Position: Systems Administrator Advanced
Term: Aug 2026 - June 2027 with extension
Pay: $70/Hr - $72/Hr
Location: ON SITE -Tallahassee, FL
Work Authorization: USC and GC ONLY
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
Experience:
- 5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required.
- 3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
- 3 – 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired.
- 2 – 3 years of experience in the following areas:
- Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- IIS Administration.
- Network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions.
- Strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required and strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure and other cloud systems is highly desired.
- Professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
- · Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors).
- · Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades.
- · Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance.
- · Establish systems by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; and establishing connections and firewalls.
- · Maintains network and systems performance by performing systems monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting systems and application problems; escalating problems to vendor.
- · Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
- · Find opportunities to refactor solutions to obtain better performance, cost, and efficiency.
- · Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
- · Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings.
- · Recommend and assist with the building and hosting of complex application solutions.
- · Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services.
- · Support other IT staff, including developers.
