Plant Operations Coordinator

The Plant Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, organization, and efficiency of daily plant operations. This position serves as a central point of coordination between production, inventory control, shipping and receiving, maintenance, and plant leadership.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, with a passion for accuracy and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires exceptional follow-through, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies before they become operational issues.

This position is designed as a developmental leadership role, providing exposure to all aspects of plant operations and creating a pathway toward future supervisory management opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Inventory Accuracy & Control

  • Maintain and improve inventory accuracy throughout the facility.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness.
  • Partner with production and shipping teams to ensure proper material tracking.
  • Support month-end inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.

Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate daily operational activities across multiple departments.
  • Track production schedules, material availability, and workflow priorities.
  • Monitor key plant metrics and maintain operational reports.
  • Assist in planning labor and resource allocation.
  • Ensure operational documentation is complete, accurate, and current.
  • Support communication between departments to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and organization.
  • Assist with implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis for operational issues and inventory variances.
  • Help develop systems that improve visibility and accountability throughout the operation.

Administrative & Systems Support

  • Maintain accurate records within ERP, inventory, and production systems.
  • Prepare reports for plant leadership regarding inventory performance, production metrics, and operational trends.
  • Assist with audits, compliance activities, and customer requirements as needed.
  • Ensure data integrity across operational systems.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business software systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Must be willing to consent to a Motor Vehicle Record screening, and criminal background check.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in manufacturing, recycling, logistics, warehousing, or industrial operations.

 

  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, or production tracking systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement exposure.
  • Inventory control or materials management experience.

This role is designed to provide broad exposure to plant operations, inventory management, production planning, and leadership responsibilities. High-performing individuals may have opportunities to advance into supervisory, operations management, and plant leadership positions as they develop experience and expertise.
