About this Senior Electrical Engineer - V&V Lead role at Neros Technologies

Neros Technologies · Onsite · Torrance, California, United States

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Electrical Engineer -V&V (Verification & Validation) Lead at Neros, you will own verification and validation of the production electronics at the core of our platform. You will establish and lead our EV/DV program — defining verification workflows, building lab test capability, and executing qualification campaigns across our airside, ground station, and interceptor product lines. This is a role for someone who combines deep hands-on test and measurement skill with the drive to build a V&V discipline from the ground up and extend their impact through technical leadership as the team grows.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement EV/DV verification workflows for production electronics, including test plans, procedures, reports, and requirements traceability
  • Plan and execute engineering validation and design validation testing: functional, thermal, vibration, environmental, EMC/EMI pre-compliance, and power quality
  • Specify and build electrical test infrastructure, including instrumentation selection, custom test fixtures, and automated data acquisition
  • Establish verification gate criteria and lead V&V sign-off as part of design reviews and product releases
  • Lead root-cause analysis of failures found in test, production, and the field, and drive corrective actions in partnership with design engineers
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to product-focused V&V engineers as the team scales

You should have the following

  • A track record of taking electronics through formal qualification (EV/DV or equivalent military, aerospace, or automotive programs) to production release
  • Deep bench proficiency with oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analyzers, electronic loads and power analysis, environmental chambers, and vibration test equipment
  • Demonstrated experience authoring V&V documentation: test plans, test procedures, test reports, and requirements traceability matrices
  • Strong circuit design fundamentals, with the ability to review schematics and engage design engineers on failure mechanisms at the component and board level
  • Experience with EMC/EMI testing (pre-compliance and/or formal) and environmental test standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-160, or equivalent commercial standards
  • Scripting and test automation experience (Python or similar) for instrument control, data acquisition, and analysis
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to document rigorously and present verification status and risk crisply to program stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field

Nice to have

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical hardware engineering, with substantial hands-on ownership of verification, validation, or qualification of complex mixed-signal and embedded electronics
  • Experience standing up a V&V function, test lab, or qualification process from scratch at a startup or small company
  • Background in UAV, avionics, robotics, or defense applications where hardware reliability and operational environment are critical considerations
  • Reliability engineering experience: HALT/HASS, accelerated life testing, and derating verification
  • Familiarity with WCCA and DFMEA methodologies and how verification ties into them
  • Statistical methods for test: measurement uncertainty, design of experiments, and sampling strategies
  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field
