What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and deploy resilient services and tooling that provide security capabilities at scale, primarily in Go, with some work in Javascript and Python.
• Research and design automated approaches to detecting and actioning abuse and misuse of DigitalOcean products and services.
• Work with product and engineering teams to design and implement secure architectures.
• Design and build internal tools that enable our Security Operations Center to do more, faster.
• Measure the efficacy of our services and tools, using logs, metrics, and audit records, to drive reporting and decision-making, leading to iterative and transformative security improvements as DigitalOcean scales. What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering projects, ideally with a security focus, in a complex, high-scale SaaS or IaaS environment. You are an expert in writing robust code with good test coverage and demonstrated success in delivering projects.
• Understanding of cloud-native services and infrastructure provisioning (e.g. compute, storage, networking).
• Deep familiarity with cloud services & infrastructure—compute, storage, network, managed services—and related abuse tactics, including DDoS, spamming, phishing, cryptomining, and bot networks.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a visionary Lead AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of next-generation AI solutions by bridging our Salesforce CRM ecosystem with AWS cloud infrastructure. Implementation & Development (30%)

• Lead the technical implementation of Model Builder and Prompt Builder within Salesforce, connecting them to external AWS endpoints.

• Configure Amazon Bedrock agents and knowledge bases to execute complex tasks and retrieve proprietary data for Salesforce users.

• Develop serverless middleware using AWS Lambda and API Gateway to facilitate low-latency communication between Salesforce Flow/Apex and AWS inference endpoints.

• Oversee the fine-tuning of models on AWS SageMaker when out-of-the-box Bedrock models require domain-specific adaptation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%)

• Partner with Data Engineers to ensure Salesforce Data Cloud is correctly ingesting, harmonizing, and activating data streams from S3, Redshift, and other sources.

• Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators and Developers to embed AI outputs directly into the flow of work (Service Console, Sales Cloud LWC, etc.).

• Act as the subject matter expert for Product Managers, translating "AI buzzwords" into viable technical roadmaps and realistic deliverables.

Optimization & Innovation (10%)

• Monitor LLM performance, latency, and token costs; implement caching strategies and model selection logic to optimize spend.

• Stay ahead of the rapid evolution in the Salesforce/AWS partnership, evaluating new features like Zero Copy Data Sharing and Vector Databases.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Technical Skills:

• AWS AI/ML Stack: Deep expertise in Amazon Bedrock is mandatory. Experience configuring Bedrock Knowledge Bases, Agents, and Guardrails. Proficiency with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and IAM for secure cross-cloud access.

• Salesforce AI Stack: Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud, Einstein 1 Platform, and the setup of Model Builder/Prompt Builder.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Palantir Foundry (and supplemental tools) to integrate data from enterprise systems (NetSuite, Workday, etc.) and external sources. Ensure pipelines are efficient and fault-tolerant, handling large data volumes from manufacturing and field operations (e.g. IoT sensor feeds).
• Data Modeling & Ontology: Develop and refine data models that organize enterprise data into meaningful structures. Leverage Foundry’s ontology features to define business objects (e.g. Customers, Work Orders, Inventory Items) and ensure data is linked in a way that reflects real-world relationships. Continuously improve these models for new business requirements – for instance, adding new attributes or new object types as we launch new programs.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implement data validation and quality checks in pipelines to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Monitor pipeline runs and set up alerts for anomalies or failures. Work with the team to enforce data governance policies (who owns which data, access controls, compliance needs) within Foundry and downstream systems.
• Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with Data Analysts and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and optimize data outputs for analysis. For example, if Finance needs a specific revenue recognition report, ensure the pipeline provides the needed granularity. Provide ad-hoc data expertise to troubleshooting data issues or generating one-time analyses.
• Performance Optimization: Profile and tune data pipelines for performance. Optimize query logic, pipeline configuration, and resource usage so that data refreshes and analytics can occur in a timely manner (especially as data volumes grow with company expansion). Manage scheduling and orchestration of jobs to meet SLAs for data availability (e.g. daily financial report refresh by 8 AM).
• Integration with Systems: Work closely with Systems Architects to coordinate how data flows tie into system integrations. For example, if a new API integration is bringing in a type of data, design the pipeline to ingest that data and join it with relevant datasets for analytics. Provide input on what data transformations could happen in-flight vs. in Foundry to maximize efficiency.
• Tooling & Innovation: Contribute to developing internal tools or scripts to improve our data engineering workflow. This could include scripts for automating data deployments, custom plugins in Foundry, or using open-source frameworks (where applicable) to complement Foundry’s capabilities. Also evaluate new features in Foundry and emerging data technologies to keep our stack modern.
  
  
• Mentorship & Best Practices: As a senior member, guide junior data engineers in writing clean, maintainable pipeline code. Establish best practices for code versioning, documentation of data transformations, and general data engineering standards within the team.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL development, handling large-scale datasets and complex pipelines. Strong foundation in data integration concepts and database design.
• Advanced Python skills for data processing (Pandas, etc.) and scripting, as well as solid SQL skills for querying and transforming data. Experience with PySpark or similar distributed data frameworks is a plus (Foundry uses Spark under the hood for big data).
• Experience building pipelines with enterprise data from systems like ERP, CRM, HRIS, or IoT sources. Familiar with different data formats (JSON, CSV, XML) and methods of extracting data (REST APIs, webhooks, database connectors).
• Hands-on experience with a modern data platform or pipeline orchestration tool. Experience with Palantir Foundry is a strong plus, but experience with alternatives (e.g. AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Airflow, dbt, etc.) is acceptable if coupled with ability to learn Foundry quickly.
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles (relational schemas, star/snowflake schemas for analytics, normalization vs. denormalization tradeoffs). Ability to design schemas and data transformations that meet analytics requirements efficiently.
• Problem-solving and debugging skills: Able to investigate data discrepancies across systems, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and optimize slow queries.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data quality – recognizes the downstream impact of data issues and proactively puts checks in place.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with end users (analysts, managers) to clarify requirements. Comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders when necessary.

• Familiarity with cloud data architectures (AWS or Azure data services) as Foundry operates in cloud environments. Knowledge of storage services (S3, ADLS), data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift), and how they integrate with pipeline tools.
• Experience with business intelligence tools or practices – able to appreciate how data will be used in dashboards or analytics so you can better tailor data outputs (experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Foundry’s Contour/Quiver dashboards).
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD for data pipelines – using version control (Git), and deploying code in a controlled, automated way.
• Master’s degree in Data Engineering or related field, or relevant certifications (e.g. Google Professional Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics Specialty) indicating a commitment to ongoing learning in the field.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help design and build the infrastructure that powers data-driven decision-making and workflow automation across our healthcare platform. You’ll work closely with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to define and deliver clean, reliable, and scalable data pipelines, with a strong focus on interoperability with EHR systems and healthcare APIs.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll influence architecture, data modeling, integration strategy, and client engagement in a regulated and data-rich environment with a team of engineers dedicated to building the highest quality systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Data Engineer at Chorus, you’ll be flexing your skills across, and providing real impact.

You’ll be:

• Owning and evolving internal data pipelines that support analytics, operations, and end applications
• Enabling self-service analytics and operational insights via semantic layers and tools (e.g. Metabase, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc…)
• Designing and maintaining integrations with external healthcare systems (EHRs, FHIR-based APIs, HL7 interfaces, Slack, Google, etc.)
• Collaborating on the development and maintenance of our central Data Warehouse, ensuring clean schema, lineage, and query performance
• Collaborating with product, engineering, and client delivery teams to understand and translate customer domain knowledge into structured data solutions
• Building workflow automation to support care management, reporting, and operational tasks.
• Championing data quality, observability, and governance, especially in regulated healthcare environments in team
• Mentoring engineers and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing, technical excellence, and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
• Strong experience with modern data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, dlt, Dagster)
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (or equivalent data engineering languages)
• Experience integrating with EHRs or healthcare APIs (e.g., FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR).
• Experience working with HIPAA-compliant data practices, security models, and systems (e.g. encryption, access controls, audit logging, data segregation, data retention, breach detection)
• Experience with data modeling and designing data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Postgres-based solutions)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Prior experience in client-facing or consultative roles is a plus

Nice to Have

• Experience with healthcare data standards (LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10, etc.)
• Exposure to workflow engines, rule engines, or care coordination platforms
• Experience structuring data architecture for MLOps usecases
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Background in building data platforms in high-compliance environments

Compensation Disclosure
The anticipated base salary for this position is $160,000 to $175,000 based on the Los Angeles market. The base salary offered may vary depending on several factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, certifications, and the geographic location where the role will be performed.

Please note that the listed compensation details apply to the base salary only and do not include additional elements of the total compensation package, such as performance bonuses, stock options, or benefits. The final compensation package will be determined by evaluating the candidate’s qualifications in relation to market standards and internal pay equity.
