About this Bilingual Patient Care Coordinator - (Registered Nurse/Nurse Practioner) role at Staffing for Doctors
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Virtual Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator to support a specialty Orthopedics, Pain Medicine, PM&R, and Neurology practice. The ideal candidate is a clinically trained nurse (RN or NP) with U.S. virtual assistant experience who can intuitively navigate complex patient case files, manage high-volume patient communications, and oversee intricate insurance verifications across commercial, personal injury (PI), and workers' compensation claims.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Volume Case Management: Manage and organize detailed, complex patient case files with exceptional accuracy and clinical judgment.
- Insurance Verification & Authorizations: Verify patient coverage across Commercial plans, Personal Injury (PI), and Workers' Compensation (WC) cases.
- Patient & Provider Communication: Handle cross-channel communications (phone, email, text) in both fluent English and Spanish.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Oversee calendar management, schedule patient appointments, and coordinate next steps in physician treatment plans.
- Clinical Case Tracking: Review and synthesize patient histories and medical records to support practice workflows without requiring extensive hands-on oversight.
Requirements
- Clinical Background: Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) credentials — non-negotiable.
- Hospital Nursing Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical hospital nursing experience.
- Virtual Assistant Experience: Minimum of 2 years working as a Virtual Assistant for U.S. healthcare operations.
- Language Fluency: Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish with clear, professional spoken English skills.
- Insurance Expertise: Hands-on experience verifying Commercial, Personal Injury (PI), and Workers' Compensation insurance types.
- Administrative Skills: Exceptional organizational ability, calendar management skills, and strong multi-channel communication etiquette.
Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a starting pay rate of $6 per hour depending on skill set and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm EST.
