About the role:
As a fast-growing business, data is the connective tissue of everything we do - from understanding how customers discover us to deciding on which new features should be rolled out. We're looking for a Data Analyst who doesn't just build dashboards, but who asks the harder questions: why are users doing this, and what should we do about it?
You'll sit at the intersection of engineering and commercial decision-making - trusted by leadership to deliver reliable data and clear narratives, and trusted by the team to keep the pipelines humming. We are building Optiver’s next-generation Enterprise Data Platform on the Databricks Lakehouse. As an Enterprise Data Engineer, you’ll design the curated data models, pipelines, and metrics that make data a trusted asset across Finance, People, and Business Operations.
This is a hands-on role at the center of our data transformation: you’ll shape how business stakeholders access and trust data, working on one of the most modern stacks in the industry
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Build clean, scalable ELT pipelines using dbt, SQL, PySpark, and Databricks.
Design curated models and semantic layers to standardize KPIs across Finance, People, and Ops.
Partner directly with business teams to turn complex requirements into clear, reusable data products.
Implement governance and quality checks (lineage, testing, role-based access) so data is reliable and secure.
Deliver data products that power BI tools and self-service analytics.
Contribute to platform best practices (CI/CD, naming conventions, testing frameworks).
WHO YOU ARE
Experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering, ideally with exposure to Finance, People, or Business Ops data.
Advanced SQL and dbt skills, with experience modeling for analytics (dimensional, medallion, vault).
Hands-on experience with Databricks or equivalent Lakehouse platforms.
Understanding of data governance and quality frameworks.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.

We are looking for a Data Scientist - Commercial Insights to work with our Commercial teams (primarily marketing and supply) and leverage data to identify commercial opportunities from understanding the marketplace balance of the platform to scaling the demand/offering in a given category.
You will be part of the Data Science & Insights team helping us make sense of our data, finding actionable insights and creating self-service opportunities by combining data from multiple sources and working closely together with your colleagues in other departments.
In this role, no two days will be the same: you will build ad hoc analyses, design and analyse commercial activations, uncover trends in user behaviour, communicate about the impact of a new initiative or enhance the reliability of our data pipelines. Whatever the task, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Catawiki’s commercial strategy and influencing our stakeholders.
This role is a hybrid role based in our Amsterdam or Lisbon office.
Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire collaboration. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
