Verifone is seeking an experienced MySQL Lead DBA who will be responsible for ensuring database performance, high availability, and security of clusters and single instances of MySQL instances. You will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, HA/DR, and provisioning database instances. You will work closely with other teams, including application architects/ Sr. Developers and application support engineers for architecture design and SQL optimization, establishing and documenting best practices.

You will be responsible for ensuring that database management policies, processes and procedures are established and followed, adhering to ITIL good practice principles and are subjected to continuous improvement as per PCI standards. They will be responsible for reviewing system design changes to ensure they adhere to expected service standards and recommend changes to ensure maximum stability, availability and efficiency of the supported applications.
The candidate should understand the application functionality, business logics and work with application stake holders to understand the requirement and discuss with the new application features and propose the right solutions. He must liaise closely and work in collaboration with the release management teams, support teams and the infrastructure DBAs.

The role
As a Platform Engineer in our Cloud Foundations team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You'll join at a moment when we're moving our retail analytics platform from monthly bundled releases to continuous per-service deployment on Kubernetes. You'll be hands-on with that migration in your first few months and then stay on long-term as a core member of the team that owns and evolves the platform. It's a clear path into senior platform engineering for someone who has shipped production Kubernetes work and wants to grow their craft on a platform used by hundreds of engineers.

· 5+ years’ experience in designing and implementing data architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and DevOps pipelines (including Docker, CI/CD, etc).
· 6+ years working with SQL and Python.
· 2+ years working with dbt, using advanced macros and templating.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership - Lead and coach a team of four BI developers and data engineers. Define priorities, develop ways-of-working, shape delivery roadmaps, and embed a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Project Delivery - Govern the end-to-end delivery lifecycle across a portfolio of client projects, managing resourcing, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies to ensure workstreams are delivered reliably and at scale. Role Summary and Impact
As a Lead Data Engineer, based within our Wavemaker team, you will serve as the technical figurehead for the data engineering practice across WPP Media’s broader Business Intelligence & Data Engineering agency teams. You will be instrumental in defining, driving, and implementing best-in-market data engineering strategies and solutions, with a particular focus on the Measure data platform. You will work directly on Wavemaker clients and collaborate closely with the Wavemaker BI team, ensuring their data needs are met with cutting-edge solutions.
This is an influential role that combines deep hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership. You will be responsible for setting technical standards, fostering a community of practice among all our engineers across the agencies, and ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge, commercially viable data solutions that empower data-driven decision-making for our clients and internal teams. While you will directly manage one individual, you will act as the most senior engineer in the wider team, providing technical direction and mentorship.
