About the company

At Covera Health, we're on a mission to improve healthcare by making every diagnosis more accurate.

Every year, millions of patients receive imaging that shapes life changing medical decisions. Yet too often, important findings are missed, patients struggle to access high quality imaging, and the healthcare system treats radiology like a commodity instead of one of the most critical moments in a patient's care journey.

We're changing that.

Covera combines clinical expertise, advanced AI, and one of the industry's largest radiology quality datasets to help detect disease earlier, improve diagnostic accuracy, and give clinicians greater confidence in every decision they make. Better diagnoses lead to better treatment, fewer unnecessary procedures, lower healthcare costs, and, most importantly, better outcomes for patients.

In 2026, Covera and Medmo came together to create the first platform designed to support the entire radiology journey. From helping patients find and schedule high quality imaging, to coordinating care, to ensuring the accuracy of every diagnosis, we're building a connected experience that simply hasn't existed before.

Backed by Insight Partners, our platform supports nearly 6 million people across Fortune 10 and Fortune 100 employers, three of the five largest national health plans, and thousands of value based primary care physicians.

This is an exciting moment to join Covera. We're building technology that is helping detect serious conditions earlier, improving the quality of care for millions of patients, and redefining what healthcare can be. If you're excited by meaningful work, ambitious teammates, and the opportunity to help save lives through better healthcare, we'd love to meet you.

In this role, you will be expected to:

Executive Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the company's chief legal advisor and strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Develop and execute the company's overall legal strategy, ensuring legal priorities support business growth and long term company objectives.
  • Provide thoughtful, practical guidance that balances legal risk with commercial opportunity.
  • Partner across every function including Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, People, Security, and Clinical to enable the business to move quickly while protecting the company.

Legal Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small but high performing legal team consisting of an Associate General Counsel and Commercial Counsel.
  • Establish priorities, allocate work effectively, and continue building a scalable legal function capable of supporting a rapidly growing healthcare technology company.
  • Foster a culture of partnership, accountability, responsiveness, and practical problem solving.

Commercial & Operational Legal Support

  • Personally negotiate, draft, and advise on a wide range of complex commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, vendor relationships, customer contracts, and healthcare agreements.
  • Oversee the company's commercial contracting strategy and continuously improve legal processes that enable faster business execution.
  • Partner closely with business leaders to remove friction while maintaining appropriate legal protections.

Corporate Governance & Risk Management

  • Lead all corporate governance activities, corporate records, entity management, and governance best practices.
  • Identify emerging legal and regulatory risks and proactively develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Manage litigation, investigations, employment matters, and outside counsel relationships.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare, privacy, technology, AI, and corporate regulations.
  • Partner with Security, Clinical, Product, and Operations leaders on evolving regulatory requirements affecting the business.
  • Oversee intellectual property strategy and protection of company assets.

Strategic Transactions

  • Lead legal support for mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, financings, and other significant corporate transactions.
  • Conduct legal due diligence and structure transactions that support the company's long term growth.

Special Considerations:

While we are a remote-first company with employees located across the U.S., we do have a NYC office located at Penn 1. Many of our local employees come into the office on Wednesdays for collaboration and connection (and lunch!), and we have a strong preference for this hire to be on the east coast.

What will make you successful here in this role:

  • You think like a business leader first and a lawyer at the same time.
  • You enjoy building organizations, not just maintaining them.
  • You are equally comfortable presenting to the Board, coaching your team, and negotiating contracts yourself.
  • You know when to say "no," but more importantly, you know how to help the business get to "yes."
  • You lead with humility, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset.
  • You thrive in lean environments where everyone contributes and no work is beneath the leader.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
  • 12+ years of legal experience, including meaningful experience in both a leading law firm and an in-house legal department supporting healthcare, healthcare technology, SaaS, AI, or other highly regulated technology businesses.
  • Prior experience leading and developing legal teams while remaining actively engaged in legal execution.
  • Demonstrated success advising executive leadership teams on complex legal and business matters.
  • Exceptional commercial judgment with the ability to provide practical, business focused advice rather than simply identifying legal risk.
  • Outstanding negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Strong experience with commercial contracting, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, litigation management, and strategic transactions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast moving, high growth environment where priorities evolve quickly.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical plans - choose from three plans, including one with 100% of premiums covered for you and your dependents
  • Vision & Dental
  • Hybrid Time Off Policy (Flexible Time Off (FTO) Policy for exempt employees and Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy for non-exempt employees)
  • Sick days in accordance with your state law
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • 12 Fixed Holidays (company closed)
  • 5 Covera Days
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Annual Professional Development Stipend to invest in courses, books, or any other professional development related activity
  • Annual Wellness stipend for fitness, mental health or other wellness expenses

The minimum and maximum base salary for this position ranges from $325,000-$375,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, expertise and location.
