About this VP, Head of Commercial Operations role at Remix Therapeutics
Patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) have waited decades for a treatment option. At Remix Therapeutics, we intend to change that. We are a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that has pioneered a new class of small molecule medicines targeting the RNA splicing machinery — correcting the disease-causing errors that drive ACC and other serious conditions at their source. REM-422 is our lead program, currently in clinical evaluation for ACC and AML/HR-MDS, and it is at a critical inflection point. Remix is building the team to bring this novel molecule forward for patients.
Position Summary:
Remix is seeking an experienced, strategic and hands-on Vice President, Head of Commercial Operations to build and lead the company's Commercial Operations and Business Insights function, initially focused on REM-422. This executive will be accountable for forecasting, market research and competitive intelligence; commercial data and analytics; CRM and field technology; sales operations; incentive compensation; performance reporting; and the external partner ecosystem required to support launch.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and partnering closely with the Head of Sales & Marketing, Head of Market Access, Finance, IT, Legal and Compliance, this leader will translate commercial strategy into disciplined operating plans, high-quality decisions and scalable execution. The successful candidate will pair strategic judgment with analytical depth and a willingness to work directly in the details - from patient-based forecasting and vendor selection to field force design, and dashboard development.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Insights, Forecasting & Competitive Intelligence
- Set and lead the enterprise commercial insights agenda, integrating primary and secondary market research, epidemiology, patient journey and treatment-flow analysis, market sizing, customer insights and competitive intelligence.
- Build, maintain and communicate patient-based forecasts for ACC and future indications; partner with Finance on revenue scenarios, long-range planning and sensitivity analyses.
- Translate clinical and regulatory outcomes, target product profile assumptions, biomarker prevalence, treatment patterns, market access dynamics and competitive developments into clear commercial implications.
- Develop a sequenced learning plan that addresses the highest-value uncertainties for indication prioritization, positioning, go-to-market design, field planning, access strategy and lifecycle management.
- Create compliant mechanisms to capture and synthesize insights from customers, field teams, patient services, payers, external experts and data sources, then convert those insights into decisions and action.
- Support portfolio strategy, business development and new-product planning through commercial opportunity assessments, analog analyses and scenario modeling.
Commercial Data, Analytics & Technology
- Develop a phase-appropriate commercial data and analytics roadmap that supports pre-launch decisions, launch execution and post-launch performance management.
- Select, integrate and govern data from market research, claims, specialty pharmacy and distribution, patient services, market access, CRM, finance and other sources to create a reliable commercial source of truth.
- Design and implement the commercial technology stack, including CRM, business intelligence and dashboarding, data integration, customer master data, affiliations and account hierarchies.
- Establish data governance, quality standards, access controls, privacy and compliance requirements, vendor service levels and documentation in partnership with IT, Legal and Compliance.
- Build decision-oriented dashboards and reporting for executive leadership and commercial teams, balancing leading indicators, launch-readiness metrics and business outcomes.
- Manage commercial data, analytics and technology partners, ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions, disciplined budgets, strong performance and scalable architecture.
Field Operations
- Lead field force sizing, structure, territory design, targeting, customer segmentation, call planning and workload analyses for a focused rare-oncology model.
- Build the field operations model, including CRM processes, activity standards, reporting, field communications, operational support and performance-management routines.
- Design incentive compensation strategy, measures, governance and administration in partnership with Sales, Human Resources, Finance, Legal and Compliance.
- Establish field performance dashboards and analytical approaches that distinguish activity, execution quality, customer response, access progression and business impact.
Commercial Operations, Budget & Performance Management
- Establish the commercial operating cadence, planning processes, governance forums, standard work and decision-support tools required for a lean and accountable organization.
- Coordinate commercial budget planning and tracking with the Chief Commercial Officer and Finance; provide clear visibility into commitments, forecast changes, investment choices and return expectations.
- Partner with Market Access and Finance to incorporate pricing, access, channel, patient services and gross-to-net assumptions into forecasts and performance reporting.
- Build and govern the external commercial partner ecosystem, including scopes of work, selection, contracting support, performance metrics, issue resolution and knowledge transfer.
- Develop scalable business processes and controls that support commercialization, public-company readiness and compliant operations without creating unnecessary infrastructure.
Organizational Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Build and lead a lean, high-performing Commercial Operations and Business Insights organization, sequencing internal hires and external partners against development and launch milestones.
- Serve as Remix's senior internal authority on commercial analytics, operating model, field effectiveness, performance management and launch execution.
- Represent Commercial Operations and Business Insights on program teams, launch governance and executive forums; communicate complex analyses and trade-offs with clarity and drive timely decisions.
- Maintain effective and compliant working boundaries across Commercial and Medical Affairs while ensuring insights are shared appropriately and enterprise decisions remain coordinated.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, scientific integrity, urgency and patient focus consistent with Remix's values and team behaviors.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, science, public health, analytics or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience in rare disease, precision oncology, rare solid tumors, hematologic malignancies or another specialty market with concentrated customers and complex patient journeys.

- Broad, hands-on expertise across forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, commercial data and analytics, CRM, field operations, incentive compensation and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to build or materially scale commercial capabilities in a small or mid-sized biotechnology company operating with limited resources and changing timelines.
- Strong patient-based forecasting and scenario-planning skills, with the ability to connect clinical, regulatory, epidemiologic, access and competitive assumptions to enterprise decisions.
- Experience selecting and managing commercial data, research, analytics, technology and operations vendors, including budget and performance accountability.
- Working knowledge of U.S. healthcare delivery, specialty-product data flows and the legal, compliance, privacy and security requirements governing commercial operations.
- Executive presence and communication skills sufficient to influence cross-functional leaders, external partners, the executive team and Board of Directors.
- A builder's mindset, strong attention to detail and comfort moving between strategy, analysis and hands-on execution in a fast-changing environment.
Preferred
- Experience launching an oral oncology or specialty-pharmacy product and working with specialty pharmacy, distribution, patient services, claims and access data.
- Familiarity with ACC, AML, MDS or biomarker-defined oncology populations and the dynamics of academic centers, community oncology and health systems.
- Prior experience as an early commercial leader preparing a biotechnology company for its first launch.
