About the Role
The Associate SDET is primarily responsible for understanding the software’s functionality and ensuring that automated tests run smoothly. They work under the guidance of senior members to learn the codebase and automation framework.

About the Role
You will be working as a part of a distributed agile team, building a new SaaS platform that underpins a suite of enterprise applications solving a variety of hard data analytics and enterprise problems. - Be a part of a globally distributed team of backend engineers to design/develop/architect Securiti’s core backend platform

What You’ll Bring

At Careem, the mission of the NextGen Programme is to develop our next generation of engineers through a structured learning journey in Clean Code, SOLID design principles, and scalable system architecture. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers and graduates who are embarking on their journey in software engineering. You will be responsible for maintaining some of our services that power the Careem. Engine, scaling highly distributed systems, and continuously documenting and improving our engineering practices. These large-scale, distributed systems handle everything from user requests to payment processing.
What you'll do:
Our tech stack is Java 8 and Spring Boot, Micro-Service Architecture, SQL and no-SQL DBs and AWS infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:
- Development of our distributed backend system to meet the challenging functional, scalability, and reliability requirements for our fast-growing business.
- Maintain features and systems, with an emphasis on code quality, maintainability, readability, and testing.
- Facilitate collaboration with other engineers, product owners, and designers to solve interesting and challenging problems across our platform.
- Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.
- You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high-quality code.
What you'll need:
- 2-4 Years of Experience required.

What you'll do
- Design and build advanced, scalable applications written in Kotlin, Java and Kotlin Multiplatform.
- Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and use cases and translate them into pragmatic and effective technical solutions.
- Integrate with our backend services to make sure we are delivering a great
mobile user experience that is super-fast for end users. - Own end-to-end product modules and features from requirements to going live.
- Design and review code, troubleshoot and act as a consultant to your peers on technical matters.
- Gather requirements by interacting directly with the end-users and advocate delightful user experiences.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Participate in team agile and engineering practices and lead their continuous evolution.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years of Android application development with extensive use of Kotlin Multi Platform and well-known DI frameworks.
- Experience building well architected applications that follow well established design patterns independently and without supervision.
- Good understanding of the full mobile development life cycle. Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
- Strong understanding of interactive application development paradigm under Android, memory management, file I/O, network programming, concurrency and multithreading and publishing Android apps in the Play Store.
- Experience working with remote teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software against aggressive schedules.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal, formal and informal).
- Reactive programming (Rx, ReactiveCocoa, ReactiveSwift etc.) experience is a big plus.
- Experience in Navigation based applications is a big plus.

As a Senior Software Engineer I in the Central Engineering team, you are a force multiplier. You don’t just deliver features; you set the standard for how they are delivered. You will bridge the gap between complex requirements and elegant, AI-augmented implementations, owning large components of our ecosystem and relentlessly driving excellence through automation.
What You'll Do
- AI-Driven Development: Lead by example in using AI tools (Claude Code, LLMs, automated agents) to accelerate the entire SDLC—from rapid prototyping to automated testing and documentation.
- Ownership: Design, develop, and maintain complex, full-stack features, owning the lifecycle of your services—from initial system design and API contracts to deployment and on-call support.
- System Architecture: Contribute significantly to system design discussions, evolving patterns to ensure our microservices are scalable, decoupled, and resilient.
- Quality & Mentorship: Maintain a high bar for code quality through deep code reviews. Actively mentor Software Engineers (I & II), fostering a culture of AI-first thinking.
- Operational Excellence: Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident post-mortems, and build "self-healing" systems with automated monitoring.
What You'll Need
- Experience: 6+ years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of shipping high-scale distributed systems.
- The AI-First Mindset: You have integrated AI tools into your daily workflow to increase velocity and code quality.
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in modern backend languages (Go, Java, or Node.js) and a deep understanding of React and TypeScript on the frontend.
- Distributed Systems: Advanced knowledge of REST/gRPC, message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and both SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Deep familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to own your infrastructure on AWS.
- Bonus Points: Experience building/integrating AI agents or LLM wrappers, and a history of contributing to open-source projects or tech blogs.
