Procurement Specialist – Holland, MI
DISHER is currently partnering with a growing company specializing in hydronic radiant heating solutions in their search for a Product/Application Engineer. The Procurement Specialist holds a pivotal position in overseeing and streamlining the company’s core operational activities. This role is entrusted with monitoring costs, minimizing inventory expenses, procuring parts in accordance with established cost parameters, and coordinating manufacturing schedules. It is designed to evolve into a key leadership role within the operations team as the company grows.

What you will get to do:
- Create, update, and send purchase orders for raw materials to approved vendors, ensuring all procurement activities align with company policies.
- Research and source alternative suppliers of components in collaboration with engineering to create competitive advantage based on price, delivery, and quality.
- Monitor stock levels, review inventory data, and place replenishment orders as needed to support uninterrupted production while avoiding overstocking in line with inventory turnover objectives.
- Maintain supplier relationships and conduct regular vendor evaluations to ensure all suppliers meet the company's pricing, delivery, and quality requirements.
- Reconcile discrepancies between purchase orders, received materials, and invoices, and resolve issues related to damaged or incorrect goods.
- Receive incoming goods and conduct thorough inspections for damaged or missing items; quarantine and document all issues as appropriate.
- Ensure materials are clearly labeled and stored systematically, and consistently update inventory records to maintain accurate stock levels and a well-organized inventory system.
- Perform regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with system records, ensuring precision and accountability.
- Pick, pack, and prepare shipping documentation (labels, packing slips, bills of lading) and securely load finished goods onto trucks for Floor Heat customers.
- Schedule and track daily/weekly production activities — assessing capacity, labor, and material resources, resolving bottlenecks, adjusting order sequences, and addressing urgent customer requests to maintain an efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
What will make you successful:
- 2-5 years of experience in roles related to purchasing, manufacturing scheduling, shipping, or warehousing.
- Associate degree in business, supply chain management or certifications such as APICS or CPSM preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as a working knowledge of ERP or manufacturing software.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail, including the capability to track costs, measure operational efficiencies, and calculate requirements for labor, materials, and capacity.
- Efficiently manage multiple tasks, urgent requests, and manufacturing projects to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to cost objectives.
- Highly organized and effective at prioritizing responsibilities.
- Competent conflict resolution skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, working within an organization that upholds strong values.
- Openness to self-development and advancement within the company.
- Prior experience in sourcing components in a HVAC preferred
- Experience working in continuous improvement projects
