What you will do
As People Operations Specialist you will help run reliable, employee-centred People Operations across Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Germany, with Belgium as your primary focus. This is a hands-on operator role spanning payroll, benefits, employee lifecycle support, and people data, with scope to lead a tailored AI or automation project once you are established in the role.
Where you will have impact
- Deliver accurate payroll: Help ensure employees are paid on time and payroll errors remain as close to zero as possible.
- Strengthen Belgian People Operations: Share ownership of a growing Belgian employee population, act as a dependable point of contact for colleagues in Ghent, and create reliable coverage across the team.
- Support multiple countries: Take operational ownership across Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Germany, working with trusted local advisers and providers. As part of a global team, collaborate with colleagues to provide cross-border support and backup coverage for other locations as needed.
- Create consistent employee experiences: Make sure employees are properly onboarded, supported throughout employment, and offboarded with the correct documentation, payments, benefits enrolment, and clear communications.
- Protect data quality: Act as a guardian of people data so decisions, reporting, integrations, and People programmes are built on accurate information.
- Enable effective collaboration: Give Talent Acquisition, Talent Enablement, and People partners timely operational support and clear employment guidance.
- Improve operational efficiency: Proactively identify practical ways to streamline workflows, strengthen system integrations, automate recurring tasks, and improve People Operations practices after learning the existing processes.
- Lead a focused AI project: Take ownership of an AI-enabled People Operations initiative suited to your strengths after your first months in the role.
- Maintain business continuity: Foster knowledge sharing and transparent communication to ensure seamless business continuity while collaborating with peers across different cases and responsibilities.

Who you are
Essential
- You have hands-on experience in People Operations, including payroll, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, and employee support.
- You have working knowledge of Belgian employment legislation and can operate autonomously on core employment matters.
- You are based in Belgium and can work from the Ghent office in an hybrid set up.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English and communicate with clarity and empathy, maintaining an approachable, collaborative presence with employees, teammates, advisers, and providers.
- You have experience using an HR information system and maintaining accurate, dependable people data.
- You are comfortable working directly with payroll and benefits providers and coordinating operational work across shared channels.
- You bring a proactive, curious, and humble mindset, and are willing to learn the employment requirements, systems, and processes of additional countries.
- You are highly organised and can manage competing priorities across detailed operational work, employee requests, and continuous improvement projects in a fast-paced environment.
We welcome
- Experience supporting employees across multiple countries, particularly the United Kingdom or Germany.
- Experience improving onboarding, integrations, automation, or AI-enabled People Operations processes.
