Overview

The responsibilities of our Platform team include building and maintaining all backend services, including, but not limited to, payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text to speech, and external APIs.

This is a key role and ideal for someone who thinks strategically, enjoys fast-paced environments, is passionate about making product decisions, and has experience building great user experiences that delight users.

Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week. 

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API, internal APIs like Payment, Subscription, Auth and Consumption Tracking, ensuring they meet business and scalability requirements
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience

An Ideal Candidate Should Have

• Proven experience in backend development: TS/Node (required)
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
• Efficiency in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact
• Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Preferred: Proficiency in deploying high availability applications on Kubernetes

What your day-to-day will look like

• Responsible for designing the system architecture to train, retrain, develop, monitor, and serve machine learning models;
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure for machine learning pipelines and APIs;
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for deployment, updating, and continuous monitoring of machine learning models;
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of machine learning models into production;
• Ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements, especially in the financial context;
• Troubleshoot and optimize machine learning production systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability;
• Share knowledge, mentor, and support team members in MLOps best practices, API development, and machine learning model production.

What you need to shine in this role

• Experience in MLOps, DevOps, or related roles;
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure);
• Proficiency with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes);
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn);
• Strong Python skills with experience writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code;
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions);
• Knowledge of data pipelines and ETL processes (streaming and batch);
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for machine learning services (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog); 
• Understanding of security and compliance standards in payment systems.

Bonus points if you have

• Knowledge of Kafka or similar event streaming platforms;
• Familiarity with financial services or payment systems.

Your day-to-day impact:

• Strengthen the security of our AWS and GCP environments by building, improving, and monitoring cloud security controls;

• Lead and support security investigations, collaborating with multiple teams to prevent incidents and drive long-term improvements;

• Develop automations and tools (Python, IaC, Kubernetes integrations) that reduce manual work and increase security coverage;

• Contribute to PCI-DSS, ISO-27001, ISO-27701 and ISO-27718 compliance efforts by ensuring controls are implemented and continuously improved;

• Design and maintain secure infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation, supporting scalable and reliable services;

• Partner with Engineering, Cloud Platform, FinOps, and GRC teams to embed security into the development lifecycle and influence architecture decisions;

• Help elevate EBANX’s cloud security posture through documentation, best practices, and continuous learning;

Must-haves to shine in this role:

• Solid experience working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP or Azure), preferably in security-focused roles;

• Hands-on skills with Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform or CloudFormation;

• Ability to automate tasks and build tools using Python or other scripting languages;

• Understanding of security frameworks and standards like PCI-DSS or ISO-27001;

• Experience participating in or leading security incident investigations;
