ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the GC/MS Group Lead, the candidate will support the Chemistry and Regulatory Testing and regulatory submission for JUUL Labs. The GC/MS Scientist is a hands-on, laboratory-based role in Durham, NC that will be responsible in helping to test products for regulatory submissions at Juul Labs. The scientist is highly motivated, nimble at navigating complex challenges, a skilled multitasker, is adaptable and works effectively in a fast-paced environment and works collaboratively with the teams at Juul Labs.
A successful GC/MS Scientist will be able to successfully complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. They need to be readily adaptable to change while following established standard operating procedures.

The WQCSM coordinates with internal and external project team members to win business, execute projects, and drive growth in this sector. THE POSITION

4. Manage external contractors and suppliers designated to support GMP's and pest control programs.
5. Participate in Food Safety risk assessment for new equipment installation to ensure clean design principles are met and provide direction of GHP’s to the CVS team.
6. This position manages the sanitation of the facility, including oversite of the contracted cleaning crews, to ensure the factory continuously meets or exceeds established guidelines and standards.

This role will focus on primary human tissue/cell culture models (BSL-2) and the execution of multi-condition studies that generate high-quality samples for downstream molecular and NGS-based readouts. In partnership with the Translational Biology team, this scientist will contribute to experimental design and method development for workflows involving small human biopsy-derived samples, with an emphasis on reproducible execution, rigorous sample tracking, and clear communication of results.

In this role, you will be a foundational member of Target RWE’s Quantitative Sciences (QS) organization, helping to establish Target as a leader in rigorous, reproducible, and regulatory-grade evidence generation. You will serve as a scientific owner of Target’s data, developing deep expertise in its structure, quality, and applications while helping to build scalable data validation, curation, and analytic processes that ensure reliability and usability.
Working closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Clinical Operations, and Medical Science, you will design and execute analyses that demonstrate the value of Target’s data, support customers across life sciences, regulatory, and academic settings, and build scalable, standardized analytic approaches for real-world evidence generation.
