In Agoda’s Back End Engineering department, we build the scalable, fault-tolerant systems and APIs that host our core business logic. Our systems cover all major areas of our business: inventory and pricing, product information, customer data, communications, partner data, booking systems, payments, and more. These mission-critical systems change frequently with dozens of releases per day, so we must employ state-of-the-art CI/CD and testing techniques in order to make sure everything works without any downtime. We also ensure that our systems are self-healing, responding gracefully to extreme loads or unexpected input. In order to accomplish this, we use state-of-the-art languages like Scala and Go, data technologies like Kafka and Aerospike, and agile development practices. The Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal Engineer to drive innovation across our AI-powered data experience and platform infrastructure.

This role combines leading the development of AI-powered data querying — enabling users to ask business questions in natural language and receive actionable insights — while shaping the evolution of our data quality tools, and analytical engines such as StarRocks.

As a senior technical leader, you will operate across AI, data infrastructure, and reliability domains, driving high-impact initiatives and serving as a key technical authority across the organization.

This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand. (Relocation support is provided)

In this Role, you'll get to:

• Lead the development of AI-powered data querying solutions, enabling users to ask business questions in natural language and receive actionable insights.
• Architect and develop scalable data quality tools and frameworks to ensure reliable and trustworthy data.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, tackling complex challenges across AI query engines, data quality systems, and analytical engines.
• Collaborate with TPMs and stakeholders to define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for AI-driven querying, query engines, and data quality tools.
• Mentor engineers and raise standards across data quality & governance tools, query engines, and the broader data platform.

What you'll Need to Succeed:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or related fields
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• SQL and large-scale data systems
• Modern analytical databases / data warehouses (e.g., StarRocks, Snowflake, BigQuery, ClickHouse)
• Backend development (e.g., Python, Java, Scala or similar)
• Experience building or working with:
• AI/LLM-based applications (e.g., text-to-SQL, conversational interfaces, cursor, copilots)
• Data platforms or analytical infrastructure at scale
• Strong understanding of data modeling, query execution, and performance optimization
• Proven ability to lead cross-team, high-impact technical initiatives
• Ability to navigate between deep hands-on work and strategic technical leadership
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with text-to-SQL systems or AI-driven data interfaces

Role:  GenAI Comms Strategist

About the role: 

The Comms Strategist is a central, autonomous role in the Beauty AI Studio. You'll move between cultural analysis, strategic direction, and copy execution — using generative AI not just as a production tool, but as a core part of how you think, build, and deliver.

Based in Thailand in a hybrid office-based environment, you'll own client briefs end-to-end across three markets: from decoding local beauty culture and shaping strategy, to co-creating content with AI and refining it to Unilever's brand and quality standards. The role requires the ability to hold multiple market contexts simultaneously — understanding what makes a beauty consumer in Thailand distinct — while maintaining consistent brand integrity across Dove, TRESemmé, Pond's, Simple, and the broader Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing portfolio. You'll work closely with creative, data, and production teams, and collaborate directly with Unilever clients on local vernacular and market-specific language needs.

What you will be doing: 

• Decode beauty and wellness culture across Thailand — micro-trends, rituals, subcultures, and platform aesthetics — and translate observations into market-specific strategic insight and creative opportunity for Dove, TRESemmé, Pond's, Simple, and other Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing brands
• Conduct AI-powered cultural, consumer, and competitive analysis across all three markets to inform strategy and content direction
• Develop social strategies for Dove, TRESemmé, Pond's, Simple, and other Unilever Beauty & Wellbeing brands across the TH market — defining platform approach, content pillars, audience targeting, and channel-specific creative direction
• Craft brand and campaign strategies grounded in real beauty behaviours, local platform dynamics, and market-specific audience expectations
• Use generative AI tools to co-create social scripts, campaign narratives, brand stories, and content ideas — refining outputs to meet each brand's tone of voice and the expectations of TH audiences
• Build multi-layered messaging frameworks and content systems that flex across brands, markets, and platforms without losing coherence or brand integrity
• Collaborate directly with Unilever clients on vernacular requirements, ensuring content feels locally authentic and culturally resonant in each market
• Design and deploy AI workflows — including agent chaining — to produce content calendars, performance variants, and market-tailored tone modulations across all three markets
• Lead day-to-day strategic and copy development with clarity, rigour, and consistent quality control

What you need to be great in this role: 

Strategy and cultural intelligence:

• Proven ability to develop social-first strategy and copy for beauty, wellness, or personal care brands — experience with Unilever brands such as Dove, TRESemmé, Pond's, or Simple, or broader FMCG beauty experience, is an advantage
• Experience working across multiple markets, with the ability to identify and interpret local beauty trends, consumer behaviours, and platform dynamics in the Thailand market.
• Experience crafting brand narratives, campaign frameworks, and content systems for diverse, multi-market beauty audiences
• Confidence presenting strategy and creative work to clients and senior stakeholders, including cross-market teams

Beauty and copy craft:

• Deep familiarity with beauty language — texture, ritual, transformation, sensory detail — and the ability to write with precision for diverse audiences across different cultural and market contexts
• Ability to shift tone across platforms, formats, markets, and brand identities — from Dove's inclusive warmth to the performance-led energy of TRESemmé — while maintaining quality and brand integrity
• Experience collaborating with clients or local market teams on vernacular, localisation, and culturally specific language needs
• Strong editorial judgement and rigorous quality control when refining AI-generated content
• English fluency is essential

Platform and performance:

• Expert knowledge of social platforms: formats, tone, algorithm behaviour, creator dynamics — with awareness of how these vary across the TH markets
• Experience using AI tools for cultural, consumer, and competitive analysis
• Familiarity with data interpretation and performance optimisation in a social content context

Gen AI & Agentic Thinking:

• Advanced proficiency with generative AI tools for writing, ideation, insight generation, and content production
• Experience designing AI-assisted workflows — including agent chaining — for multi-step content and strategy tasks
• Ability to design, document, and share reusable prompts, workflows, and templates
• Experience guiding others on effective AI tool usage within a creative or strategy context

We are looking for ambitious and agile data scientists that would like to seize the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging productive machine learning and big data platforms worldwide, processing some 600B events every day and making some 5B predictions.

As part of the Data Science and Machine Learning (AI/ML) team you will be exposed to real-world challenges such as: dynamic pricing, predicting customer intents in real time, ranking search results to maximize lifetime value, classifying and deep learning content and personalization signals from unstructured data such as images and text, making personalized recommendations, innovating algorithm-supported promotions and products for supply partners, discovering insights from big data, and innovating the user experience. To tackle these challenges, you will have the opportunity to work on one of the world's largest ML infrastructure employing dozens of GPUs working in parallel, 30K+ CPU cores and 150TB of memory.

The role sits within the Supply Analytics team under SOAP team of Partner Services, where new business ideas, and partnership types are incubated and scaled. As an Analyst/Senior Analyst at Agoda you will use your data skills and business mindset to make a difference in our fast-growing global business across our top hotel partners. This role will be involved in strategic projects and work closely with commercial owners and business stakeholders, using data to identify and translate business needs and opportunities into actionable initiatives.

In this Role, you’ll get to:

• Translate internal briefs into analytical projects (to include refining the initial brief and asking the ‘right questions’, working through potential hypotheses and storyboarding the output)
• Use and analyze data from multiple large-scale data warehouses and present statistically strong analysis to a wide range of business stakeholders.
• Proactively identify opportunities for growth within supply and the wider business.
• Drive new analytical initiatives and projects aimed at improving organizational efficiency and shaping Agoda supply.
• Identify, support, and lead projects aimed at scaling up the way the Supply organization leverages on data, insights, and intelligence.
• Automate manual operational processes and present back on time savings gained through modernization of business operations

What you’ll Need to Succeed:

• 2-6 years of experience in analytics/data science/insights/strategy.
• Bachelor’s degree ideally in a business or quantitative subject (e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering, science, economics or finance).
• Expert domain of data analysis and data visualization tools and software such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python, R, or similar
• Experience in conducting A/B testing experimentation
• A good understanding of statistical modelling knowledge or any machine learning technique knowledge is a plus (regression, logistic regression, random forest, etc.)
• Good stakeholder management experience. Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and C-suite.
• Strong experience in finding data insights and provide business recommendation to the business
• A hacker’s mindset – the ability to build simple but clever and elegant solutions to new problems within significant resource, operational and time constraints through deep understanding of the business, creative problem solving, and a wide range of expertise in data, analytics, automation, programming, and prototyping.

In Agoda’s Back End Engineering department, we build the scalable, fault-tolerant systems and APIs that host our core business logic. Our systems cover all major areas of our business: inventory and pricing, product information, customer data, communications, partner data, booking systems, payments, and more. This role is part of Agoda’s Display & App Marketing engineering team, focused on building and improving large-scale systems that power paid marketing across global advertising channels, including Display Ads and App Install campaigns.

In this Role, you will get to:

• Lead the team technically in improving scalability, stability, accuracy, speed and efficiency of our existing ML systems and processes.
  Build, administer and scale ML processing pipelines.
• Be comfortable navigating the following technology stack: Python3, Scala Spark, scripting (Bash/Python), Hadoop, SQL, S3 etc.
• Should be able to understand internals of ML models such as LightGBM, Random Forest, CNN, Regression models, etc
