The Role

PhysicsX is developing a platform used by Data Scientists and Simulation Engineers to build, train, and deploy Deep Physics Models. The core of this platform relies on handling massive volumes of complex simulation data, enabling high-fidelity multi-physics simulation through AI inference.

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our product team. You will be one of a small team of Front-end Engineers, collaborating in a cross-functional team with autonomy to drive implementation decisions. You will build and evolve the frontend that brings our platform to life — from rich 3D visualisations of simulation data to seamless API integrations powering complex ML workflows. You will design composable frontend architectures, optimise performance for data-heavy interfaces, and ensure our engineers and scientists can interact intuitively with massive datasets and simulation results.

As a senior engineer, you will also play a key role in shaping technical direction — authoring Technical Decision Records, mentoring less experienced engineers, and driving the standards that keep our platform reliable, secure, and performant. This is a role for a builder who loves crafting exceptional user experiences as much as they love designing robust frontend architectures.

What You Will Do

• Build and evolve a frontend platform that supports complex simulation and ML workflows — from 3D visualisations to seamless API integrations and data-heavy interfaces.
• Design and implement composable frontend architectures and component systems, including micro-frontend patterns, to enable scalable and maintainable development.
• Optimise user experience through advanced caching strategies, performance monitoring, layout and paint optimisation, and accessibility best practices.
• Design and implement advanced state management and data flow patterns to handle the demands of real-time simulation data and complex user interactions.
• Own your work end-to-end — from architectural design through to deployment and maintenance in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Define performance standards and SLAs for the services you own; diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks in rendering, layout, and data handling.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on the implementation of security risk mitigation strategies and performance optimisations for frontend applications.
• Drive best practices in CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and infrastructure-as-code; build and maintain deployment pipelines including zero-downtime and multi-service deployments.
• Author and review Technical Decision Records; participate in Technology Radar reviews to evaluate and adopt new tools and approaches.
• Mentor junior engineers, facilitate technical discussions, build consensus around decisions, and translate research needs into well-defined technical requirements.

What You Bring to the Table

• Architectural versatility — proven track record building web-based user interfaces using a variety of architectural approaches — SPAs, server-rendered applications, hybrid architectures, micro-frontends — with a critical perspective on when each is the right choice. Experience with React and TypeScript is expected, but your identity is not defined by them.
• Web platform depth — strong understanding of how browsers work: rendering pipelines, layout and paint, networking, caching, the JavaScript event loop, and Web APIs. You optimise from first principles, not from framework-specific recipes.
• API and data handling maturity — experience designing frontends that integrate with complex backends via REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, and SSE, with attention to caching strategies, data access patterns, and forward compatibility.
• Reliability and observability mindset — experience defining performance standards and SLAs, implementing monitoring/alerting, and optimising observability in production environments.
• Security and accessibility awareness — familiarity with OAuth/JWT, XSS/CSRF prevention, WCAG, and ARIA standards; experience collaborating with backend teams on security risk mitigation.
• CI/CD and deployment expertise — hands-on experience building and optimising CI/CD pipelines (e.g. NX, GitHub Actions, monorepos), including multi-service and zero-downtime deployment strategies.
• Data visualisation experience — building rich, interactive visualisations using libraries such as Plotly, ECharts, Three.js, VTK, or WebGL to expose complex simulation data to end-users.
• Diagnostic and optimisation skills — a proactive mindset with the ability to identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks from first principles — in rendering, networking, and data processing — rather than relying on framework-level fixes.
• Communication and leadership — excellent communication skills to discuss data needs with research scientists and translate them into technical specifications. Experience mentoring engineers and facilitating technical decisions.

Ideally

• Polyglot Frontend Thinking: comfort working beyond the JavaScript ecosystem — whether that means WebAssembly, compiled-to-JS languages, or non-SPA architectures. Willingness to reach for the right tool rather than the familiar one.
• 3D and GPU Technologies: deep experience with WebGL, WebGPU, or WebAssembly for high-performance rendering of simulation data, meshes, and point clouds.
• Design Sensibility: understanding of the limitations and trade-offs of design, layout, and typography constraints in the browser, with the ability to work with designers to reach a middle ground.
• Advanced Testing Techniques: experience with fuzzing, deterministic simulation testing, or fault injection in production systems; strong foundation in E2E and integration testing across different architectural patterns.
• Domain Knowledge: understanding of 3D geometry processing (meshes, point clouds) and the specific data structures used in physics-based simulations.

The Role

The Principal Software Engineer role at PhysicsX is an individual contributor role with leadership and collaboration expectations. The Principal is expected to be an effective technical thought-partner to non-technical stakeholders, and is expected to contribute strongly to an environment of growth and development in the craft of software engineering across the organisation.

Engineering Applications make PhysicsX's AI platform usable by engineers in their daily work. The product group creates workflows and interfaces that span the engineering lifecycle, from design through manufacturing to operations, enabling engineers to harness AI capabilities. The suite ranges from ready-to-use applications that ship with the platform for engineers to use directly to a composable set of extensible components for teams who need to go further. Engineering Applications ensure that impactful AI capabilities are accessible to customers at scale.

What you will do

• Engage with product managers, designers, and users of Reference Applications to fully understand the what and why of the product’s functional requirements.
• Partner with the product leadership of Reference Applications to define the art of the possible with ambitious pragmatism, defining the how and when of product development.
• Take responsibility and accountability for the implementation of components and services by a team of software engineers, and actively participate in development by contributing to source-code, documentation, and CI/CD workflows.
• Design and maintain services that are fully interoperable with PhysicsX’s other platform services, while remaining independently versioned, tested, and deployed.
• Define, evolve, and advocate for a scalable, modular front-end architecture that enables reuse, rapid development, and long-term maintainability.
• Implement standardised instrumentation for metrics, logs, and traces and take responsibility for the teams’ prompt remediation of issues in production.
• Establish performance benchmarking to measure compliance with non-functional requirements, right-size infrastructure requests, and provide appropriate SLAs.
• Participate in establishing company-wide software engineering standards through engagement with the software engineering guild.

• Advanced TypeScript: conditional types, mapped types, and template literal types, with the ability to design type-safe API layers (tRPC, Zod, OpenAPI codegen)
• Build toolchain depth: Vite internals, custom plugin authoring, bundle analysis, and measurable build performance optimisation.
• Large-dataset rendering: virtualisation strategies (TanStack Virtual), WebGL/Canvas/WebGPU for high-performance visualisation.
• Server state architecture: TanStack Query or equivalent, cache invalidation strategy, optimistic updates, background refetching, and avoiding over-fetching at scale.
• Proficiency in Python and Go, with experience in other languages a plus (Rust, C++).
• A strong understanding of the machine learning development lifecycle.

About the Role:

We’re seeking an Senior DataOps Engineer II who can act as the hands‑on owner for Monolith’s data observability and operational surface: from batch and streaming pipelines running on our platform, through to the lineage, quality, and runbooks that keep customer environments healthy.

You’ll define and roll out DataOps practices (CI/CD, infra‑as‑code, data SLOs, incident response) across the Monolith estate, implement end‑to‑end data lineage and observability, and serve as the go‑to mentor for engineering teams and client‑facing colleagues on best‑practice data management.

In this role, you will:

• Own Monolith’s Data Observability & Operations Surface
• Design and implement the end‑to‑end observability stack for data workloads (metrics, logs, traces, and data‑quality signals) across batch and streaming pipelines.
• Define and maintain operational SLOs/SLAs for critical data flows powering training, inference, and analytics, and ensure they are measurable and actionable.
• Build dashboards, alerts, and runbooks that allow engineers and on‑call responders to quickly detect, triage, and remediate data incidents.
• Standardise “golden paths” for how teams instrument pipelines, expose health signals, and respond to data‑related failures.

• Implement Data Lineage, Quality & Governance
• Deploy and maintain end‑to‑end data lineage for key domains — from client sources through transformations to features, models, and downstream analytics  so teams can debug, audit, and reason about change.
• Define and roll out data quality checks (schema, freshness, completeness, distribution, drift) and ensure failures integrate cleanly into alerting and incident workflows.

• Drive adoption of infra‑as‑code for data infrastructure (e.g., pipeline orchestration, storage, observability components), reducing manual drift across environments.
• Define and continuously improve DataOps processes — incident response, post‑incident review, change review, on‑call rotations — with a focus on learning rather than blame.
• Evaluate and integrate best‑of‑breed DataOps and observability tooling where it accelerates our teams, balancing build vs. buy pragmatically.

• Partner Across Monolith, CoreWeave & Clients
• Work with Monolith platform, data, agent, and reliability teams to expose observability and lineage as shared services and patterns other engineers can build on.
• Collaborate with CoreWeave infrastructure and AI platform teams to leverage underlying storage, compute, networking, and observability in service of robust data flows.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for forward‑deployed and customer‑facing engineers when data issues cross service boundaries or require deeper architectural insight.
• Mentor data producers (product teams, integrations, forward‑deployed engineers) and data consumers (data scientists, analysts, client engineers) on resilient schemas, contracts, and operational practices.

Who You Are:

• Experience & Level
• Typically 5–6+ years of experience in DataOps, Data Engineering, DevOps/SRE for data platforms, or similar roles, including end‑to‑end ownership of production data pipelines and their operations.
• Proven track record of operating at Senior IC scope: leading cross‑team initiatives, introducing new practices/tooling, and improving reliability at the platform level.

• DataOps, Pipelines & Tooling
• Strong hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and operating data pipelines in production (batch and/or streaming), including failure modes, retries, and backfills.
• Practical experience with data orchestration and ETL/ELT tooling (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, dbt, Temporal, or similar) and comfort evaluating and integrating new tools where appropriate.
• Solid SQL and/or Spark skills and experience with at least one major analytical database or warehouse; familiarity with time‑series / telemetry data is a plus.

• Observability, Lineage & Data Quality
• Extensive experience implementing data observability — metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting — for data‑centric workloads.
• Hands‑on work with data quality frameworks and/or observability platforms to monitor freshness, completeness, schema changes, and anomalies.
• Experience deploying and using data lineage or metadata/catalog solutions, and applying them to debugging, compliance, and change‑impact analysis.

• Platform, Infrastructure & Automation
• Comfortable working in containerised, cloud‑native environments (Kubernetes plus at least one major cloud provider); experience with GPU‑ or compute‑intensive workloads is a bonus.
• Strong automation mindset: infra‑as‑code, CI/CD, and configuration management for data infrastructure and observability components.
• Proficient in Python for building tooling, pipeline glue, and platform integrations; additional languages are a plus.

• Collaboration, Mentorship & Communication
• Clear communicator who can explain complex data flows and failure modes to both deeply technical and non‑specialist audiences.
• Experience mentoring engineers and data practitioners on better data management, observability, and operational hygiene — through documentation, examples, reviews, and office hours.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, high‑ambiguity environment where we balance rapid iteration with the safety and reliability demanded by enterprise engineering clients.

Preferred:

• Experience in ML/AI platforms or MLOps environments where data pipelines power experimentation, training, and inference at scale.
• Background with test, simulation, or time‑series data (e.g., physical test benches, battery labs, automotive/aerospace R&D).
• Familiarity with feature stores, experiment tracking, or model registries and their interaction with upstream data pipelines.
• Prior work in multi‑tenant SaaS platforms, especially those with strong compliance, observability, and uptime requirements.
• Experience supporting or partnering closely with forward‑deployed / professional services teams in complex customer environments.

• Support the design of new build and refurbished overhead transmission lines between 11kV and 400kV.
• Apply mechanical or electrical engineering principles to the design of overhead line systems, components, and structures.

The Unity Studio Productions team is a group of highly skilled Software Developers and Technical Artists with deep expertise in the Unity platform, whose main goal is to help our customers improve their projects, internal workflows, and assist them in the resolution of very challenging technical problems, bridging with the Unity Engine team in the process. The Role

The Senior Simulation Data Engineer will extend and operate the infrastructure that powers our research Data Factory. You will be responsible for the end-to-end pipeline: from geometry preparation and simulation orchestration through validation, post-processing, and delivery to downstream ML training systems, using PhysicsX platform orchestration services where synergies exist.

This role sits at the intersection of HPC engineering and data engineering. You will orchestrate long-running CFD simulations at scale, build robust data pipelines, and ensure that every simulation we produce meets rigorous quality standards.

Team Context

In this role, you will be vertically embedded in Research , working daily with:

• Research Scientists who define data requirements and quality standards
• ML Engineers who consume Data Factory outputs for model training
• ML Infrastructure Engineers who are accountable for downstream training infrastructure

You will have end-to-end responsibilities over the Data Factory, with the autonomy to make architectural decisions and the responsibility to keep data flowing reliably.

Horizontally, you will be part of an infrastructure engineering group responsible for infrastructure across the company.

What you will do

Simulation Orchestration

• Extend and operate the Data Factory infrastructure that orchestrates thousands of CFD simulations per day on cloud compute
• Design and operate job scheduling systems that maximize throughput while handling failures gracefully
• Build monitoring and alerting to detect simulation failures, convergence issues, and resource bottlenecks early

Data Pipeline Engineering

• Build high-performance data pipelines that move simulation outputs from solver results to ML-ready training data
• Implement geometry preprocessing workflows (mesh preparation, morphing, watertightness validation)
• Design and operate post-processing pipelines: surface decimation, field interpolation, format conversion
• Optimize I/O performance for large mesh datasets

Data Quality and Validation

• Implement comprehensive validation checks at every pipeline stage: solver convergence, physical field bounds, post-processing fidelity
• Build systems that capture and quarantine bad data before they reach training pipelines
• Track and report data quality metrics across the entire Data Factory
• Work towards full provenance: training samples should be traceable back to their source geometry and simulation configuration

Integration and Delivery

• Deliver validated datasets to downstream ML training infrastructure in formats optimized for efficient data loading
• Design data versioning and cataloging systems that support reproducible training runs
• Work closely with ML Infrastructure Engineers to ensure smooth handoff between data production and model training
• Support multi-dataset training workflows

What you bring to the table

• Ability to scope and effectively deliver projects, prioritising activity as needed.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse issues, identify causes, and recommend solutions quickly.

The Role

PhysicsX is building a platform that enables Data Scientists and Simulation Engineers to build, train, and deploy Deep Physics Models. Our platform serves multiple tenants across highly regulated industries, making robust identity, access control, and operational visibility foundational to everything we do.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Services team, the team building the foundational primitives that gives our customers superpowers they've never had before. For decades, engineers have been trapped using siloed, rigid tools from the 90s. We're changing that by enabling secure, permissioned collaboration at the frontier of AI.

You'll design and build the enterprise grade systems that make this possible. From fine-grained permissions to instrumentation, you'll create the primitives that every product across PhysicsX adopts, ensuring every user, service, and agentic workflow is securely identified, correctly scoped, and fully observable. You'll own the infrastructure that keeps our platform trustworthy, transparent, and ready for the future of manufacturing and engineering.

• Design and implement authentication and authorisation systems, including identity provider integrations, token management, session handling, and SSO flows.
• Architect and build fine-grained role-based and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC) models that scale across multi-tenant environments.
• Own the platform's permissions layer end-to-end: from policy definition and enforcement through auditing and compliance reporting.
• Build and maintain telemetry infrastructure distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics collection, and alerting, to provide deep observability across services and environments.
• Define and enforce security standards across APIs and services, including schema governance, data segregation, and least-privilege access patterns.

The Role

As PhysicsX scales, the operational health, cost efficiency and developer experience of our platform become as important as the underlying infrastructure. Our Platform Operations team is responsible for everything that makes the platform observable, governable and pleasant to work with, from the monitoring stack and alerting pipelines through to the developer portal, CI/CD tooling and cloud cost management.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join Platform Operations. This is a role for someone with a strong DevOps background who cares deeply about operational excellence, developer experience and the sustainable cost of running infrastructure at scale. You will work closely with Platform SRE, Core Infrastructure and product engineering teams to ensure the platform is always observable, efficient and easy to consume.

What You Will Do

• Own and evolve the platform monitoring and observability stack, including Grafana, Loki, Mimir and associated alerting and dashboarding practices.
• Define and maintain SLO dashboards and alerting policies that give platform and product teams clear visibility into system health.
• Lead the adoption and operation of Backstage as the internal developer portal, building and maintaining plugins, service catalogue entries and golden path templates that improve the developer experience across PhysicsX.

What You Bring to the Table

• DevOps and platform operations background – significant experience in a platform operations, DevOps or SRE role, with a track record of improving reliability, observability and developer experience in a fast moving engineering environment.
• Observability stack expertise – deep familiarity with the Grafana ecosystem, including Loki for log aggregation, Mimir or Prometheus for metrics, and Grafana for dashboarding and alerting. Experience designing observability strategies for distributed systems.
• FinOps and cost observability – practical experience implementing cloud cost attribution and reporting across multi cloud or multi tenant environments, including familiarity with tools such as OpenCost, Kubecost or cloud native cost management consoles.
• Kubernetes knowledge – solid operational familiarity with Kubernetes, sufficient to deploy, debug and manage platform components and understand how infrastructure decisions affect operational outcomes.

The Role

PhysicsX is developing a platform used by Data Scientists and Simulation Engineers to build, train and deploy Deep Physics Models. As the platform scales to meet the demands of world class engineering teams, we are investing heavily in the runtime layer that underpins all workload scheduling, lifecycle management and compute orchestration.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Runtime team. This role sits at the heart of how we extend Kubernetes to support the complex, long running and resource intensive workloads that PhysicsX customers depend on. You will own the design and delivery of Kubernetes Operators and runtime components that define how our platform provisions, manages and recovers workloads at scale.

This is a deeply technical, hands on engineering role. You will work closely with Platform SRE, Data Integration and product teams to define runtime contracts, surface observability and ensure the platform is reliable, extensible and operable in production.

• Design, build and operate production grade Kubernetes Operators that manage the full lifecycle of PhysicsX workloads, including provisioning, scaling, health management and graceful termination.

What You Bring to the Table

• Kubernetes Operator experience – you have designed, built and operated at least one production Kubernetes Operator. This is a firm requirement for the role.
• Golang expertise – 3 or more years of professional Golang development. You write idiomatic, testable and maintainable Go and are comfortable leading code reviews and establishing patterns.
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge – you understand the Kubernetes API machinery, reconciliation loops, controller runtime, admission webhooks and custom resource definitions inside out.

As the platform evolves to serve increasingly complex engineering workloads, the foundational infrastructure layer becomes ever more critical.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform SRE Core Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for the design, provisioning and operation of the shared infrastructure that the entire PhysicsX platform depends on. You will work across infrastructure as code, Kubernetes cluster management, secrets management, GPU drivers, networking and multi tenancy architecture to ensure the platform is dependable, scalable and secure.

This is a role for an engineer who combines deep infrastructure expertise with a reliability engineering mindset and an appreciation for the developer experience of the teams that consume the platform.

What You Will Do

• Own the design and delivery of core infrastructure across multi cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on premises environments using Terraform and Crossplane.

• Kubernetes depth – 5 or more years of professional experience operating Kubernetes in production. You have a thorough understanding of cluster architecture, the scheduler, networking, storage and the API lifecycle. Kubernetes certifications such as CKAD, CKA or CKS are highly desirable.
• Crossplane expertise – significant hands on experience designing and operating Crossplane compositions, providers and managed resources in production environments.

• Develop automated testing strategies to ensure compliance with established standards for API schemas, messaging, and data segregation and access control at the service level.
• Manage observability metric cardinality to optimise cost and performance, and develop schema drift mitigation strategies that minimise impact to dependent clients.
• Contribute to the design of composable frontend architectures, component systems, and advanced state management patterns, while driving adoption of type-safe practices through shared type libraries and developer coaching.
• Optimise layout calculation, paint, and JavaScript execution in the browser, design effective caching strategies, integrate real-time technologies such as WebSockets and SSE, and collaborate with backend engineers on end-to-end performance improvements.
• Work effectively with designers to navigate browser constraints around layout and typography, and collaborate with backend engineers on security risk mitigation and performance optimisation strategies.

Ideally

• Confidence working across the full stack — you're at home reasoning about frontend architecture in React and TypeScript as well as backend design in Python, and you understand the tradeoffs in both well enough to make and defend pragmatic decisions.
• Experience building on top of large, established codebases — you know how to move deliberately, contribute incrementally, and improve things without breaking them.

The Mission

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and opinionated Principal AI Engineer to define how AI agents transform Engineering workflows across industries such as Manufacturing, Aerospace, and Semi-conductor. You'll be building the foundations that power next-generation simulation and design tools used by industry-leading engineering teams. Our platform allows Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) and customers to build and deploy deep learning surrogates that solve massive engineering challenges.

Your mission is to architect the Agentic stack within this wider ecosystem. You will build a production-grade platform that enables our Product teams, FDEs, and customers to compose advanced AI workflows safely, transparently, and reliably.

• You will set the strategic direction for our platform's critical infrastructure and lead key implementation efforts.

• Agent Deployment: Deliver an intuitive deployment lifecycle which simplifies questions around auth, discoverability and resource requirements.

The Role

The Principal ML Infrastructure Engineer will extend and operate the infrastructure that powers our research model training, fine-tuning, and serving pipelines. You will be embedded within our Research function, partnering directly with ML engineers and research scientists to ensure they can train Large Physics Models efficiently and reliably at scale.

Team Context

In this role, you will be vertically embedded in Research, working daily with:

• Research Scientists who determine the model architectures and methods
• ML Engineers who implement and develop the models
• Simulation Data Engineers who are accountable for upstream data pipelines

You will have end-to-end responsibilities over the research infrastructure, with the autonomy to make architectural decisions and the responsibility to keep data flowing reliably.

Horizontally, you will be part of an infrastructure engineering group responsible for infrastructure across the company.

What you will do

Training Infrastructure

• Design and operate distributed training infrastructure for neural operator architectures (Transolver, Point Cloud Transformer, etc.) on our large NVIDIA DGX B200 platform.
• Optimize training pipelines for throughput, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency, including checkpointing strategies, gradient accumulation, and multi-node synchronization.
• Build and maintain experiment tracking and observability systems that give researchers clear visibility into training runs, hyperparameter sweeps, and model performance.

Data I/O and Performance

• Solve data loading bottlenecks for large-scale mesh datasets.
• Optimize data pipelines for efficient I/O from cloud storage, including prefetching, caching, and format optimization.
• Work with heterogeneous data sources of varying formats and resolutions.

Model Serving and Deployment

• Build serving infrastructure for pre-trained LPMs, supporting both zero-shot inference and uncertainty quantification (Monte Carlo Dropout).
• Design and implement model packaging pipelines for customer deployment. Models must run reliably in customer environments with fine-tuning capabilities.
• Ensure reproducibility: any model checkpoint should be deployable with consistent behaviour.

Platform and Tooling

• Improve developer experience for the Research team with fast iteration cycles, reliable CI/CD, clear debugging tools.
• Collaborate with the broader Infrastructure team on shared patterns and standards.

What you bring to the table

• Ability to scope and effectively deliver projects, prioritising activity as needed.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse issues, identify causes, and recommend solutions quickly.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially in a research setting. You can translate "the model isn't converging" into infrastructure hypotheses and solutions, and can bridge technical abstractions with implementations.
• 5+ years of experience building and operating ML infrastructure at scale:
  • Deep expertise in distributed training: you've debugged NCCL hangs, optimized collective communication, and know when to use FSDP vs. DDP vs. pipeline parallelism
  • Strong systems fundamentals: Linux, networking (including domain specific NVLink and InfiniBand), storage I/O, profiling and performance optimization
  • Production experience with Kubernetes and SLURM for job orchestration on GPU clusters
  • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch strongly preferred)
  • Experience with cloud GPU infrastructure; ideally CoreWeave or similar GPU/HPC-focused clouds

Ideally

• Experience with geometric deep learning or neural operators, ****architectures that operate on meshes, point clouds, or graphs
• Background in HPC for simulation engineering, familiarity with how CFD/FEA workflows generate and consume data
• Experience building model serving infrastructure with latency and throughput requirements
• Familiarity with experiment tracking tools (Weights & Biases, MLflow) and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana)

We’re seeking an exceptional Principal Application SW Engineer to join our Japan-based within the Application Software team, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology for the Japanese market. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping our AV capabilities in Japan from the ground up.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the bring-up and early validation of our AI software stack on customer hardware platforms, ensuring seamless performance across diverse SoCs and operating systems. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Verification, Release, and OEM partners to ensure smooth integration and reliable delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Execute software bring-up on customer hardware platforms (e.g. NVIDIA Drive, Qualcomm Ride).
• Port and configure Linux-based systems, QNX, and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments.
• Integrate and validate drivers, middleware, and boot-time configurations.
• Collaborate with Verification & Release teams to integrate hardware into CI/CD, HIL, and test infrastructure.

About you  

In order to set you up for success at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.  

• 8+ years of experience in embedded or automotive software development, ideally with hands-on platform bring-up experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Bash, and Python.
  Deep understanding of Linux-based embedded systems (Yocto, systemd, bootloaders, device trees).
• Familiarity with QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments and the ability to configure and debug them on target hardware.
  Experience with bring-up on automotive-grade SoCs (e.g., NVIDIA Orin, Qualcomm SA8295/SA8650, Renesas, TI).
• Comfortable working with hardware debuggers, flashing tools, serial consoles, and board support packages (BSPs).
• Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C.
• Hands-on experience integrating embedded platforms into CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
• No Japanese language required.

Additional Information

• Expected full-time salary range between £93,500 to £113,000 + equity + benefits

The role 

We’re seeking an exceptional Application SW Engineer to join our Japan-based within the Application Software team, focused on localising and advancing Wayve’s autonomous driving technology for the Japanese market. This is a unique opportunity to play a hands-on role in shaping our AV capabilities in Japan from the ground up.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the bring-up and early validation of our AI software stack on customer hardware platforms, ensuring seamless performance across diverse SoCs and operating systems. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Verification, Release, and OEM partners to ensure smooth integration and reliable delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Execute software bring-up on customer hardware platforms (e.g. NVIDIA Drive, Qualcomm Ride).
• Port and configure Linux-based systems, QNX, and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments.
• Integrate and validate drivers, middleware, and boot-time configurations.
• Collaborate with Verification & Release teams to integrate hardware into CI/CD, HIL, and test infrastructure.
• Work with OEM and Tier 1 teams to resolve hardware-specific integration issues.
• Implement system-level diagnostics, logging, and secure boot configuration.
• Develop automation for setup, flashing, health checks, and test execution on target hardware.

About you  

In order to set you up for success at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.  

• 8+ years of experience in embedded or automotive software development, ideally with hands-on platform bring-up experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, Bash, and Python.
  Deep understanding of Linux-based embedded systems (Yocto, systemd, bootloaders, device trees).
• Familiarity with QNX and Adaptive AUTOSAR environments and the ability to configure and debug them on target hardware.
  Experience with bring-up on automotive-grade SoCs (e.g., NVIDIA Orin, Qualcomm SA8295/SA8650, Renesas, TI).
• Comfortable working with hardware debuggers, flashing tools, serial consoles, and board support packages (BSPs).
• Familiarity with communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C.
• Hands-on experience integrating embedded platforms into CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
• No Japanese language required. 

Desired 

• Exposure to automotive verification environments (e.g., HIL systems, Vector toolchains, custom CI rigs).
• Experience working in a safety-critical domain with an understanding of ISO 26262, boot-time determinism, and watchdogs.
• Understanding of secure boot, OTA updates, and system-level cybersecurity topics.
• Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, Git, and artifact management tools like JFrog Artifactory.
