Manufacturing Operations Manager

Pay: Starting at $80,000 per year (higher compensation available based on experience)
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee production activities across two fabrication facilities. This position is responsible for leading plant operations, improving productivity, maintaining quality standards, supporting safety initiatives, and ensuring customer orders are completed on schedule.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience in structural steel fabrication who can manage multiple departments, develop supervisors, and drive operational improvements.
What You'll Do
Direct daily operations for two fabrication facilities with multiple production shifts.
Supervise, coach, and support production supervisors and plant personnel.
Promote a safe workplace while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Monitor production schedules to meet quality expectations and delivery commitments.
Improve manufacturing efficiency through effective planning, workflow management, and equipment utilization.
Coordinate operations between Receiving, Inventory, CNC Processing, Fabrication, Welding, Paint, and Shipping.
Help recruit, train, develop, and retain employees while supporting succession planning.
Address employee performance concerns through coaching and corrective action when necessary.
Identify process improvement opportunities that increase productivity, quality, and overall plant performance.
Partner with leadership to achieve operational and business objectives.
Oversee maintenance planning and support reliable equipment performance.
Qualifications
At least 7 years of experience in structural steel fabrication.
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or production operations.
Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards.
CWI certification is preferred but not required.
Experience working in an AISC-certified fabrication shop or a comparable environment.
Background managing large, heavy, and complex fabricated steel projects.
Knowledge of SSPC and ASTM coating requirements.
Solid understanding of fabrication processes, manufacturing workflows, and production best practices.
Experience overseeing departments such as Receiving, Inventory, CNC Processing, Fabrication, Welding, Paint, and Shipping.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to recognize operational challenges and implement effective process improvements.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
