and data models that monitor safety, parental controls, and age-appropriate experiences across Epic’s ecosystem

What we're looking for

THE POSITION
As a Technical Application Scientist (TAS) you will be a central influence in delivering a world-class customer experience with a focus on technical troubleshooting and general platform inquiries. The GMP portion is responsible to lead and coordinate the GMP/GHP and pest control programs at the site level to ensure full compliance with Mars global GMP-GHP, FSSC and regulatory standards requirements. Represents and manages the Quality Supply organization at the site. The Sanitation Manager portion is responsible to ensure that the manufacturing areas and the general office area remain clean and free of microbiological contamination and pest infestation.
Principle Accountabilities:
1. Develop and lead the implementation and maintenance of site GMP-GHP and pest control programs.
2. Direct supervision for Quality Conformance Coordinator (QCC) associates to effectively provide direction in IBO-setting and talent development based on current Q&FS strategy needs.
3. Drive GMP-GHP compliance to the MSS standard by coaching supply associates in the execution of the Area Ownership / Equipment Ownership standards.
4. Manage external contractors and suppliers designated to support GMP's and pest control programs.
5. Participate in Food Safety risk assessment for new equipment installation to ensure clean design principles are met and provide direction of GHP’s to the CVS team.
6. This position manages the sanitation of the facility, including oversite of the contracted cleaning crews, to ensure the factory continuously meets or exceeds established guidelines and standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Sanitation program:
- Manage the site Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) using a web-based program
- Develop, maintain, and improve Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
- Verify SSOP’s are being followed as intended. This may involve the need to support during weekend or night shift hours occasionally
- Trains sanitation personnel and operations on Sanitation Procedures, proper chemical usage and handling
- Manage the validation of cleaning procedures, including clean-in-place (CIP) system procedures
- Manage the Sanitation Inspection Program and address trends in non-conformities
- Complete risk assessments as required by the cleaning and sanitation standard
2. GMP program:
- Review and evaluate updates in Corporate, ISO or regulatory standards related to GMP’s to conduct gap assessments and identify opportunities for compliance.
- Lead the GMP Committee/Group for the site to drive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives while building functional competencies in GMP/GHP's across the different value streams.
- Lead GMP related projects in coordination with Engineering (hand washing sinks, sinks for equipment cleaning, drain cleaning, etc.).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives at the site (Exterior GMPs and Food Defense, Clean as you Go, 5S and show case areas of the factory).
3. External business partners:
- Review, verify and approve pest control plan proposed by external vendor.
- Verify monitoring and correction plans to prevent infestations in the facility premises, the factory building or any warehouse within the site control.
- Assess effectiveness of external partners for pest control and provide timely feedback to ensure mutuality principle is followed.
- Organize entomologist visits, site and warehouse assessments, and reporting and corrective actions management derived from internal audits.
4. Trouble shooting
- Provide direction and support to the operation to mitigate and control incidents related to sanitation, GMP, or pest control in close coordination with the site Q&FS manager.
- Consult and collaborate with the site Food Safety Scientist responsible for micro environmental control to address non-conforming verification testing results and develop actions to correct.
5. Verification activities
- Develop and manage site GMP inspection program (Schedule, training, corrective actions tracking, etc.); and provide visibility to the site leadership team of level of compliance against current requirements. Drive improvements based on findings.
- Maintenance of site level score cards related to GMP and pest control metrics and required input in the Q&FS Management review.
- Provide information to the site leadership team to ensure all resources required to execute GMP and pest control programs are assigned.
- Support QCC’s swabbing activities as and when needed during investigations.
6. Training and education:
- Coordinate with the regional teams and the site training department in the execution and completion of the mandatory training programs related to GMP's and regulatory requirements for the site. The role is also responsible to approve materials used to train all contractors on these topics.
- Partner with operations to provide training on SSOPs, sanitation chemical usage, and web-based sanitation worksheet completion
- In cooperation with the site QFS team continue to educate and upskill QCCs on fundamental programs such as Food Safety Plans, PRIMP process and incident escalations, Allergen Management, etc.
7. Line management and Budget:
- Directly responsible for recruiting, objective setting, performance assessment and talent development for QCC’s to enable effectiveness in PCQI process, micro verification sampling plans completion and other Q&FS implementation programs as needed.
- Oversight of site budget for pest control and GMP related spend. / Accountable for ordering consumables related to GMP, PPE, Cleaning, Sanitation and Micro monitoring.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years of experience in food industry
- GMP-GHP and food safety international and regulatory standards
- Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes from hot to cold, dust, dirt, and chemicals
- Computer/technical savvy; Works proficiently in: Excel, Nexus, Microsoft Office, Outlook, other necessary administrative programs
- Must be able to work at elevated heights
- Must be or have demonstrated the ability to develop into the site’s Subject Matter Expert in Pest Control and GMP practices

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Contract Scientist – Translational Biology to support mechanistic hypothesis testing and sample generation for rilparencel, our autologous kidney cell therapy currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical study, as well as next-generation cell therapy programs. This role will focus on primary human tissue/cell culture models (BSL-2) and the execution of multi-condition studies that generate high-quality samples for downstream molecular and NGS-based readouts. - Contribute to method development/optimization for primary tissue workflows (e.g., tissue handling, digestion/single-cell prep where applicable, culture conditions, sampling strategy, preservation), documenting protocol iterations and outcomes.
- Execute complex study layouts with many conditions, timepoints, replicates, etc when required.
Sample Processing & Molecular Assays
- Harvest tissue/cells and perform RNA/DNA/protein/metabolite extraction, quantification, and basic QC (e.g., yield, purity; integrity checks where applicable).
- Run and troubleshoot core molecular assays, such as RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, and/or reporter assays (e.g., luciferase), including control selection.
- Prepare assay- and omics-ready sample sets with complete metadata for internal use and/or external partners, as needed.
NGS Library Preparation & Omics Support
- Perform NGS library preparation for approaches such as RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and CITE-seq (bulk and/or 10x single-cell), including essential QC steps (quantification, sizing where applicable, yield assessment).
- Support handoff of libraries/samples to sequencing vendor pipelines, maintaining traceability of sample IDs, library indices, and processing conditions.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain high-quality experiment documentation (ELN) and accurate sample inventories (LIMS).
- Participate in interpretation translational data to uncover key insights for cell therapy mechanism of action elucidation.
- Communicate findings effectively across cross-functional teams, including research, process & analytical development, and clinical translation groups.
- Contribute to regulatory filings, scientific publications, and presentations at key industry and academic conferences.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, or related field.
Required Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with primary human tissue/cell culture and comfort working with human-derived materials in a BSL-2 environment.
- Experience executing multi-condition in vitro experiments with strong attention to detail and sample tracking.
- Experience with RNA/DNA/protein extraction and basic QC/quantification.
- Experience with at least two of: qPCR/RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, reporter assays.
- Hands-on experience with NGS library preparation for one or more of: RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CITE-seq (bulk and/or single-cell).
- Able to work effectively in a fast-moving R&D environment with multiple parallel experiments and time-sensitive sample processing needs.
Preferred
- Flow cytometry and/or FACS experience (sample prep, staining, acquisition and/or sorting workflows).
- Familiarity with common bioinformatics/QC concepts and tools used in sequencing workflows; familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python and/or R).

Overview
In this role, you will be a foundational member of Target RWE’s Quantitative Sciences (QS) organization, helping to establish Target as a leader in rigorous, reproducible, and regulatory-grade evidence generation. You will serve as a scientific owner of Target’s data, developing deep expertise in its structure, quality, and applications while helping to build scalable data validation, curation, and analytic processes that ensure reliability and usability.
Working closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Clinical Operations, and Medical Science, you will design and execute analyses that demonstrate the value of Target’s data, support customers across life sciences, regulatory, and academic settings, and build scalable, standardized analytic approaches for real-world evidence generation.
What You’ll Do
1. Data Ownership and Quality
- You will establish Target’s data as a trusted, validated scientific asset.
- Ensure Target’s data are accurate, complete, and fit for regulatory and scientific use by building systems and practices that establish trust in data integrity and readiness for analysis.
- Develop deep expertise in Target’s data, understanding its structure, provenance, strengths, and limitations.
- Design and implement validation frameworks, data quality checks, and “fitness-for-use” assessments.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries and documentation that promote transparency and reproducibility.
2. Analytical excellence
- You will apply advanced analytic methods and scientific rigor to generate reliable, reproducible, and regulatory-grade real-world evidence from Target’s data assets.
- Support the design and execution of retrospective and prospective studies using Target’s data assets.
- Develop statistical analysis plans and analytic code for descriptive, comparative, and predictive analyses.
- Design and implement scalable, reusable analytic frameworks and modular code structures that support consistent execution across therapeutic areas and data products.
- Apply best practices in methodology, version control, code review, and documentation to ensure reproducibility.
- Translate complex results into clear visualizations and insights for scientific, regulatory, and client audiences.
- Contribute to publications, abstracts, and collaborations that advance Target’s scientific reputation and influence.
3. Cross functional partnership
- You will work cross-functionally to connect data, science, and strategy, ensuring Target’s evidence generation aligns with customer needs and business goals.
- Partner closely with Commercial, Medical Science, Product, Data Insights, Engineering, and Clinical Operations teams to align on data strategy and analytic priorities.
- Serve as the internal “voice of the customer,” anticipating how clients, regulators, and researchers will use Target’s data.
- Participate in client and partner meetings to demonstrate the validity and value of Target’s data products.
- Leverage your deep knowledge of Target’s data assets to guide internal teams and external partners, anticipating analytical and operational challenges and helping to shape data use strategies.
- Translate analytic findings and data characteristics into clear, client-facing materials that demonstrate Target’s data quality, representativeness, and scientific utility.
What You’ll Bring
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, bioinformatics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
- 5-10+ years of experience working with real-world data (e.g., EMR, claims, registry, or clinical trial data).
- Strong programming expertise in R, and experience with reproducible analytic frameworks.
- Proven expertise in data quality assessment, validation, and curation workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain reproducible coding practices and scalable analytic processes that enable efficiency, transparency, and consistency across studies.
- Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills with cross-functional technical and scientific teams.
- Demonstrated ability to translate data insights into actionable scientific or business recommendations.
