About this Inspector - QA/QC role at Petrotec Group
Job Summary
- The Inspector – QA/QC is responsible for carrying out inspection and quality verification activities during material receipt, fabrication, assembly, and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications, company standards, and customer requirements. This role plays a vital part in maintaining quality consistency, ensuring traceability, and supporting the organization’s commitment to delivering high-quality products and services.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabrication, welding, assembly, and mechanical works in accordance with approved drawings, procedures, and specifications.
- Inspect incoming materials, components, and consumables to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements. Verify material test certificates (MTCs) and maintain traceability.
- Support pressure tests, NDT activities, and dimensional inspections. Ensure all measuring and testing equipment are properly calibrated and used as per defined standards.
- Prepare inspection reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Maintain accurate and detailed QA/QC records for traceability and audit purposes.
- Identify and report deviations or non-conformances to the QA/QC Engineer. Assist in root cause analysis and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities adhere to company QA/QC procedures, project quality plans, and international codes and standards.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and project teams to ensure that quality requirements are clearly communicated and properly implemented.
- Participate in vendor or subcontractor inspections when required to verify compliance with quality and technical specifications
- Assist during client and third-party inspections by providing documentation and ensuring compliance with project quality requirements.
- Follow all safety guidelines during inspection activities and ensure that inspection processes comply with the company’s HSE standards
QHSE Responsibilities
- Comply with all QHSE standards, policies, and procedures relevant to your work.
- Actively participate in QHSE meetings and complete all required safety inductions and trainings.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions; take corrective action where possible within your scope.
- Follow guidance provided by QHSE officers and use PPE and emergency equipment correctly.
- Support a safe work environment by cooperating with safety practices and encouraging others to do the same.
- Refer to the OHSMS Manual, Section 4.4.1, for further clarification on individual QHSE responsibilities and accountability.
Education & Certificates
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- NDT Level II (UT/RT/PT/MT) preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of working experience as inspection personnel for Oil & Gas projects, 5 years of which must be in the onshore Gas Facilities sector, preferably in LNG.
- Familiar with electrical and instrumentation specific codes and standards (i.e., IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/ IECEX-60079. etc.).
- Experience in inspection activities during procurement, fabrication, installation and hookup, and commissioning of oil and gas production facilities projects.
